Pats stealing signals?
Ever wonder why the Patriots always seem to sign our scrub castoff WR's.....
And then cut them.
-
It kind of looks like the right tackle missed an assignment.
Even if it's not.... How can you leave the most dominant guy for batting down passes in the past decade unblocked, needing to dump the ball right behind him?
If true, I think even less of Hackett.
That was the plan until this happened.
The man they game planed for all week and he throws it right at him.
If only it was an isolated incident...
I believe, This was the final nail in EJs proverbial coffin.
Imo -
Good job. Chris Williams will probably be cut. And then put in Chris Gragg.
Hmm what about Jordan Gay? -
Relax.
Kiper gave the Seahawks a D at first in the draft that produced Sherman and Maxwell.
And he gave the Lions an A- for Nick Fairley, Titus Young and Mikel Leshoure.
-
QB's avoided him. That's a good sign for how Rex likes to play.
-
They must want someone else. The Bills twitter feed also has a question about who the #3 QB is and do the bills want him?
Maybe they want Grayson and think he will go after Petty so they want to know which round he'll be taken in
-
All in all, trading down to get EJ and picking up Kiko => McCoy seems like a huge win when you look at how bad this draft class was. Probably one of the worse that I can remember.
It is still a little early, and time will tell. But man... compare this draft to 2011... yikes.
-
The Bills aren't done yet. Biggest needs: TE, QB, FB, DE, LB
Clay, Locker and David Harris would be nice.
-
4M would be a steal for Clay. He would do really well in the Delanie Walker role I think.
When the Patriots played the Dolphins, they put their best corner on Clay (when healthy) and not Wallace.

Re: Injury Prone
Uncertainty and fear of injury allowed the Saints to land Brees for backup money.
I say we take a flier on Bradford with a great OC. He's never had any real weapons and most people thought he was the Luck/Peyton of his draft class.
-
Who else would lead the search? Pegula?
If they don't like Whaley, they'll pull a Nix/Whaley transition anyway... you need some continuity since Whaley has to see through this draft at a minimum.
-
What do you all think about trying to acquire Sam Bradford?
Think he can pull a Drew Brees?
-
Coming up, we play the Chiefs and Vikings and Texans... all of whom have lost major impact players.
Look out, this could be the year we return to relevancy.
-
Why only 3 catches? And no plays designed for him?
-
Couldn't watch the game... how did Sammy Watkins look?
Did they double team him? Was he a decoy (hurt)?
Thanks in advance
-
he wouldn't take a pay cut, that's what I was hung up on.
Fitz wanted to move on and have some new scenery.
And double dip on his salary.
-
Well that and wait for the market to develop. It's doubtful he told his wife in late July
The bIlls got a one year 5 mil offer on the table, but I want to hang with the kid and you, until
8 days before the regular season. Most GM's would not like that attitude.
I for some reason do not think Buffalo was his first choice for a variety
Of reasons.
It's a mix of he wanted to get paid without going through training camp.
Frankly, as a veteran and a backup -- why shouldn't he want to skip camp?
He's going to be giving half a year to the sport and his job... these guys work like crazy during the season and put their bodies through hell.
You can see this "attitude" with a lot of other veterans who don't really need to prove themselves... with "fake" injuries etc.
On this team, notably Byrd and Stevie Johnson. They are both doing the same thing with their new teams.
-
Was Orton playing possum and waiting for for best deal? Absolutely. But to buy into the rumor that they had been pursuing him since when July 16 when the cowgirls released him, and to think they even knew he would be released is giving Whaley way too much credit. i and others firmly believe these guys are playing for their jobs now. Was signing Orton smart. Well yes there is no better QB backup out there. is it a head scratching move? yes. Why wait and gamble to the very last second to have a decent backup?
Orton did not want to do training camp and wanted to spend time with his family.

We need WR + LB + OL but I think our biggest need at #9 overall is WR.
WR
It has become obvious that Stevie Johnson is a good WR and a nice guy, but not a #1 WR.
More often than not, when it was clutch time... Stevie would get a dumb penalty, drop passes or turn the ball over.
Sorry to say... it was rare that he came up big, and not often enough to compensate for the more frequent mistakes.
LB
We also need another stud linebacker to help stop the run... we found our Kuechly in round 2 last year. If there is another one this year, we'd grab him early, but I think a big WR is a more glaring need. Maybe we can strike gold again in round 2/3. Also, our problem on defense was that our offense wasn't scoring enough points. I also think our D surprised some people this year, which may mean we can get some good vet FA's to address some needs.
OL
It seems like Whaley likes to find other teams castoffs for OL... that's why unless a stud falls, I think we'll more likely plug holes at OL and go for playmakers in the draft early.
-
That was definitely McK's best game against the Pats. Brady normally eats him alive.
-
Stevie drops the third down pass...
Brady threads the needle... twice.
We go three and out to lose the game.
Sigh.
-
When was the last time any of our QBs looked remotely good?

The irony is that one could argue that Atlanta lost the superbowl because Freeman missed a block and allowed Ryan to be sacked.
(One of the many plays anyway)
