  1. Call me crazy but I have a good feeling about stevie, I see him beating out Hardy for the #2 spot.

I had a feeling that Fred Jackson was money the first time i saw him run in the preseason 2 or was it 3 yrs ago now & i got that same feeling about Johnson & Hardy, they just need some field time . Steve did great when called upon . I believe they are the starters and Roscoe will be the back up . But don't forget about the new receiver Jackson , this kid was a stud as a Gator and ran like a 4.34 40 at his work out for the Bills & was taken by the Pats in the second but hurt his knee . He didn't play last year and has something to prove so this should be interesting when spring training starts . GO BILLS !!!!!

  2. I also think the Jags will go for Tebow in the first.

If he does make it past the Jags by some fluke he will never make it past The Pats . Bellichek had dinner with Teabow too & The Pats work from a spread type Offense at times and they would have the luxury of setting him for 3 or 4 years to learn from one of the best . So if we really want to get him i think there will be a lot of P*ssed off Bills fans cause the only place he may be available for the taking is at 9 .

  3. Maybe this has been tossed around earlier but I'm kinda scarred the top 4 OT will be gone by the time the Bills 9th pick.

Det.... Okung. Reason to protect Stafford, very understandable

Skins... Williams. Reason, to upgrade a line that's just as bad as the Bills

Chiefs... Bulaga.. Reason, to upgrade line now that Thomas Jones and Charles are in the backfield.

Oak....Davis.. Reason, Al Davis has a moment of clarity and does the right thing for once.

OK, now the Bills at 9 can draft Clausen, McClain or even Dez Bryant if this happens.

IMO, I think Clausen is the most common sense pick. But I think the Bills like Tebow more than they do Clausen at this point. Plus Tebow would be WAY cheaper than it would cost to sign a top ten QB.

Dez Bryant Would upgrade the WR core, but way to many questions but would be better than Hardy or Johnson? tough call

I would take McClain in a heartbeat. This would cover us in case Schobel hangs them up and at this point I think he does. Now you could have Maybin, Poz, McClain, Veek on Passing downs or Davis, Poz, McClain, Veek or even Kelsey on Run downs.

Hope I'm wrong cause we need a OT badly.

How do you know Bryant would be better than Hardy Or Johnson you haven't seen them play enough to know .Plus from what i've heard of Bryant the questionables about him could be pretty scarey !!

  4. Don't worry about what Gailey says, just worry about what he does.

He's currently just trying to build up some confidence in the Bills as an organization. What would you expect him to say, "The Bills really suck, they have no chance, and they're not going to win many games in 2010"??

As Bills fans we owe it to Gailey and the new Bills brass to at least give them a chance and to support them. I would say that it is fair to give them three years to try to turn things around. That doesn't mean that the team won't be competitive by year 2 because I think there's a pretty good chance that they will be, even though it may not add up to a lot of wins.

it will be impossible for Gailey & Co. to produce a winning season this year (i.e. at least 9-7) unless the QB and O-line situations are greatly improved at the very least. We probably can't reach 9-7 in 2010 unless we have a viable starting NT and a good starting quartet of LBs as well (since our secondary is expected to be pretty good).

Fixing all of those problems adequately may not be possible in year 1, but it is possible by year 2.

By year 3, the Bills should be well on their way towards being a realistic playoff contender. If they're not, then we'll have some complaining to do.

How the Bills brass ultimately chooses to improve their QB situation will tell me a lot about them and whether they are capable of turning this franchise around.

For my two cents, I believe that Chan Gailey was a very good hire, considering the circumstances. He's a proven winner.

He's a proven NFL OC, which the Bills haven't had in awhile. I really like the fact that he will be calling the plays on Sundays.

People forget that Gailey was a pretty hot commodity at one time, which is right around when the Cowboys hired him as their HC (and regretted firing him after producing a winning record). He was the Bill Cowher of that time. When coaches get fired, for whatever reason, they don't necessarily ever get a chance to be a HC again. Gailey is obviously good enough to garner another chance.

I don't know man , look what the Fins did , They went from a what ? A 1 & 15 team to the playoffs the next year, so any thing is possible with the right coach and some different players & a different attitude  And a little luck !!!

  5. If you ever watched Rob Johnson in practices, he was awesome. He almost always through to right person, beautiful looking ball, understood the offence and helped the players around him with the plays. He was one of the greatest practice QBs ever. On the field, with the pressure around him, was a different story obviously. You don't coach on the field however, but in practice.

He probably makes a great teacher for QBs, as he really understood the plays, and how to execute them, and how to go through progressions in theory, even though he struggled with it in actual games. I wouldn't hold having an ex pro QB who stuck around the NFL for more than a few season, no matter how successful was on field, tutor an amateur.

A lot of times, the backups and even 3rd string QBs who stick around pros for more than a few seasons get to understand the coaching side of play QB, better than the starter in some ways. They often relay in the plays and help the starter learn the game plan and go over film with him to find ways to help find things may have missed or give look at from different viewpoint. That role is not unlike the role that Rob is playing for Colt according to this, and he did that for several years for a lot of different QBs not named Flutie. Now if he had Flutie as his mentor, then yes would be worried, as dividing locker rooms seems to have been his specialty.

I doubt Flutie would have had half the success he had with the bills, if Rob hadn't been their either honestly. Not because Rob tutored him in any way, but the rest of the offense was helped significantly by Rob in practices, due to the way he understood the offense and guided the younger players on the team. Flutie was not type to put the time in or go out of his way for anyone but himself. Plus if Flutie was better when he didn't have to start too many games in a row. If teams had a chance to game plan him and prepare too much, the "magic" wasn't so special. Having a true pocket QB as the other starter on and off, made defenses game plan like we had a QB that could throw the ball down the field, which helped a gadget player like Flutie a ton.

Back to point, I think a player like Johnson is an ideal choice as a short term mentor/coach for players just coming out of college to help them prepare for the huge jump to the next level.

I'll take Flutie history & athleticism ( college , CFL, & NFL) over num nuts Johnson anytime . Getting the Bills to the brink of the play offs had nothing to do with Johnson other than his lousey butt wasn't on the field . Flutie was the leader of that team and every body on the team including num nuts Johnson that year knew it ,the only one that didn't was Wade Phillips - which will go down in Bills history as one of the stupidest coaching decisions of all time :wallbash: !! Flutie could make split second decisions unlike R  Johnson that's what make the great QB's great & if nothing was there he made something happen 9 times out of 10 . Defenses couldn't game plan for the unexpected & that was Fluties ace in the hole where on the other hand Johnson was just an ace hole . (I need a prozak or something ) I'll bet your the only Bills fan in history that ever had anything good to say about that total waste of Bills time, money & roster space !! WOW !!!!! (CAN YOU TELL I CAN'T STAND R :( J)

  6. Now hear me out, Brandon Graham will be our pick with the 9th spot overall. If of course, we do not trade the pick to move further down. If anyone remembers last year, Aaron Maybin was not talked about as a popular pick for us and we all know how it was about Orakpo and other players with the 11th pick in mock drafts. Well, Brandon Graham is not only a more productive player than Maybin, but we have more reasons to take him, since we know Schobel only has a couple years left if that. Michigans defense was very flexible in what type of scheme they played. 34 or 43 they played both and Graham played well. Moving into defensive end in a 3 man rush sometimes. This guy just reminds me of a Lamarr Woodley/ Dwight Freeney type of player and its scary how good he can be.

Now, nothing is more important to this league besides quarterbacks than pass-rushers. You can never get enough of these freak athletes! If you think about it besides Maybin who we all know (and I still believe in him) is a questionable pass-rusher in 34. Schobel may do great, but is old and may not even come back (I think he will). Besides those two we have Kelsay (dont think hell make the team this year), Chris Ellis (Jury is still out and thats a generous statement and maybe Kawika who I like more in the middle even though I think he can play anywhere.

In not going to keep beating a dead horse, but I really believe that when we pick if there is not someone on our boards that Buddy feels great about taking, we will go with Graham, in my opinion the guy is a cant miss pick.

    Proof is in the pudding...

If nothin else he made the two other picks that people say Buffalo might be considering at 9 (Bulaga & Clausen)look pretty bad a couple of times in those high lights .

  7. I'm dumbfounded that there are Bills fans that say 34 DE's are irrelevant...and that Bruce played a 4-3...crazy crazy crazy...and if anyone thinks Suh can't play Nose...need to watch tape of this dude's frame...he could EASILY put on ten or fifteen pounds and be a NT in a 3-4...Okung is worth trading up for...trade up...snatch Okung...use the second on Cody...I think we're straight...

What would trading up cost us ?? That is the question , i know we don't have many picks this year, if we were to trade up would we loose out all together on any second rounder or how would it pan out & who would it work with ?? Sorry but unlike some Bills fan i don't think i am Mr. Football . So that's why i ask because I CARE  !!

  8. I was just wondering , given the choice who would be your starters this year at the saftey positions & who would be your backups ?? I think we have some great talent at that position, but was wondering who we as fans think would be the two that would be the toughest for the other teams to go against week in & week out plus give us more stout defensive unit as a whole ??

So who would it be you make the call  ??

Jarius Byrd , Donte Whitner , George Wilson & Brian Scott -- It's your call Bills fans !!

  9. Looks like his "streak" ends at two. But there's always that number one pick for the 2011 draft, right, ever-patient loyal Bills fans? I love how the guy can get up in front of premium seat holders and hoot and holler about the Bills improving this season, when his "buddy", Buddy, hasn't signed anyone with a "lick" of talent through the first month of free agency. Good luck "coachin' em up", Chan and staff. In the end, it is always the same old story, you need talent to win and make the playoffs in the NFL, and up till now, the Bills still have the least amount of overall talent in the AFC East. And I don't see them having more overall talent then all but 5 other teams in the AFC, so how exactly does ol' Chan "get 'em into them there playoffs this year??"

Have you sent your resume in yet ?? You need some prozack or anger management or something !! Hey how about CHANGING TEAMS !!! Your post on pickin up Jackson was as positive s this one , the guy has 4;32 speed & he's only 25 but you only look at the negative . Hey I here the Raiders are looking for a few more fans you would fit right in !! There's an old saying if you ain't got nothin good to say then don't say nothin at all .

  10. This team needs to be rebuilt, we all know that. I have only completed rounds 1-5...

#9: Trade with San Fran, it seems like they really want Spiller and to ensure landing Spiller this would be the move they make, in return we get their first of 2 first round picks at #13 and #49 in the second.

#13: Here we grab our LT, hopefully Trent Williams is still on the board, if not we grab Anthony Davis, either way I feel like at number 13 neither would be a reach.

#41: We grab Tim Tebow, not to be our starter, unless he comes out and proves he is ready. I would prefer him to be the backup and hold the clipboard and let Gailey work his magic and help teach him the offense and develop him for next season.

#49: I was tempted to grab a DT here but I went with Maurkice Pouncey, 6'5 318lbs Center from Florida. Our Oline needs to be fixed, Hangartner is a good backup at best. Let Pouncey and Hangartner battle it out.

#72: The Bills grab their DT. Cam Thomas from North Carolina, 6'4 and 330lbs. Has the size for what we need at the 3/4 NT position. Him and Stroud could make a nice team in a rotation.

#107: Thaddeus Gibson, a DE/OLB from Ohio State, has the size at 6'2 240 to play OLB, has good coverage skills and if Schobel does not come back he could be on the other side of Maybin with Poz and Davis in the middle, Mitchell needs to step it up.

#140: Jordan Shipley, WR from Texas has been consistent while playing for the Long Horns. Stands at 6'0 190 and runs around a 4.47, could turn out to be a steal.

If these players fall to us we should be in great shape, our Oline would be set for years looking like..

Williams/Davis-Levitre-POUNCEY-Wood-Green (maybe Bell is ready to play at RT). Not built for instant success but give that line a couple of years to develop and build chemistry it will be dominate for years.

    Dont be too brutal....

I thought Gailey said at the breakfast thing in Buffalo today that we had 9 picks in the draft ?? Although i don't know much about Gibson or Shipley the rest sounds OK besides the fact that Wood was a starting center at Louisville for at least 2 yrs so why wouldn't you go with one of the higher Guard prospects in the draft and switch Wood to center ?? Just askin . But it definitely sounds like you would be a much better candidate for future coach than a certain BILLS FAN that has written other posts here !!!

  11. I've known about NFL head coaches sleeping in their offices and spending 110 hour work weeks for years. But this Gailey guy, he doesn't even seem to have time to fit much in even during the off season. Just read some of his quotes:

"Our GM has spoken to him (Marshawn Lynch) I have not talked to him." - I say, why the hell not, Chan? He's only a former number one pick who is still extremely young, and if someone can figure out how to work with this kid, they could have a great running back for the next 8 years or so. Or even on the flip side. If you are too "important" to waste your time reaching out to one of your current players on your roster, just how many other teams are going to be interested in trading for him?

"He's an intelligent football player and I really enjoyed the short time I had with him....(Talking about Tim Tebows' Buffalo workout). What does Gailey mean, "short time" he had with him? Tebow was in Buffalo, working out only for the Buffalo Bills. Jim Kelly took the kid out to dinner. What other more important dinner plans did Chan have that night? Was he glued in front of his TV watching Dancing With The Stars? Was he and Buddy out shooting pool at their favorite honky tonk while Kelly spent "quality time" with a kid that just might end up being drafted by the Bills??

"We just started talking about terminology and implementation of what we're trying to do," Gailey said of his initial meeting with Edwards, Fitzpatrick and Brohm. "I haven't sat down and talked to (the QB's) about the situation. I haven't addressed that yet." That is a quote from TODAYS' Democrat and Chronicle. Here's the link below: http://www.democratandchronicle.com/articl...e-Bills-starter

Wow. So when exactly does Chan expect to "discuss the situation" with the three QB's he allegedly took so much time to study up on the past 3 months? After all, he's made his decision on what to do about the QB situation for his Buffalo Bills, right? He told us in no uncertain terms, he would know what direction he would be going in before free agency started. And here we are, about a month into free agency, and Chan has said nothing to anyone about what he and Nix allegedly decided over a month ago. The same three guys are here, wondering what the hell their roles are going to be, and workouts are starting and we are just a few weeks from the draft.

I guess Mike Holmgren has a different take on "making QB decisions." He dumped both guys from last year's team, and has already brought in two veterans to replace them. Now I'm not saying Delhomme and Wallace will be much better then Quinn or Anderson. But at least Holmgren showed his team that he will not accept the same old same old.

So far in free agency, Buddy Nix has shown we Bills fans that he is prepared to absolutely accept the same old same old from last years' players that currently take up the most important positions on the team. QB - same 3 guys. LT - same injured guys. NT - same 2 undersized DT's. WR - Same guys minus TO. And on top of that, Chan Gailey has been the busiest head coach in the NFL. Too bad nobody knows what the hell he spends all of that time doing.

Man this is the second post of yours i've read, after 2 i wish you would just become a fan for another team cause your attitude about this team sucks as bad as we did last year ---- or worse . Maybe you should send your resume to Mr. Wilson & become our next head coach cause it's pretty apparent no one knows as much about how to run or build a team the right way than you !!!! Drink a couple beers & chill out !!!

  12. Projecting that the Oakland Raiders make a logical pick may not be wise. If they pull another Darius Heyward-Bay then that gives Buffalo another quality player to choose from.

I also believe what 'nevergiveup' says he is hearing from his source(s), that Claussen will not be the guy.

Maybe Al will go for Dez Bryant that would be the logical pick for him . Then he would have book ends !!!

  13. They don't like to play in the heat. They see it as a disadvantage. What a bunch of crybabies!

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...afternoon-heat/

Unless you live in South Fla. you just don't get it .I am a Buffalo transplant & have lived here for 12 years :bag: , Aug & Sept

SUCK !!!! 89% humidity @ 95 degrees BLOWS CHUNKS !! The Florida sun is 10 times more intense than it is up north in th summer  I just work out in it & can't even imagine what it would be like to run full tilt for a couple hours off & on . But the NFL will change the starts times or have them build a dome when something like the Corey Stringer incident happens . I even think there has been more than one high school football player in the South Fla. area that has died due to the heat at practice & i believe one is still in the courts !!

  14. Have all the respect in the world for the Jets' OLine and the running game it generates.

Have all the respect for the Jets' defense and the schemes they run.

But let's be clear about why they marched to the AFC title game: the Colts took the second half off to rest their starters when they played the Jets and had they not done that the Jets never would have made the playoffs.

    GO BILLS!!!

    HOW SOON WE FORGET !!

  15. Did you see this article from the front page? http://www.buffalonews.com/2010/03/30/1004...-weightier.html

    And here's another one: http://blogs.buffalonews.com/billboard/201...m-overhaul.html

I STILL can't get over it!!

Reports differ over whether the 12 TVs were on the walls of the weight room or whether some were in the locker room, and I've also seen reports that five of the TVs were on the front panel of treadmills.

    But I don't freaking care.

Televisions in the weight room of a pro team are SO WRONG!!

Thank God Alllare is gone, though it's hard to know how much was Allaire and how much was Jauron.

I've been saying for months that three years in a row of huge amounts of injuries isn't coincidence, that something was wrong with the S&C program. Here's the evidence!

EDIT: Sorry, I tried to delete this thread when I realized that I couldn't see the video linked in the "NO MORE CLUB MED" thread. If that video goes over the same ground, I'd suggest that you use that thread.

Agreed !! That just goes to show you what a real head coach is all about .Which we haven't had for the last 3 years. But it's no wonder the guys liked Jauron so much. Trivia Question ? How many teams have won a championship riding a exercise bike and watching Days of our Lives ??? And the answer is ----------

  16. Oh yeah, great move by the sage Buddy Nix. Here's a kid that could not make it at wide receiver with Tom Brady throwing and that line blocking in 2006 and 2007. (Brady only threw for 50 TD passes in 2007.) I'm sure he'll light it up with Edwards/Fitzy/Brohm/??? throwing behind their 2010 line which looks like it will feature more rookies starting on it then even last years. Yes sir, I see only good things for Chad Jackson this season. Way better move then wasting Ralph's unspent money on a veteran WR like Bolden or even Antonio Bryant, right? You know, a WR who might actually know how to get off the line or change up his route to allow his QB to get a throw off before the inevitable sack??

But wait, I keep forgetting, Bill Walsh....er, I mean Chan Gailey is the Bills coach. He is an offensive genius, so I'm sure he and his assistants will "coach 'em up" just fine.

Yah Go figure i can't understand why he couldn't get Brady to barley look his way with Moss on one side and Welker (the 2 best friggin receivers in the bidsness!!) I think that was the year that Moss set a NFL record for single season receptions too wasn't it ?? oh but i could be mistaken cause it's very apparent that no one knows football talent like you !! :bag: !!! Maybe instead of a janitor you should be a GM or a talent scout in the NFL .Hey maybe you could show Ralph your credentials & be our next Head Coach ! brilliant absolutely brilliant !!!

  17. You have obviously never been apart of a football team. Everyone needs to be on board for a team to reach it's potential. Football teams have to act like a family because it is the ultimate trust and team game. Don't say it means nothing. I'm sure it means something to the guys who are going to block for him on Sundays.

MAN I LOVE THAT PICTURE !!!! WHAT DID YOU SAY ????

  18. The big story will be Marshawn Lynch's arrival.

From all the comments from Gailey and Nix, they are talking him up and want him to be here. BUT, I also remember reading something very recently that implied that Lynch had not been in touch with the team.

In the wake of all of his bad publicity, I wouldn't be surprised if Lynch doesn't want to play in Buffalo anymore. I will be very interested to see if Lynch comes in on day one.

I'd almost be willing to bet vital body parts that he won't be there but i would also be willing to be that Fred Jackson

    will be !!

  19. Any word or rumors on if the bills will finally change their uniforms this year? I am hoping for the throwback unis with a the white helmet but the same logo we have now.

Even if they went back to the Kelly era uni's that would be better than these ones  !!

  20. we didn't give this guy 300 carries...only 120 booooooo....

Marshawn just flat couldn't or didn't want to get it done last year . Even with the line we had Freddy still got over 1000 yds & if he would've had the same amount of carries as he had in the first 3 games before Marshawn came back when his carries went down he would've been up in yardage with Tomas Jones . Freddy is the Thurman of this team , attitude and all . Just shows what he's all about on the field , no grill , no dancin , just pure performance that Action Jackson !!!

  21. OK so what we have now is Trent, Fitz and Brohm. Per Nevergiveup, we might have Trent as QB next year.

Can The Chan fix what we have?? We know what we have in Fitz, he is a decent but not great backup and can win a couple of games if the starter gets hurt.

But right now I am unsure he can get Trent back to were he was before the Arizona game in 08.

If Chan can get Edwards to play at a decent level IMO it will be one of great coaching jobs in recent years. I think he would have a better shot at coaching Brohm up, at least he tried to get the ball to his wideouts in the one game he played.

    what do y'all think???

Everybody is so down on Trent & says he can't get it down field go to youtube and check out Trent Edwards Highlight Mix if Gailey can get a good OL in front of him so he knows he's not going to get crusifide each time he drops back he can be a really good QB , he just needs a confidence booster the dude has got to be shell shocked & i don't blame him with the siv of a OL he had to work behind . Just check out his 2008 season high lights & see the difference with a half way decent line . But leave it to Jauron to trade or just let people walk & not bring in any experience line man so he can screw up another possible QB prospect . If we should be pissed we are pissed at the wrong people . We may have had 2 QB's that under the right coach may have been able to be decent in the NFL but were ruined before they hit there stride all thanks to one coach's decisions .In 2006 Losman threw for 3057 yard & was the 11th highest QB in the league by 08 his confidence was trashed (Jaurons coaching) 2008 Edwards was a up & comer led us to 4 or 5 -- 4th quarter come backs & had the team & fans believing in him too (in steps great head coach) LET'S GET RID OF THE WHOLE OL & START ALL OVER BRILLIANTS !!! Let Gailey do his thing & i think we'll all jump back on the wagon .
