  1. I know Nassib is a big local favorite, but I just don't see it with him. With the team that we currently have, and the plan that Nix has vaguely laid out (getting a WR so stevie can move inside), I can't help but think that our pick at QB will be a guy that is more of a plug n play guy, and to me that's not Nassib. Obviously, I'm on record as a big Geno Smith Fan, however, if he indeed does go before we pick, I think a guy like Tyler Wilson would be a much better fit than Nassib. Living in SEC country, I've had plenty of opportunity to watch Wilson under center @ Arkansas, and while he has had his ups and downs, I think his skill set and upside is exactly what we are looking for moving forward.

  2. Those names sound good to you because you are a Bills fan. Some of them could not make a lot of other teams rosters.

nope, thats not the case, all of these guys were high rated draft picks except stevie. Now, some didnt pan out with their first teams, but have rebounded to become solid players.

Matter of fact which ones couldnt make another teams roster?

  3. Fine but what is the actual evidence the Bills have all this talent and it's just being misused?

the roster is the evidence, jim.

aside from QB we have guys at every position that are quality players, we need better lbs, some wr depth, and a Qb.

spiller, johnson, graham, chandler, wood, urbik, levitre, glenn, mario, anderson, dareus, kw, byrd, searcy, gilmore, brooks, and young guys like shep and bradham are still developing. thats a great group of relatively young talent.

  4. What makes you think they are so talented? I read this all the time but never proof.

again, having talent, which we do, and getting that talent to reach its maximum potential through proper coaching and training, gameplanning etc is a different story.

Think about it like this: I have a super bouncy ball, if i drop it from waist level it may bounce up to me eye level but never much higher, even though it has the potential to do so, however if I were to throw it down as hard as possible it would bounce really high. Get it.

  5. it'll be between Aj and Bridgewater next yr for the top QB spot. McCarron is similar to Brady IMO, hes a big lanky douche thats cool under pressure, will rip into his teammates without hesitation, deadly Accurate, and smart with the football and a big game winner. I don't really care about his Tattoo either, but i'm sure that will become an "issue" for some.

  6. Now that we know who the coach of the Bills is going to be, we can at least guess the TYPE of QB. He has to be smart, disciplined accurate and able to run the WEST Coast Offense. That would leave out Geno Smith, Tyler Bray, and maybe Wilson. Barkley and Nassib are the only ones that fit the system.

Why does that exclude Smith or Wilson?

How a QB performs on a high pressure stage doesn't mean spit? I'll agree that it's only 1 game, and is a small piece of the evaluation process, but it certainly matters...

High pressure stage? Not all bowl games matter. Lasts night Cotton bowl meant very little except for cash and bragging rights. The Pinstripe bowl...nothing at stake. Now, that Fiesta bowl, little on the line.

Point being, its just 1 game, many times a meaningless game. Plus there's the whole month layover. Its just not a valid measure IMO

QB: I know Ralph said he’d be going after a Franchise QB, but he isn’t deciding anymore….Maybe the head coach (especially Chip Kelly or Mike McCoy) likes a falling Geno Smith (because of his performance vs Syracuse) or reaches for Wilson or maybe Tajh Boyd or Optimus Klein. I think this is a flawed QB class, and I think the new Head Coach (I like Kelly-McCoy-Hudson-Smith in that order) will agree, and pick elsewhere, opting for the QB-rich 2014 class.

1:Buddy nix said he's going after a QB, and Yes, he's still in charge.

2:Bowl Games are not a deciding factor, predraft workouts, interviews, reg season game tape, and the Combine mean a whole lot more

3: Is this a joke? Seriously, this kid has ABSOLUTELY no chance of playing QB in the NFL, none, zip, zilch, zero.

  9. USC defense has had some studs over the years, I gotta disagree w ya on Boyd though......he made "the jump" this season

LSU was swarming him....he got smashed by blitzer on every play and still gutted out 300 yards and a win...

"Tajh Boyd was phenomenal," LSU coach Les Miles said. "I did not expect the heroic, if you will, efforts that he had."

again, not to say he can't develop, but he is not a plug n play guy right now if he were to come out. Another yr would benefit him very much. Also, yes, USC has had some great players recently, but what do you think NFL teams are comprised of?

  10. I believe I heard that he changed up his defensive philosophy in the more recent years, away from that terrible Tampa-2 defense. If he wants to bring the Tampa-2 defense here, no way, no thanks.

Just like the 34, there are different variations of the tampa 2. Just cause Jauron couldnt run it doesnt mean Lovie Cant. His defenses have as much as proven that much. Plus, we played alot of cover 2 principles this year already. In the end its not about the "name" of the scheme, just hope it works.

  11. Just going out on a limb here but I think the defenders Thurman played against were about 20lbs lighter on average. I have no doubt Spiller can carry the ball 20+ times a game. But to use Peterson as the arguement is a bit silly. 30 other teams use a running back by committee. Lots of factors of course but CJ's highest number of carries was also his lowerxt YPC of the seaon. Take away the 66 yard pass and he was held in check most of the day. It will also be interesting to see what happens to Peterson next year and to see if the workload carries over to next season.

Thats just it though, you can't take that away, thats part of his game, our game, its part of the deal. If you take away the catches Thurman had out of the backfield he wouldn't look as good either. CJ is a guy that you get the football in different ways. He has shown incredible improvement running b/t the tackles, but you always want to get him the ball in space. CJ is the guy that can be held in check for every play then BAM, lightning strikes and he scores a 66 yd TD. Thats what you get in CJ Spiller, he is not a pound it in the middle 35X/game for 3.5 yds/carry guy.
