  1. A "front office enigma" is exactly what this team needs. Of course Ralph won't do it... He doesn't know what you have to do in the NFL to be successful. As far as next year... I think we need to resign Fred and Stevie. Whether they are "elite" is irrelevant, they are capable starters on a team of mostly low average talent. We need to overhaul the defense... whether than means cleaning house or changing schemes, I'm all for it. Definitely need more help at OLB, CB, and yeah we need DE's that actually can RUSH THE PASSER. Or offensive line is just not good enough. A lot of the yards Fred has, have been a result of tough running. Our line is not opening up big holes either... Just ask CJ. Also the best way to help Fitz become more accurate would be to have a line that can create a nice passing pocket. Not the case this year. WR's... Nelson is a nice slot guy and Smith might be able to get some nice grabs but we need a #2 WR to stretch the field. An AJ Green would be perfect. Bottom line, there's still a ton of holes on this team
  2. While Fitz had lost his fair share of games, I do agree that the stat was a little deceiving. If you remember Fitz was a more effective QB than Trent when they both played on the same team. Either way... Yeah Ryan Fitzpatrick is a mid-level QB. Our hope is to get some good players around him because he won't win on his own
  3. Remember the CJ comparisons when Buffalo drafted Spiller in 2009. Gruden said what a star he would be... Looks like Chucky was wrong Still it will be interesting to see Chris Johnson and CJ Spiller in th same game
  4. He's a great marketing guy because he's found a way to sell out a 70,000 seat stadium about 75% with an inferior product, in a depressed economy. How many NFL teams have seen attendance/interest decline during losing season? Theres a lot... And when this happens profits aren't as high as they should be, hence "rebuilding." Most owners have a sense of urgency, partly because a winning team means MORE money for everyone associated with the team in the city. Of course, we have the one owner who has ZERO sense of urgency, despite being 90 FREAKIN years old. Honestly, I do think Ralph wants to win but he is too closed-minded and out-of-touch to realize what you have to do to compete in the NFL in 2011. Until the team is in another's owners control, we all know we'll never see the postseason. And that's sad Good to know that it's obvious that the Bills will never see a postseason game until Ralph steps out of the way
  5. This is a very intelligent rationale for some of the lofty expectations in here. Thank you very much for sharing and allowing me see the other viewpoint.
  6. Russ Brandon is a FANTASTIC marketing exec. That is where he should stay. From what I've been told, he didn't have as much of a say in personnel decisions -- it was Modrak, John Guy and Jauron. I would not call elevating Buddy as a "rebuild." Once again, Ralph was hesitant to look outside his organization and give a proven GM power and control of the team. Buddy had been working as a scout prior to becoming GM, and the 2009 draft was lately unsuccessful. A true "rebuild" would be hiring someone from outside the organization to start over, clean house, and bring in or find "his people" to put together a winning team. This Nix "rebuild" is no different than the Levy "rebuild." Too many members of the failing team are still in place.
  7. Thank you sir.... I am a frustrated fan and the incompetence is unacceptable. I don't mean to e negative but the same fans who are saying "in Buddy we trust" are the ones who supported Dick Jauron or thought JP Losman would be a franchise QB. Enough is enough
  8. Why? It takes teams maybe three years to rebuild... It takes Buffalo 11 and counting.... I like a team of huge Losers!
  9. Chan's future in Buffalo can be predicted by a simple equation: No playoffs = no excuses = no job Chan gets the axe if we don't make the playoffs....done
  10. Many Bills fans consider this franchise to be in "year two" of the rebuilding process. However they forget that this franchise has been "rebuilding" since 2001. Allow me to explain: 2001-2005 Tom Donahoe Era. Donahoe inherited a team on salary cap hell and did a decent job of finding talent. The problem was he had a huge ego and hired young, subservient coaches as opposed to strong leaders. He really bombed big in Buffalo, but give Ralph credit for giving the money and power to someone from the outside with a proven track record and experience. Sadly this would be the ONLY time Ralph would venture outside his comfort zone. 2006-2008 The Marv Levy Era - Wilson coaxed former coach Levy into the GM role. Marv had little interest in the job and his tenure was a disaster, marred by his poor selection of Dick Jauron as head coach and several poor draft picks. He was seen as more of a "figure head" thana true GM, as the remaining members of Donahoe's failed staff stayed to do day-to-day operations. 2008-2009 The Faux GM When Marv stepped down Wilson replaced him with......NO ONE. Russ Brandon was named president but once again, Donahoe's flunkies were running the show with input from Jauron. Once again these teams were very bad. The Buddy Nix Era - Jury is still out, though the results are not encouraging. In two years, Buddy took a team that was 6-10 and went 4-12. This year we may be lucky to get to 6-10. So in two years we might actually be no better off. Buddy's draft record is suspect at best, with the big miss on underperforming CJ Spiller. The talent he has found on this team are overachievers who work hard, but are not elite NFl players. So that's 11 years of rebuilding.... 4 different eras.... 0 playoff wins.... And countless frustrations for the good people of WNY. Whether you blame Donahoe, Jauron, Modrak, or Bledsoe there has been ONE constant here.... Old Man Wilson. UNTIL THIS TEAM IS UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP THEY WILL FOREVER BE A LOSING FRANCHISE -- mark my words. We can't win with Wilson's loser mentality!
  11. I have to agree... Losing out would be the best thing for this team. A 7-9 record means little change in the offseason
  12. DeShawn is an amazing player. When you have Donald Jones and Ruvell Maryin as active WR's, how could you NOT sign him? I would sign him in a heartbeat, though I have a feeling New England brings him in and he plays hard for Brady and Belichick
  13. If you recall Marshawn seldom played like this in Buffalo, though it could have been due to his pathetic offensive line/coaching.
  14. Tebow has gotten better over th coarse of the year..Fitz has gotten worse. Go Tebow. Since our crappy Bills suck, it will be nice to route for Tebow in January
  15. I wish I wasn't but... 12 years without playoffs, countless busted draft picks that end up being productive for other teams, and a antiquated owner who selects subpar individuals to run this team. Yeah I am HUMILIATED to be a Bills fan, especially when they completely let us down (again) this year. I hope all of you "7-9 is better than 4-12" people are happy watching OTHER teams play in January because I'm sure not. This was a 7-9 team BEFORE we started "rebuilding" with Buddy Nix. We actually got worse after firing Jauron. Face it - We are a pathetic franchise. No matter how many illogical yet positive comments people write, we know it's true. The Bills are a really really really poorly run franchise and they are an embarrassment to the good people of WNY. SCREW YOU RALLH WILSON AND BILLS FRONT OFFICE....WE DESERVE BETTER
  16. Troupe does suck.... I guess he's had a bad back since he started playing for us. Just another wasted draft pick. We need a real fat bastard in the middle to take up space, not some bad draft pick
  17. You guys are crazy... Apparently you're happy with the "rebuilding process" lasting 10 years?
  18. At least you can admit that this is a crappy franchise - te epitome of losing is right here in Buffalo
  19. Even at full-strength this team had some good breaks and luck. All teams have injuries, good ones find ways to overcome them. Look at Green Bay last year. This is not a good team. This is a crap team and you are entrenched in the culture of losing by making excuses for them. I love the Bills but they are pathetic and unlike you, I don't like cheering for a futile franchise
  20. Right there is definitely something foul-smelling about this franchise.
  21. Face it.... We cheer for a team if losers. We'll always be losers until Ralph sells the team and changes the culture of losing
  22. Theres a lot of good people in these forums who try to find positives in this team. I admire your outlook but let's gets serious, this season was a failure of big proportions. It makes me sick to hear things like "oh we'll at least we beat New England" or "well we are better than we thought they'd be." Who cares? This is the same loser mentality that's the reason we haven't been competitive for over a decade. It's annoying that so many fans are content with losing, or are cool with people laughing when you tell them you're a Bills fan, or are ok with a team that consistently delivers a poor product year-after-year. "well a losing team is better than NO team," they'll say. Are you sure about that? I'd rather have these losers out of my town. Face it, until things change and this team is sold, this culture of losing will continue. It starts at the top with Ralph and the men he hires to work for him. It trickles down from here. The Buffalo Bills are considered a joke by most NFL fans and they deserve to carry that reputation with them F
