Chan Gailey (pictured) upset after what's being reported as a cost cutting move no longer allows coaches to have hats on the sideline.
-
Absolutely. I don't think Marcell or Merriman would be a surprise though, which is why I didn't mention them.
At this point, any Bill that has a breakout year is going to be at least a mild surprise. This has been a punchles/starless team for a decade. Take nothing for granted.
-
no one betting on Big Marcell? I'll take that guy as a lock. he's going to be a force.
-
That's just what OBD needs: another guy that probably can't play QB longterm for this team...
-
FYI, for those interested, I have a bridge for sale.
-
If this claim were true then you'd think the players in the locker room would have had a clue too...Clearly that hasn't been the case with all the bitching and moaning Drayton Florence spewed on twitter after it was announced.
-
Looks like Donte taught DF how to "backle" which never turns out well.
-
Why do we have to jump on the ownership for every front office move. Go yell at Buddy and Chan as this is their choice.
Buddy builds his team with "bigger" people. One of the reasons he brought Craig Davis from SD to here. While I think they traded the wrong WR (Parrish instead of Evans), I don't think the owner has anything to do here. As another poster said, this franchise should have had a Buddy kind of GM in 2000...They hoped Donahoe would have been that, but all he waanted was revenge against the Steeler (For kicking him out in favor of the Chin).
Fair enough, but do you honestly think this franchise can be a contender again with its current owner? I like Buddy and Chan just as much as the next guy, and while the Evans move probably wasn't 100% about salary dumping, they still clearly have to work within a small budget.
Buster Davis is not a savior or a drag and drop for Evans. I'd be surprised if he even made the team.

Nothing changes until the ownership does. This franchise has been "rebuilding" for more than a decade.

Enjoy the playoffs, Lee.

Actually, through no fault of the Bills specifically, there is a very reasonable chance to land Andrew Luck. It will take another year of TRUE suckitude -again, through no fault of the Bills specifically:
This lockout/legal challenge to the core priniciples of the game could take so long to resolve as to wipe out the entire season. If so, next years' draft line up will be duplicated. Carolina has their QB -with no chance to FAIL, Denver has Tebow + others, so guess who steps up the podium with Andrew Luck on their card...
If this monsterous legal battle is resolved with any real time left for a shortened season this year, THAT'S the day we run out of luck for Luck.
If there isn't a season, I thought next year's draft would be a weighted lottery of sorts not an exact replica?
-
Sure, I mean why would drafting the consensus #1 defensive lineman in the country give you ANY reason to believe your team would be any better. Nahhh. He'll probably make us WORSE right?
Exactly. And even if they don't improve and go 4-12 again they still won't be in play for Luck. This D is going to have a whole new identity and won't get pushed down the field as much, plus and another season of Fitz/Chan will only help the O as well. IMO, the only way they take a step back is if Fitz gets a long term injury early in the year. I don't think Levi and some TBD third QB are going to be able to hold the fort down for an extended period.
-
I hope not too up , I want Luck! lol..no but i'm extremely pleased with our draft and I think that the future looks bright for us.
This team will not be in play for Luck. No chance.

I can't watch ESPN. I think the Geneva Convention has outlawed watching Berman for more than 5 minutes as an act of torture. His schtick has gotten so old. I have heard him making up stupid nicknames for the last time. Thank goodness there's the NFL Network.
He...could...go...WE GET IT.
-
From when I first saw him he broke the Chan hiring, and the Spiller draft...
I need help folks, my brain just turned to mush. There were other things that NGU broke before media outlets did. I just can't remember right now.
he has also stated that not only is he not Jim Kelly, but we fans think Jimbo has way more insight into the inner workings of Nix and Co. than he really does.
-
I am not questioning NGU at all, but can someone give a rundown of the other scoops that have been provided?
broke chan gailey as the coach choice hours before an announcement of any sort. chan was so far out of left field as we know.
-
man, I was really hoping that all this Cam talk was going to amount to nothing. the fact that he's seemingly atop their draft board is disheartening to say the least. I pray he's not available at #3.
-
all those past Pats/Bills trades have worked out so well...
-
I'm very interested in seeing how Easley looks. He was looking like a stud in camp prior to his injury. It also sounded like he was healthy mid way through the year.
-
I'd rather watch him dance:
-
The expectations that a #3 overall pick has to be a pro-bowler or is a bust is
just flat unrealistic. You HOPE to get an outstanding player, expect to get a solid
starter and dread missing completely like they did with Maybin.
I get that, but this team has been whiffing on picks for a decade for the most part. If there's a time to really put some lofty expectations on a pick, it's the #3 this year. Like I said, this team needs a star(s). Would I settle for 8-year solid starter? Yes.
-
I'm at the point where I don't care. All I ask of Nix is he gets a guy that:
a) doesn't play RB
b) can contribute in a meaningful way within rookie year
c) becomes perennial pro bowler
Aside from that I don't care what position he plays or who he is. This team is in serious need of stars and the #3 pick is the spot to get one. Don't fudge this up, Buddy.
Jacksonville to release Garrard

they can always go an resign Trent! They clearly have to get Gabbert going this year to get him some playing time. Jack Del Rio may be looking for work in the off season though...Who would argue that Thigpen is a better option than Garrard though? not me.
