  1. We probably agree more than you seem to think. The thing is, sometimes a player being "good" in fact, or even in some abstract way doesn't justify an early selection. We drafted a part time gimmick player at #9, and our OL and front 7 speak for themselves.

Again, I suspect things will change this season. Ralph will probably make them select a QB in the first round, and it appeared last year that he let them do what they wanted after round 1.

As bad as things are now, I am of the opinion that the Bills will be a much better team next season.

It all depends on how our offseason goes. We have a lot of potential with guys like stevie, Evans, Spiller, Williams, Poz, MCKELVIN, Byrd...etc, but we need a) A franchise QB, which will be chosen round 1 b) a linebackers and c) d-lineman and d) Right tackle. Lets see how Merriman plays out. He could be a potential gem in the rough. We have been playing great offensively, with Fitzy as our QB. Imagine what gailey can do with Luck or Mallet! If Buddy plays his cards right, we may have a playoff team as early as next year. But thats a big IF.

  2. He was beaten a couple times yesterday, and missed a tackle. Otherwise he looked sound. Hes also had some very nice plays this year. This is basically only his second year in the league, as he was hurt almost all of last year. Before everyone is talking about how he's our new shutdown corner, and now everyones calling him a bust. He'll be fine, along with CJ.

  3. I just dont see him staying in Stanford for another year. If he knows he'll be a top 3 pick, he will come out, no doubt about it. There is just too much to risk not coming out this year. I will personally guarantee that Andrew Luck will be a Buffalo Bills by April.

  4. I'm not sure if we are getting better.

We are winless. We at least won 6 games last year, with mostly the same team *and* a lot of injuries. We are relatively healthy this year, but we aren't good enough to win a game.

Part of me agrees with you... in some ways we look a lot better. But, looking better, doesn't mean we are better as our record seems to indicate.

I just wish we could do something right. Our offense seems to be ok, but then we turn it over too often... our defense has been surprisingly ok the last couple games, but not good enough to get crucial stops. Not to mention we never force turn overs. Our special teams have been incredibly disappointing. I feel like we never get good returns. And we seem to miss kicks that should be made.

We didnt have the same team. Dont forget that Aaron Schobel was a big part of our defense, and our only good pass rusher. That is why we got turnovers, and that is why we were able to win last year. This year we aren't making enough big plays of defense. There is no pressure on the quarterback, therefore he is not making arrant throws to our defense. IF our offense had played like this last year, there is no doubt we would've made it to the playoffs.

  5. Our team IS getting better. I dont care what our record is. We are starting to compete against good teams. We are on the rise, unlike the past few years. We have some young guys stepping up (ie Johnson, Parrish, Bell) and we are becoming exciting to watch again, and thats really what its about. This will be a year to build off of, no matter what our record will turn out to be.

  6. Not working? We're putting up plently of points and passing yards. We're ranked somewhere in the middle in the NFL in rushing yards per game. Gailey saw, just like the rest of us, that we would have to beat these guys passing today.

Another reason why gailey is throwing a lot is because of our line. If you run 2nd and 3rd down, and gain only 1 or 2 yards, we set ourselves up for failure as our line cant protect Fitz for that long. That is why our 3rd down % is higher than it was in a looong time. Dont tell me this offense isnt more exciting now. We have a Patriots/Indy style offense, that we're running pretty effectively. Dick Jauron ran the ball quite a bit, and how did that work out for us? We were put in 3rd and longs, then sack or short dumpoff. Fitzy has to focus on not throwing costly picks. That has been our biggest problem on offense. Not the type of offense we're running.

  7. First of all since i was there today, and even though we lost, i enjoyed my first ever bills game. It was a great game, but the bills unfortunately lost at the end. To tell you the truth, the crowd in TO was pretty good today. It was almost sold out, i would say about 46-4700 were there today, but WAYY to many bears fans.

About the team, this is the first time in a long time where i think we are truly headed in the right direction. Yes, we're 0-8, but could be 4-4 just as easily. This is the best offense we've had in years. I believe if we give Fitz a whole offseason to develop, and have many reps with the starters in Training Camp, he will turn some of his late game INTS into W'S for us. Hes doing this w/o much of a line. And what about Stevie Johnson? 10 catches for 150. Hes really coming around, along with Roscoe.

As for the defense, we have been playing better the last couple games, but this is the main concern with this team. If Merriman can play like his old self again, and we pick up a few Front 7 personall via draft or free agency, we can suddenly become a playoff contendor.

Dont tell me this team isnt better than last year. I dont give a squat what their record is. If this years team had last years schedule, i think we have 4-5 wins. Remember, our division is one of the toughest in the league, and we got the 3rd toughest schedule. But WE ARE COMPETING! Thats what you want in a rebuilding year. This team will only get better from here. In fact, i think we've already seen an improvment since week 1. Thats what this seasons about. With a few more good draft picks and free agent signings, we could be well on our way to the playoffs. GO BILLS!

  8. Yesterdays game will be one that we as a team, build off of. We didnt get the win, but we took one of the NFL's best into Overtime. After many years of playing competitive soccer and hockey, i know the feeling. When you are a underdog, and start competing against the great teams, your team morale rises. This will be a game that we look back to in a couple of years from now. Bills fans, the brighter times are coming, just hand in there. GO BILLS!

  9. I dont know if you guys have noticed, but we have played MIAMI, JETS, NE, GREENBAY AND BALTIMORE in 5 of our first 6 games. We compteted in 3 or those 5, and really couldve easily one three of them. Now the Jacksonville game i dont know about, but they seem like a mediocre team. Now we got KC, CHI AND DET. So before you guys start calling this team to go winless, or the worst in the nfl, lets see how they do angainst some weaker competition. If they play like the did today, i believe we can win 5-6 games. We'll see what happens. GO BILLS!

  10. Spiller isnt a bust. He has 26 carries for 126 yards. Thats an average of 4.3 yards a carry. Gailey is trying to work him into the offense along with jackson. He has had some nice runs this year, but still has things to learn. He will be a spectacular player in the NFL for years to come. If he had something like 26 carries for 50 yards, then i would be worried. But almost all of his carries have turned out to be decent gains.

  11. Ralph dies? No. Once the whole front office gets fired? No. We become a winning team the moment we get our franchise QB. It may be in next years draft, or it may be in 2 years, 3 years and so on...Look at the rams. They found their franchise QB, and they already TRIPLED their win total from last year.

Yes i know, our D stinks, but even if we fix our D, and dont have a franchis qb, we wont sniff the playoffs. Dont think this cant be turned around quickly. It can. With a little luck and patience, we can be watching our buffalo bills in the playoffs a year or two from now. Stick with this team guys, i know these are dark times, but the brighter days are ahead. This IS rock bottom. Once we hit rock bottom, we will start moving in the right direction.

  12. We barely run the 34 at all. We are in a 40 front 80% of the time if not more. I didnt see every play cause I lost my internet feed a few times but we were in a 30 front 0% of the plays I did see this Sunday. I saw at least 3/4s of the game.

Im not saying the 34 is the problem, im saying its the system George Edwards is implying on our guys. Its clearly not effective, and George Edwards needs to go.
