Did the Bills make any other Waiver transactions during the year? If so, they may have dropped back to the end of the line, unless it continually updates each week.
-
Ed Reed was all class in that game. I have always liked him as a player, but my impression of him went up significantly after watching his interaction with the Bills on the field. It appeared to me that, especially with some of the younger players he went out of his way after a play to say something that was well received.

I really don't care why they are parsing it like this. Like when they cut Edwards, and moving back to the 4-3 they are showing they are not afraid to make changes when things are not working. Yes, we can all say they should have known better but at least they are not afraid to 'admit' their mistakes and move on when necessary.
Now we just have to hope they stop making mistakes and start putting a productive team on the field.

I know people are getting on CG for switching mid-stream again, but I get the sense that the move was made to see if they could make use of our undersized ends, especially Maybin. People, including myself did think that Maybin may be a better fit as an OLB in a 3-4 and have a chance to be an impact player off the edge. Now that he has shown absolutely no indication of being a productive player as an OLB or otherwise they have decided to switch to the 4-3.

Is it okay to swing by with my 14yr old? Don't know when we will get back here for a game and would like him to experience a real tailgate.

I will be driving in from Massachusetts with my son this weekend. He will be attending his first NFL game. We laughed yesterday saying that we will either get to see one of the only Bills wins this season, or MJD run for the NFL single game rushing record.
Fortunately, we also have seats for the Sabres home opener on Saturday, so the weekend should not be a total loss.

What if we beat the Jets and then the Jags?
I for one would be very happy since I am making my first trek back to Buffalo in a while for the Jags game with my 14 yr old son. He has grown up in Pats* territory, but is a true Bills fan.
I am hedging my bets on seeing a winning team by also going to the Sabres home opener on Saturday night.

The odds either way were ****ty.
The term Kobayashi Maru came to mind at that moment during the game.
We are discussing two things that each had a miniscule chance of working. You can disagree with which one he chose, but it is clear that we have a coach that is thinking about the strategy options during the game. Now we just need somebody to execute them effectively.

So to summarize, the Bills are coming off a 6-10 season that had 20+ on IR, and a rookie OC with and an inept Head Coach (for most of the season). They come into this year with the same, if not a little better talent overall, and are being talked about as one of the worst teams ever!!
CG can only take that as a complete dismassal of his ability as a head coach, and I am sure the players know that. I think this team is going to be playing with a collective chip on their shoulder all year, which will only raise their level of play. The only positive that could be said about DJ is that the players would show up for him every week. Of course, we all know he had no clue what to do with them once they got there. I think CG did a very positive thing on building that us against the world mentality when he blasted those fans at training camp. Even more helpful is the fact that the players have expressed optimism on his approach to the game.
A team always plays better when they feel they have something to prove. Their talent is clearly not championship level, but I think they will be out to prove they are not the worst team ever each week, and are going to suprise a lot of people. beginning this week.

Looking to take a road trip with my son for the game against Jax, and hopefully the Sabres game the night before.
He has spent all of his 14 years 5 miles from Foxboro, but is a die-hard Bills fan, and I would much rather have him see the his first game at the Ralph.
Any information would be appreciated.

I can't vote for just one...
My favorites in no particular order are:
Bull Durham (has it all)
Field of Dreams
Rocky
Slapshot
and the one not on the list:
Remember the Titans

Wait, I thought we hated Peter King...according to Bullpen's list of hatred. Something positive from King? Is this allowed on this board?
Not quite...if you follow the link you will see that the quote is preceeded by two full pages dedicated to his pal Brady, with both on and off the field insights.
Now that King lives in NE, I am sure this just a preview of what we will get going forward.

Another way to look at it is that a win probably would have just delayed the inevitable.
Jauron would still have screwed up his share of games and he likely would have missed the play-offs; but, if we had won that game, they may have been able to chalk it up to the injuries and give him another year.

You're livin' in the past, man! You're hung up on some clown from the sixties, man!
Quick trivia....Who played the clown?

Since they have announced that Fewell is getting interviewed on Monday, they may invite scrutiny to how they complied with the Rooney Rule if it was clearly evident that a deal was in place.
Not saying that Carucci is wrong, but just another way that the information may be spinning inside the stadium.
I am hoping for great news on Tuesday, but have been a fan too long not to expect to be dissapointed.

I will NOT see it for the first time sober. I think it has watch-me-after-eating-brownies written all over it.
I would have to agree, unfortunately I will be bringing my 9 yr old son

Is that a pretty good flick? I've had it in my Netflix queue forever.
Definitely a guy's film. We wore out the VHS tape of it in college.
It provides plenty of great lines besides just "They took my thumb!!"
-
why is freddy on an interview?
yeah i didnt get that either
Maybe he meant as a full-time #1 starter, which could impact the team's approach to Lynch in the off-season.
-
I only wish the Saints happened to be one of the Pats* juggernaut victims back in '07. If that were the case, the Saints could have put up 70 on them last night!!!
I find it ironic that down 21 Brady sits, but back in 07, and even earlier this year againt the Titans, when they were up by more than 21 Brady played the whole game.

Chris Brown reported The Bills said the surgery was successful. I'm guessing we won't know if it's career ending until he starts to rehab and tries to play.
I read last week that EW said it was a 6 - 8 month rehab and he hoped to be ready for training camp next year:
-
And he might the second coming of Hank Bullough.
The only way Fewell gets the HC job is for the Bills to win the remaining games, make the playoffs, and win the SB.
Other than that:
Shake his hand, give him a hearty pat on the back, and show him the exit.
This entire coaching staff (except for April, MAYBE) needs to go. Period.
Agreed. I also think the team will be lucky to win 3 games the rest of the way.
-
If he can win 4 they would have a tough call, especially if we take down one of the big boys.
That would make the team 7-9!! They'll have to give him a 3 yr contract
-
If Fewell gets 5 or more wins with this team in its current condition and this remaining schedule, than I don't see how they could not give him the job full time as he might be the 2nd coming of Lombardi.
11/22 @ Jacksonville Jaguars 1:00 pm
11/29 MIAMI DOLPHINS 1:00 pm
12/03 NEW YORK JETS (Toronto) 8:20 pm
12/13 @ Kansas City Chiefs 1:00 pm
12/20 NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS 1:00 pm
01/03 INDIANAPOLIS COLTS 1:00 pm
12/27 @ Atlanta Falcons 4:05 pm
They will not be favored in any of those games, and will be at least a 7pt underdog in the last 3.
