You hire people based on their resume. TO has a much better resume than anyone available to us, including Hardy, Kevin Walter (yikes), Dez White. He's a playmaker. Period. Justify releasing him if you will, but it's a loser move.
-
Top 5 WR all time and 2nd best WR in Bills history. Led the Bills in Yards and receptions. He was a perfect citizen while in Bflo.
I sincerely hope he comes back. Let's see...Hall of Famer or hope that Hardy pans out....Do you really need to think??

Stop chasing names. There are no quick fixes especially not Vick or a high priced bandaid. The only FA we should bring in should be about 27 Y/o, weigh 300 plus and play OT or NT
-
It's early for this discussion. Fun. But early. After the combine and pro days, the board will settle and it may look nothing like what we think we know now. I don't think anyone was talking about Tyson Jackson at #3 this time last year.
And it's ridiculously early to predict what anyone will do, especially Okaland.

Jauron the coach wasn't nearly as much the problem as whomever constructed that team. Just awful personnel management. Draft high character suckjobs and let all of your really good players go. I can't believe I still have season tix.
-
They are not big enough 3-4 DEs are close to or over 300 pounds unless they are a freak of nature like Bruce who was less than 300 pounds but looked like he was chisled from stone. Do your home work people.
Puhlease....
The assertion is that some players may be able to bulk up to 280-285 (which is starting point for 3-4 DE) and be good enough to do what 3-4 ends do....which is not much. I personally doubt it, but you're about to see it. They can't cut everyone just because they changed coaches.
Homework....

Could save Chris Ellis' career as a Bill. Could McCargo spell at NT?
Who is Chris Ellis?
-
Ditto on Pat Wms. Draft a fat young guy. T Cody...come on down....
-
YAWN....predicitably obscure pick for DC.
Denney (if he's back) and Kelsay might be okay 3-4 DEs. Can they hold their point and let Poz, McClain and other LBs make plays?? Maybe.
We would need less of a pass rush from them, so they got that covered.
-
yea cuz Stroud held up so good as a 43 NT.
Stroud should not get paid to do what he does. CUT.

ALABAMA MAN PREFERS WARM WEATHER TO COLD.....NEWS AT 11.

Wow! Everything I've read indicated the young middle of our line was promising. Now I learn that it's all crap and we need to start over again...again.
Thanks for setting me straight.

I heard he could kick too....
Seriously, if you watched Nix's presser, he basically said HE WILL NOT PROJECT PEOPLE TO NEW POSITIONS.
Iupati will NOT be a Bill.

I've been violent twice on draft day:
1. When Bills picked John Fina instead of Carl Pickens
2. When they picked Donte Whitner, whom most had late in the 1st if a 1st at all, over Hloti Ngata.

People on both sides of this debate like to pull out examples of why you need to have a line first, or why you need the qb first. The fact that there are examples on both sides make it fairly obvious to me that either method / order can work. It's about drafting the right guys, not just about drafting the right positions. Now play nice.
A-Freakin-Men...
Draft good players...

Bradford...if he checks out. It has been 14 months since body of work, so it's tough to be giddy.

If the Colts have the #1 Offensive line, why were they ranked #32 in rushing??? Oh...that's right, they put the ball in Manning's hands......
If the QB reads it right, quickly and executes...all of the sudden the O-line looks good. If the QB is puzzled, takes forever to read AND execute (Ron Johnson), even the best O-line will look crappy.
Oops..Rob Johnson. Ron Johnson was the stereo sales guy who "dated" Jennifer Jason Leigh in Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

Check nfl.com. I know it's a lot of yin and yang and good line play is complementary to good QB play and visa versa but:
Colts #1 ranked offensive line
Saints #4 ranked offensive line
Manning and Brees can't be Manning and Brees without those guys up front giving them the time and peace of mind to do their thing. Without those QBs, those lines are still easily top 10 in the NFL...with them they are #1 and #4 respectively. You can't get around it. You can't take one of those guys, put them on our team and suddenly we have a top 10 quality line.
NOT A CHANCE!

1. Claussen will not get by Skins and Seahawks.
2. For those who think OL will make a good QB, look at how Brees and Manning slide in the pocket. How they manage the game. They touch the ball 65 times a game and are the only guys who can make EVERYONE on the team better, including the defense. Although I'm not sure this is the year we get one, WE NEED ONE!!
3. Matt Schaub led the NFL in passing yards and he was a 3rd rounder. Just becuse we fill one of our other GAPING holes first, does not mean that QB is not imortant.

Kelly's replacement = NFL calibre QB. I would not be surprised at all if our opening day starter is already on the roster...and I'm not talking Fitzpatrick.
If Gailey is so good at developing QBs, maybe he can develop Edwards. It wouldn't surprise me at all.
-
I'm sorry, did you say TRADE for Tyler Thigpen?? Why not grab Derek Anderson while your at it. He had about 30 TDs a coupla years ago....
I hope they hold on to their draft picks, add even more and draft well. If we're looking for Kelly's replacement, he's not buried on some other team's depth chart.

NEVER CHASE 35 Y/O REPUTATIONS. What would Belicheck do? Guaranteed he doesn't trade the future for a chance McNabb has 3 years left.
Don't even think about it.

Old school. Cookie Gilchrist. Mike Stratton. I'd love for the Bills o be a team that others hate playing.

Alex is a Bill and A Good Guy many newbies here do not know or understand the History of the Bills, like in life they only care about NOW That is why we have tasteless jokes about Buster Ramsey Dying or Hitler or on and on lets show some class, not only your ignorance Things Like the support for Beerball show the best in this site, the others the things that are bad, Lets Grow up a Tad OK
Okay, maybe it's a little harsh, but just what did the Pill accomplish as a Bill or for the Bills other than a meaningless TD pass in SB 26? He's done little more than occupy a void. That's my oberservation and opinion. Good coaches find a way to get stuff done and we just didn't see that with the Pill. Again....great guy though...
Bills will be making a major move at QB

While I appreciate the effort and don't disagree with the assertion, that process is the same for every position on the team. I don't think the Bills are special in their process. It does stress how important the QB position is. It also stresses how much of a crapshoot it is. We gave up a lot of high picks for guys like Hobert, Johnson, Losman, Edwards, etc...
Maybe you draft a QB every year and hope you get lucky.
