  1. Everyone has an opinion on whether Fitz is good enough, whether Donte is underrated, whether Kyle is pro bowl quality or whether we should trade Lee Evans. I just think its time to rate the Bills to see where are and where we need improvement. There are people who say we are so bad that we should cut the whole roster but that’s rubbish, the fact is we need some impact players to put us over the edge. We have the basis of a good team here now. Anyway I will leave this up to you and perhaps collate the ratings at the end. Here's my take on it for what its worth.

    1-2 Not good enough

    2-4 Below average

    5-6 adequate NFL talent

    7-8 Good player

    9 Great player

    10 Elite player

Obviously players such as rookies or with an upside can have two ratings for example Arthur Moats is a perhaps a 7 but could grow to be a 9. This is all subjective obviously but at least it gets you being honest about where we are.

    Ryan Fitzpatrick - 6

    Fred Jackson - 8

CJ Spiller - 6 but could rise to a 9

    Corey McIntyre - 7

    Lee Evans - 7

David Nelson - 7 but could rise to a 9

    Stevie Johnson - 8

Donald Jones - 6 but could rise to a 8

Marcus Easley - only going on reports pre season but he sounds like the real deal, who knows.

Roscoe Parrish - in this new offence 7

Naaman Roosevelt - 6 but could be an 8

The O line is not my bag as I am honest enough to say the little intricacies leave me lost but I know you lot sound like you know what you're talking about most of the time

Bell - 6 but his star is on the rise, could be an 8 if he can build up his strength

Levitre - our best lineman this year who knows how good he can be 7

Wood - 6 but could get to a 9 at centre. terrific upside

    Geoff Hangartner - 7

The others are very young too and look like they may have a future here in fairness. Howard, Wrotto, Ubrick and Rinehart looked to be decent enough and could improve with playing time. Wang I don’t know yet. However, though pass protection has improved immensely run blocking is woeful.

Kyle Williams - 9-10........ enough said

Alex Carrington - in the limited time we have seen him 6 but there is talent there, may get to an 8

    Kellen Heard NT

    Spencer Johnson - 6

Marcus Stroud - has sadly dropped to a 6 and is only going to get worse

Torell Troup - the same as carrington really 6 but could get to an 8 with time

    Dwan Edwards - 7

    Akin Ayodele - 6

    Chris Kelsay - 6

    Aaron Maybin - 2

    Arthur Moats - 7 but could be a 9

    Paul Posluszny - 7

Merriman - if he gets fit he's exceptional.

    Davis - When hes fit he's a 7

Jairus Byrd - 7 but is getting better all the time, could yet make it to a 9

    Reggie Corner - 6

    Drayton Florence - 7

    Terrence McGee - 7

    Leodis McKelvin - 7

    Bryan Scott - 6

    Donte Whitner - 7

    George Wilson - 7

    Ashton Youboty - 6

I know there are no TE's mentioned but I don’t think I need to. We haven’t got any! I may have forgotten someone so I am sorry if I have. I will wait for the first numbskull who gives out 1's across the board. Its bound to happen.

And be kind. Have just watched the Eddie Guerrero RAW tribute from 2005 and I am very emotional! ;)

  2. QB-Fitz and Brown. - Fitz has earned another year , and frankly , I think he's got IT and replacing him as starter would be a step backwards IMO. That said , if Luck declares and somehow falls to us , we gotta pull the trigger.

    FB-The Black Terminator.

RB-Jackson and Spiller. - Freddy is a gamer and Spiller is a rookie learning his way. Next year will be CJ's break out year.

WR-Johnson, FA, Parrish, Roosevelt, Jones - Johnson is great and will only get better. Parrish showed some flashes of what could be , and Roosevelt has potential given more playing time. AJ Green will be probably be the "best available player" on the board when we pick , so if the Bills stick to that draft formula , we could be seeing AJ in red and blue next year.

TE-FA, Stupar. Nelson - I like Nelson but Stupar hasn't shown much IMO . Isn't Owen Daniels a FA?

OL-Bell, Levitre, Hang, Wood, Bell , ? - Levitre and Wood will continue to improve . Hang is getting a little old so it might be a good idea to draft a Center in the later rounds. I was somewhat impressed with Bell's play , though my expectations for him were low. Right tackle is a problem and needs to be fixed this year. Gaither or Justin Blalock from Atlanta might be worth a look.

DL-, Kyle Williams,Edwards, Ray Edwards (Free Agent) , Fairley (1st round pick)- I know I'm probably dreaming having the Bills sign Ray Edwards , but signing him and drafting Fairley could fix our D-line almost over night. Robaire Smith might also be a cheaper option , but not a long term fix.

LB-Moats, Poz, Free Agent , Maybin ( Harris/Greenway/Mike Peterson come to mind.) Poz is an average LB and Moats was a great find. Bringing in an athletic sideline to sideline LB is what we need. Perhaps year 3 is a charm for Maybin , though unlikely.

CB-McKelvin, Florence, Corner , McGee.- No changes here.

S-Whitner , Bryd, Wilson/Scot - Resign Whitner to a reasonable contract , if not , we draft a safety or pick up a mid-level tier free agent. Pass protection isn't a major problem.

Defense was our main problem this year . IMO , if we shore up the DLine and LBs , we could see the playoffs next year.

Can I just say one thing thats bugging me and constanly happens on here. Geoff Hangartner is 28!!!!! He was only drafted in 2005. He's not old. I am not having a go at anyone. It just seems to be said a LOT and its not true.

  3. Ok a few things, those who are saying we are playing only a 4-3 now are wrong and so are those who are saying we are playing a 3-4, we mix it up between the both formations. The question is can we afford to keep the kind of personnel on the roster to run both formations permanently? As I said previously its at LB we need help. Someone who everyone is forgetting is Merriman. Who knows if he stays. Who knows if he can stay healthy. However if he does both then we have a hell of a weapon at OLB with Moats learning quickly on the other side. Obviously Nix has his own idea's but I would love to see them draft a stud rushing OLB like Von Miller and then the middle can look after the run. We do have quite the group if you think about it. Troup, Carrington, Moats are all rookies. Edwards has been good this year till his injury. Williams is outstanding. The factor in Stroud, Johnson, Pos and Merriman then we are looking fine. A solid ILB and someone to pressure the QB whether it be a OLB or a DE (Bowers) then I think we're gonna look solid next season.

  4. If I can give a view from Britain we have the prime time games but also we have one selected game for the early Sunday slot (which is 6pm here). In short the Bills havent been on our television for the last two seasons (the game last year against the Pats wasn't on as a TV deal hadn't been signed by that point). However the powers to be have allowed us to watch 9 49er games which has been........... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I will go with the nfl game pass but over here thats a lot more expensive than back there, $23 a week or around $400 for a year but at least I get to see the whole bills games instead of the highlights.

  5. Once again we are jumping at conclusions on the players we have here already. I am as guilty of it as anyone else but draft picks don't usually come in and contribute immediatly and we signed Troup last year. With a full off season to come Troup may well be THAT run stuffing NT we are looking for. I am all for looking to upgrade but if Nix and Gailey think they are set at the position then they will look at other weaknesses first. However there is one other thing, I was reading the Dolphins board after our win and they commented on Kyle Williams. It went something like "And we thought we were lucky with our nose tackles! Kyle Williams is special" (I will go searching for the exact comment if you want). People keep saying that Kyle is too small to play nose but he is doing it well. Really its our linebacking corp that needs upgrading rather than the defensive line. However if they signed either NT from Miami I would be very pleased but don't be surprised if they think they are set at that position.

  6. It was said that the Bills "reached" for Whitner, McCargo, and Losman in recent years. The wrong pick at the wrong time or spending too much to move back up and pick in the later part of the first round.

They were reaches and we have sort of seen how that panned out.

Surely they are only reaches if they dont live up to expectation?!?! If you had a poll on here after the draft last year people would have said Byrd was a reach! Its all relative.

  7. no, it's not, so don't go around saying that it is until you can prove it.

I seriously think some people have too much time on their hands. Sorry for reporting this story, I mean........ rumour! No wonder people dont bother posting on here with the forum police on parole.
