  1. For a guy to comeback to the NFL after he was drinking Jack Daniels on his couch thinking about retirement.. His first game back he puts up better numbers than Aaron Rodgers vs the NFL's number 1 rated defense.. He looked a bit rusty on his first couple drives and had the pick six.. but once he started getting into a rhythm he showed that this offense can be very dangerous.. once he builds a chemistry with his receivers I'm very excited about the potential we have with Orton going forward.. I know its only one game.. but you have to be somewhat optimistic about where this team can go if he continues to play like he did Sunday minus the pick six

Can we just refrain from making threads after one game? Will people ever learn and just let things play out for even 2 or 3 weeks?

  2. Thanks for posting the article.

    My quick thoughts from this:

    • Guards obviously are really bad but would like to see what happens in 2 weeks (Suh this week) when there isn't an all-pro talent across them.
    • I didnt need him to tell me how bad EJ looked or is but this magnified it by 10x. Could you imagine how good this team could be with even a Matt Ryan at QB?
    • Hackett (again maybe it was the limitations of Manuel) really needs to take advantage of the playmakers on this team. He is incredibly unimaginative on a team that has more game-breaking speed/ability then probably 28 of the 32 teams.

Looking forward to seeing what Orton can do.

  3. The Bills should have benched Hackett. 23 runs and 44 passes against one of the worst rushing defenses and best pass rusher in the NFL. Way to attack your adversary's weaknesses Junior. This basically finishes EJ in Buffalo. Now that he's a Duncan Butterfly, this is JP Losman redux. You can't treat your starter like a yoyo. It's over. Time to start looking for the next franchise QB.

Don't like Hackett, but EJ has the worst QBR of any qb still playing and has seen his rating and completion % regress every week.

  4. The only people that believe EJ is any good, or will get better with time are people who know nothing about football and EJ fanboys. He was just as incompetent in Florida. He's had plenty of time to show improvement, and turret he still shows the same poor me mechanics and inaccuracy. The sooner Pegula fires this useless coaching staff, and make EJ the water boy, the better.

    This. These threads are pointless.

This reminds me of the infamous trade Skelton for Mario thread because Skeltons numbers resembled an early John Elway. They really didn't because the game has changed, the QB position is far more important than it ever was. I don't believe in EJ, not because I don't want to but because when you actually watch him with an unbiased attitude you see that he is not an NFL QB. We win in spite of him, never because of him.

Hope more than anything he proves me wrong however.

  5. Reports earlier this year indicated Kelly wanted to be given a percentage of the team and lifetime jobs for him and his brother for being involved with a potential ownership group. It didn't really sound like he was interested in actually purchasing (part of) the team.

This as well as the post above about not doing business with him. Great guy but were I the Pegulas I wouldn't let him snag a stake.

  6. I have always believed if you build it they will come. With the Bills as secure as they can be in WNY, why not Toronto as an expansion team in 5-7 years with a new stadium? Canadian folks are still going to go the Ralph rather than stay in puritan southern Ontario for a real footbal experience. The economic market of southern Ontario is too compelling for the NFL to ignore opver the long-term.

Also why not re-align the divisions more geographically with Buf-Tor-Cle-Pit-Det as one Divsion... All of these places are within a maximum 4-5 hour drive of one another and the rivalries would be fantastic in person and for the TV networks.. Living part-time in S. Florida, the Bills "rivalry" with Miami is non-existent and really has not mattered much in the past 15 years so I don't buy the old "lets keep the old AFL teams together" scenario.... thoughts?

no. The NFL will not expand from 32 teams and as of right now the only team that has serious mover potential is St. Louis and frankly I don't know if we are gonna see another team get ripped up and moved somewhere else. The world (mostly media) has changed drastically in the past decade and I really don't know if the league could handle the backlash.

  7. I honestly like Russ I just think when you have had the lack of success we have had the past 15 years everyone needs to be called into questions. Its one of those things that I wouldn't be terribly sorry to see him go but wouldn't be upset if he was kept either.

One of the things I do like is how into it he is, hearing about him shoving people into lockers when we beat the Bears (for some is a negative) is a positive to me because I like when there is an emotional reward as well as monetary with winning. He wants to win and hopefully we have finally found a way to do it.
