  1. As Per Rotoworld

Bills GM Buddy Nix says DE/OLB Mario Williams will play left defensive end, and that the Bills have no interest in using him as an outside linebacker.

Is he going to be LDE? If so, then we may still be in the market early for a speed rusher.

  2. Financially speaking... does someone know if it is even possible for us to stay under the cap if we:

    1) Re-sign Bell and Chandler reasonably

    2) Sign top tier DE (Williams, Abraham, Mathis)

    3) Sign top tier WR (Bowe, Vincent Jackson)

Then we'd be in a really good spot to draft best available at LT, DE, WR and we wouldn't feel compelled to reach.

  3. Man you bring up a great point. The defense really hasn't been effective since we lost Schobel. He was our only real outside pass rusher. Nix even said it himself the whole defense should get better with an improved pass rush and if you give an NFL QB that much time "they will wear you out".

That being said don't reach for a pass rusher. As someone else said BPA. If that happens to be one of the top 2 LTs because the premier pass rushers are off the board then get an LT. It's a position of need. Good teams have a guy they know is THE guy at LT not a bunch of fodder that they rotate in and out waiting for projects and experiments to pan out.

We need a passrusher in the worst way. Being able to stop the other team = more running the ball = fewer picks for Fitz

We need pressure in the worst way... i say "overpay" any eilte player willing to come here.

  4. How's our salary cap situation looking?

I know we were way below last year, but how's it shaping up post Fitz contract?

    Can we afford to:

    1) Sign our free agents we want back: Stevie, Bell, Chandler, etc.

    2) Take care of Fred

    And then

    3) Sign a big name passrusher

    4) Sign a big name WR

  5. The Bills allowed very few sacks and Jackson and Spiller averaged 5 yards a carry. Why is OT so important?? The Bills pass rush had only 26 sacks, ten in one game, thats what is important. You want to fix something thats not broke.

    The theory is:

We didn't allow sacks because we made so many quick throws. Then defenses came up to bump us at the line. A good left tackle might buy us more time in the pocket to make the downfield throws.

  6. What if they give that catch to Stevie Johnson and we beat the Bungles that day? We kill more time, put some points on the board and win.

How many times are we going to say "what if stevie did this" before we get sick of it?

3 winning seasons in 21 years. One playoff appearance doesn't mean their fortunes are turned around yet.

I'd take a playoff appearance from us and some extra real picks from team cancers any day.

I seem to recall a lot of "at least we're not the Bengals" comments last offseason. Now look.

We're right back where we started.... watching the other cellar dwellers climb out while we swim in ineptitude.

  7. I want the pass rusher who is big and physical and has had more than one season of production...period...we NEED to hit on this pass rusher, and I agree that unless we sign someone via free agency (ala Robert Mathis - aint happenin though) we need to address pass rush with the first pick, and probably even if we do sign pass rusher in free agency

other POTENTIAL positions: WR and CB (and honestly we need help at both of those spots too)

Unless Blackmon or Jeffrey fall, I don't think WR will happen in round 1.

I think that we think our corners are fine, we just need a passrush.

We'll probably take another corner late.

  8. Personally, I think there is little doubt that the Bills want to select a passrusher at #10 overall, unless some elite talent falls.

    Thoughts on the following players?

    Quinton Coples, DE, N. Carolina

    Andre Branch, DE, Clemson

    Melvin Ingram, DE, S. Carolina

    Courtney Upshaw, OLB, Alabama

    Whitney Mercilus, OLB, Illinois
