  1. "I gave the Bills a hard time in the draft grades last year because I thought they paid far too steep a price to move up for Sammy Watkins, given how many good WRs were in that draft. Watkins is going to be just fine, but Mike Evans and Odell Beckham, Jr. could have both been taken without moving up, and that move up now factors into the grade this year, when the Bills didn't have a first-rounder and simply couldn't add the same amount of talent as other teams. I thought Ronald Darby was a reach in Round 2 at No. 50. There's a lot of natural ability with him, but I didn't have CB as nearly the biggest need, and I don't think he was the best player available, either. I'm a lot higher on the third-round selection of John Miller, a physical force in the run game, which they need to succeed to take some pressure off whoever is taking the QB snaps. (There's some buzz that Tyrod Taylor could be really pushing for that role, by the way.) Karlos Williams provides some depth at running back, but I'm not sure how much they needed it, and I might have looked at one of a number of values to be had at linebacker in that range. That said, if Rex said he needed it on defense, my guess is they would have made the move. Nick O'Leary can stick because the competes like heck and can catch the ball. I also think Buffalo got one of the bigger steals in the draft in Dez Lewis, a big-bodied speedster out of Central Arkansas who doesn't look the least bit out of place from a physical and workout standpoint next to the first-round types. The Bills didn't need an amazing draft, thanks to good roster-building outside of QB. That's a good thing."

I think the last two sentences are the most important in the whole piece. Hes not totally off base with what he says, he just focuses too much on needs and measurables. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The draft is subjective.

  2. Yeah, it was tough for me to get my head around but after thinking about it, it really does make sense.

People think Kiko is going to bounce back from back to back knee surgeries and be the same player he was at his very best last year. Look at Brian Cushing, not the same player.

Pretty ballsy for the Eagles to trade for a guy with one NFL season on his resume.

Dont think this will be the last thing to shock us.

  3. Right..... Could have dived at Foster before the sticks, given the ball back to EJ with 4 minutes to go and we win the game and EJ is still our starting qb.

Maybe not... but that was one of the most frustrating plays I could remember in a few seasons. Goes along with the Tuel pick 6 to Sean Smith.

I only heard AW talk about it. Inexcusable for a vet guy. I am sure Schwartz gave him the business in the film room.

  4. N=I normally do not like this guy, but Cris Colinsworth was on the DP show and said he was really impressed by Kyle Orton last year in Dallas. He is not like a normal back-up and has a great feel for the game. Thought it was worth mentioning.

I think he has a better arm than a lot of people realize, maybe not early on in his career, but it has gotten stronger.

Heres to a productive week 5...

  5. Robert woods- what a monster. Blocking, big catches, special teams

EJ - Great composure, didnt panic. One bad pass

Corey Graham - Probably THE game ball. What an asset for us to have. We would have been in BIG trouble if it wasnt for him.

Freddy - Because I love him and is THE man

    LVP:

The refs (was I the only one, but it was like the twightlight zone)

D-Line - expect more out of all them

  6. I'm sure playing twice against SF, Sea and Arizonas killer pass rushes had nothing to do with all those pressures. Not making excuses but those numbers have to be skewed

I thought the same thing when I saw this. St. Louis seems they do not know whats going on with their o-line. Lets him next to a really solid C/LT in Eric and Cordy. He also mentioned about how coach Marrone already was telling him simple things on how to be better.

  7. I love the idea of moving Kiko to the outside. As the season wore on, his incredible instincts worked against him while playing in the middle. The best example of this was the long TD run down in Tampa, where he over-pursued & did not work inside-out to make the play that was there for him. As an OLB, he will be able to use that quickness and speed to more of an advantage in hunting things down, and he can get to the flats easier (in coverage or otherwise).

And let’s be honest, it’ll be less wear and tear not having to take on guards and fullbacks all day. Kiko already sounds like he’s taken a few blows to the head … the less, the better.

Also, I’ll do a cartwheel if we sign Spikes for the middle.

I agree with you here on Kiko. The best player example would be DeAndre Levy who was with Schwartz for a few seasons, or Lavonte David from TB. No point of having your MLB take most of the hits if he is your most athletic backer.

The only thing I disagree about is Spikes. WHY DOES EVERYONE WANT THIS GUY? He is epitome of SCUM. He poked eyes at UF, grapped players in not nice areas and he runs over a 5.0. There is a reason NE will not resign him. We do not want this guy representing our team. We need to find a MLB that can run if the opposition decides to throw it on first or second down. I will be really pissed if we do sign this guy.
