  1. No way Clausen falls that far. Us taking a RB to give Trent confidence? Like we don't have good RBs already? This would just give Trent one more guy to throw to 1 yard past the line of scrimmage, that's all.

You need to go to BB.com & check out the article "Gailey sheds light on QB situation" and click on T. Edwards name which is a link to his stats . I still think because of a bad OL Bills nation has given up on him to quick . I'll just bet you were one along with many that thought he was the future when you were watching JP losing games for us . In a recent article i read there is no way a QB can grow if your constantly changing , coaches , schemes , & OL personal (Ala B Bills) that can't give a guy the time needed to stay upright let alone throw a pass more than 5 yards . Check out the stats !! Bills fans are way to trigger happy!! look at the guys we recently pulled the trigger on the saftey for the Jets , Justin Jenkins , & i know there's more of them out there that we let go that given the right chance in the right situation have done better than well in the NFL . Besides have you watched any tape of Spiller ??

  2. Well Kennedy isn't coming and there is still a great possibility that Schobel retires. There are so many question marks on this team with this new defense that I find it hard to say that our defense will be killer. I think this defense is going to get murdered.

I personally think that McKelvin may be a bust as a lock down corner. He has looked average at best when healthy in one on one coverage. But we are set at three of the four DB spots. CB's in the 3 4 defense must be lock down corners

At LB, I think Schobel retires, and Maybin will still be a bust. Poz and Mitchell have shown me nothing but average play since they arrived. We need to draft a stud LB.

The defensive line can't stop the run. The Bills need a big run stopper in the middle and the LB's need to fill the lanes. They are not going to fill any of these holes through free agency, because nobody wants to come to Buffalo and play, and the offense has too many holes a LT, G, WR and QB, so I don't think we are going to get a stud DT or LB in this draft. I don't think Eric Wood is going to be activated until after the second half of the season like Hardy was. His next season will be much like Hardy's. So, we need another Guard as well. We still need two more Tackles, and no way do we go into this season with Evans, Hardy, Parrish and Johnson as our WR core. Don't even get me started on the QB situation.

Gailey is basically the offensive coordinator, so he is going to start by fixing the offense.

This defense is going to struggle big time next year. This defense will get little help in the draft because Gailey will concentrate on building an offense. I will go out on a limb and say that our first two/three picks will be offensive players.

I hate to be so pessimistic, but if you really look at reality, this team may not win 4 games next year.

Boy your just a ball of sunshine !! Let me guess your a glass 3/4 empty guy ?? :P

  3. For the first time since the actual game I watched the Bills/Tenn. game and had some thoughts.

    1. From the get go both starting offensive tackles for the Bills were hurt and Johnson was running for his life. There were three of four actual sacks early in the game. Reinforced my belief that without a good offensive line anchored by quality tackles you are going to have a heck of a time trying to establish a passing game.

    2. We probably should have run more. Thomas was still Thomas and Antowain Smith would have been more effective with more carries.

    3. I can see why we fired DeHaven.

    4. Not to stir up old wounds, and admitting that Johnson didn't play a bad game given what little protection he had, but I think we'd have been better off with the more mobile Flutie and his style of play in that game.

    5. Goes without saying....the throwback was a forward pass and should have been called back.

Wades biggest mistake !! To take a guy out of the line up that led you to the brink of the play offs & that had the winning pedigree not to mention heart that Flutie had will go down as just plain stupid in Bills lore . Flutie was the heart & soul of that team , not to mention the leader & those guys that played with him knew it . What did Rob  Johnson ever do but collect 25 million of Ralphs money & GAVE NOTHIN IN RETURN !!-------- BOY I HOPE I DON'T SOUND  PISSED !! Sorry i had a flash back . ( i think that was the year i started counceling or was it 93 ??) I need to lay down.

  4. I'll take.

I agree with your percentages, and think that drafting beef early and often is the smartest thing to do at this point. Tebow fans see him now in the 3rd round, and I think that is accurate. This would allow us to take a LT with our 1st, and maybe a big NT with our second.

I feel better with Nix and Whaley running the show, but Modrak is still the VP of scouting, and his glorious tenure has graced us with such gems as Mike Williams, Donte Whitner, and James Hardy.

I get the dis on Williams & Whitner , but man at least give Hardy a chance . It usually takes 3 yrs to develope a receiver , he's been here 2 & was hurt almost all of one !! IMO got to at least give him a chance (what a tough crowd)

  5. I've been thinking about who I would prefer the Bills to pursue at QB.

They already have 3 young QBs on the roster who can definitely fill the #2 and #3 QB slots and potentially improve (especially Brohm, less so with Trent, not so with Fitz).

Here is what I think we should do at QB (ranked in order of my priority)

The idea here being that the 3 guys on the roster will be brought in to camp to compete for a spot in the top 3.

I would love a trade for Mcnabb (if available). Problem solved for a few years. Would you give philly our #1 pick in 2011 for McNabb ?. I realize this most likely will never happen. So, on to more likely options.

1.) Trade with Baltimore for Troy Smith and have him compete (and most likely win) the starting job. Brohm becomes #2 or #3. Fitz and Trent fight for the other slot. Smith is an RFA. We can sign him and only have to give up a 3 if they don’t match. I think we could get him for less than a 3. But I'd be fine with giving up a 3 to get him. Maybe a bigger package deal to get Gaither too.

2.) Trade with Miami for Thigpen. Has worked with Gailey. Fits the system. Would fight it out with the others just as Smith would and most likely go into 2010 as the starter. I know, Miami probably won't trade him to us.

3.) Trade for Vick. Draft Tebow. Let the other 3 fight for the 3rd spot on the roster.

4.) Sign Delhomme and focus on building a strong O-line. Maybe resign T.O.

5.) Sign Jeff Garcia. Draft Tebow

7.) Sign Derek Anderson or trade for Quinn or Travaris Jackson or some other crappy washed-up never was.

I really like my #1 scenario and this is what I want to happen. So it won't.

What happened to #6 ?? (here it is) 6.) Sign a proven winner with heart Garcia (save money) & let the 3 others we have shoot it out for #2 & #3 - develop the one with the most up side to keep for no less than #2 or better !!! I really like #6 !!!!

  6. I can't help but laugh at all of billsfan=pains posts.

Ok, so we have McGee (always hurt), McKelvin (always hurt), Florence, Corner, Youboty (always hurt), Lankster and Harris at CB. Lankster and Harris are backups who we hope never see any time. Youboty is NEVER healthy. Corner is a solid 4th, but gets burned a lot. Between McGee and McKelvin, you can almost be guarantee that they won't be on the field together at the same time, So in essence Florence is our 2nd CB and Corner is our 3rd. If you trade one of them, Corner will probably end up being our 2nd CB for a large portion of the year. No thanks

If we were to trade any safety, minus Byrd, for a 3rd-5th I wouldnt be opposed to it.

Isn't Whitner a saftey , Scott & Wilson have done more than him , he hasn't showed any big play ability although he can play a number of positions ??

  7. Apperantly Ralph should have held an open interview on the stadium wall for the open front office positions because alot of us believe we know more than a guy that has been a part of winning organizations.

No - they just want the type of change we got in the last election, a lot of action that don't mean s**t and spend millions doing it !!! :wallbash: did i say that ??

  8. Queue the outraged "we should cut him" crowd!

I just wonder if that was what you were saying that monday night when he tipped the pass for an interception & touchdown against dallas ?? If nothing else the guy is a team player & has heart , he will do what ever the coaching staff wants . I know he use to play at a heavier weight so maybe they'll beef him back up & use him out side ?? :wallbash:

  9. There's something about Players like Cody...They may never truly reach their potential due to the weight issues, but they'll be clogging up the middle on 1st and 2nd Down for some NFL Team over the next 10 years...If he matures and gets truly dedicated he's an absolute monster...I don't see the risk at all...Especially if it's only going to cost a 2nd Round Pick...

How soon we forget does the name Mike Williams ring a bell ???

  10. not me. I would not draft a QB until we drafted/signed 2 DTs, LB and NT(real DT, LB and NT- not tomato cans). Do you think Bradford would of played well last year for us? Our lines are in shambles. We have been neglecting to fix them since the superbowl years. And Fitzpatrick, Trent, and Brohm is serviceable until the lines are fixed. Bradford and Clausen are not franchise QBs IMO.

    And for the 1,000th time-

ALWAYS DRAFT THE BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE NOT FOR NEED!

I agree with Clausen not being a franchise QB & Bradford will probably go to high , but we need a OT & NT as a priority. I would go OT Anthony Davis & or NT Dan Williams , either order with our first two picks !! then we'd be looking pretty good

  11. It does hurt to work out any of free agents weather its plummer , donte, or chad

    we need a qb

Plummer would be exciting , not sure if we win more games but we would score more points

What about Jeff Garcia he's better than what we've had in a while --might be cheap too ??

  12. You got it the Bills Anti All Decade team.

Thought we should have have some fun with it though.

Pick 2 players one on O and one on D for the anti Bills of 2000-2009.

you get 2 choices, chose wisely. As a quote from the talking stone head of Legends of the Hidden Temple "The choice is yours and yours alone"

    My 2 choices:

    Offense - Mike Williams

    Defense - Erik Flowers

I'd go ------- Mike Williams - Offense & John Mcargo Defense

  13. Now it seems this is more of a mainteaece thing that a remodel.

But on the topic of the Ralph, is it really that bad? Now I have been to both Foxboro and M&T bank stadium, and niether as a pure stadium is much nicer than the Ralph. Sure by apperence they are cleaner, newer, fancier (there is no chain link fence ha ha) but as far as sitting and watching a game they are on an even kiel. I have read that Jerrys Billion dollar place has terrible site lines and obstructed view seats, thats not the case in Buffalo. Besides, the dang thing is used 8-9 times a year, its more than adequate. You would think the greedy NFL would know that and not want to invest that much money when it is totally unnessecary.

Buffalo is one of the only teams in the league that is PAID FOR i would think that , that would be something to be proud of. I know that the stadium is leased but why have a billion dollar ego and have to raise the prices so they would have to move the team earlier . I guess being in debt is the American way though !!

  14. Sorry Bills fans I hate to break the news, you guys are smart right? Then you all should know Trent Edwards will be the Bills QB in 2010. Say what you want, they may draft a QB but no way they will WASTE a draft pick on a veteran when this team is rebuilding.Come on dudes wake up Trent edwards will be the Bills starting QB, I dont like it, but whatever, Im just pulling for the Sabres, actually Im pulling for team USA and Ryan Miller at the moment! Say what you want but TE will be the Bills QB in 2010 unless Sam Bradford falls to us, we draft him, and Edwards gets hurt, which is a very good possibilty

How soon we forget . When Trent had some thing that resembled an NFL caliber O line in 08 - 09 every body thought he was the future, put him behind a O- line that Marino , either Manning or Favre couldn't make look good and we are all ready to throw him to the wolves , what's up with that - Oh ye of little faith !! If any one can make Trent or Bromm work --Chan Can -- Go Bills !!

  15. There I said it...

I know Lee is a great player, I know he is a great team player, I know he still has productive years ahead. I hate the bills underutilize him. I am a huge fan of his work ethic, and I do not blame his lack of offensive output on him or his abilities.

    That said-

This franchise is years away from having a solid QB situation, the Line is still problematic and even with a reputable second threat, he was still underutilized. There are plenty of receivers in the league that can put up a 600 yard season. Lee is the Ferrari we can’t drive over 35 m.p.h. and won’t have the ability to until he starts breaking down himself.

Meanwhile, Lee is in his prime. He is the 2 or 3rd highest paid WR in the league. I suspect there are a number of teams that believe they are one Lee Evans away from a ring. Manning could use Evans to replace the void left by Harrison as one example, there are more. (SD, NE- though I would never advocate it, etc.)

That sounds like the Jauron theory (lets take away the whole O line and put in a new one and see how good we'll be ). I think Chan will use our skill players better & we have to have some kind of threat some where on the team .

I argue he is one of the Bills with the most external value and his low productivity on the bills (due to QB , scheme, cast) would be most easily replaced by a serviceable veteran, journeyman or 4th-6th round rookie.

  16. Dan Lefevour: 53 games, 66.4% completion pct., 12,000 yds passing, 102 TD's, 36 INT's, 142.9 QB rating

The man ROCKS !! This is buffalo's future !!! Why is it so hard to see ?? They say Bradford is supposed to go in the first round , he played in a spread offense like plus he was out a year with an injury & yet Lefevour barely get's a mention , (maybe that's a good thing) & he must be durable 53 starts & he rushed for over 2500 yards too !!
