He definitely does not need to be a Hall of Fame caliber receiver to justify picking him at 9.

An offensive lineman at 9 would be a mistake IMO. A d-lineman I would be happy with. Offensive line you can find better value after the 1st round.

The only thing that scares me about Metcalf is his injury history. Beyond that he's a physical and athletic freak who loves the game of football and is known as a workout warrior. Yeah I'll take that player at 9 any year. Of course some guy on a podcast saying we'll take him doesn't mean anything.

Top 10 Oline picks have some of the highest hit rates (aka not busts) versus most every other position. This can be an 8-year guy that you just don't have to worry about. WR's are much more risky historically.  We already have risk at the QB position, I would not double down on that with a risky WR.

I doubt we'll have a top 12 passing offense and right now our top 2 RB's are over 30. I definitely think our 3rd RB could get a lot of snaps. Also, our OL is average. There is not a single probowl caliber player there. Still, that's a big improvement.

No one knows any of the above as of April 16th, 2019.

    TBD

He created the salary cap dead money issue. He threw away 2018 season and dismantled first playoff team in 17 years

He is partially complicit in the QB situation to start 2018.

His first FA class was terrible

The best player on the team was chosen by McD/Whaley

I love Allen and Beane's fate is sealed with him

This is it. Great QB's make for great GM's. Excellent QB's can hide a lot of roster warts.
