  1. A couple of those "open" plays are with a safety over the top, I mean if you have safety help you play a trail, which is evident on the INT.  You don't need to be stride for stride with the WR if you have the safety over the top.  You generally don't want Allen throwing with safety help over the top and I wouldn't classify those throws as open, DB is playing a different technique.  Anyway, I'm sure Gabe is often open on plays, but unfortunately he's not getting the rock.

This is against one average offense and two awful offenses. It's official - we are one of the worst defenses in the league. All that investment, a defensive head coach, and this is what we get.

Well the "investments" are injured.  I mean when you lose those 3 players, Von still being a shell, Rosseau not 100%, and your top draft pick at CB flaming out you're not going to play good D.  This D looked legit until the London injuries took out multiple starters, didn't help that Oliver was out yesterday.

I know it looks like he's jogging but any chance he's keeping that safety lower just by being there? If he's in a dead sprint that safety Is closer up on Diggs?

Even if that's the case poor route designs. He shouldn't be on a streak, would be more effective to run a comeback or something shorter

No you're absolutely right that he can't just go full speed, because they need good route distribution, but he also knows he's not an option on that play.  Like you'd think he would curl up near the sticks as a quick outlet pass, which would keep the safeties eyes even more.  Whatever, I just wish he got more action, I think he can be tool in the slot.

  4. Like I don't even care.  Bills are not playing  well, until that changes it's hard to care if they back into the division lead for a bit.  Still time left in the year, but if they're not clicking on O it won't matter in getting to where they want to get to which is a SB.

  5. This offense used to spread the ball around. I’m not saying Davis is playing well, but what are the chances that only Diggs is playing well, when in years past we would have Sanders, Beasley, both were agin as well, Davis,  Knox, and McKenzie all contributing .  Like that’s the biggest issue, we have no secondary contributions and in years past we would certainly have more than just Diggs.

  6. Harty touched the ball once and made something happen with two missed tackles. This offense doesn’t do enough of that, hit guys in stride and just let them make plays with ball. It’s a slow plodding offense at this point with little explosive plays and zero rac.  Just frustrating.

I have to give it to McDaniels, he made me like his nerdy self. He was genuinely appreciative of the Bills gameplans (on D, obviously, but likely on offense too). I 'm sure he was quick to think of ways to counter what the Bills D did, and it jus opened up new ideas to him, and he was all giggly about that.  It was, IMO, the Bills coaches best performance in years.

McDaniel is a different cat.  New school coach through and through.

Most likely - i could see him restructuring before that happens to stick around.  He had 9 TDs the year he signed so its not like he doesn't have ability.

He does.  I mean he was wide open on that Josh int in the 2nd quarter.  I just feel like we don't use TE enough as it is.

I feel like Shakir has ability and we don't target him either.  It's just a weird offense.  In 20/21 we had much better balance spreading the ball around, not so much this year, or last for that matter.

His contract makes it so we have a significant dead cap hit regardless of when we cut him.

Shout out to the boys in accounting for that. And also to whoever thought paying him that much to be an afterthought in our passing game.

Can’t forget we ended up drafting a pass catching TE in the 1st round a year later who we don’t really have a plan for either.

The guys at OBD really outdid themselves with this one.

I remember looking at his contract after they drafted Kincaid, and I’m pretty sure they save money by cutting him after next season.  Yeah, they’ll have dead cap, but they’ll save a good chunk of change by moving on and they’ll open up cap space by doing so.

He should have caught the ball yesterday, but Allen also didn’t throw a great ball, said so himself after the game.  Honestly, this offense has little TE utilization and they somehow thought it was a good idea to draft another one, lol.

  10. I’m not just saying that because of this week, but I feel Harris needs more run, with Cook coming in to change the pace.  There’s a reason he’s always been the second option, he lacks things that you need every down, and pass pro is huge on a team that rosters and starts Spencer Brown.

I appreciate the work you put into the thread. Love reading it. Agree about Johnson, he’s been doing a great job the last two seasons.
