  2. OK, kids. I've been a headhunter for 25 years. Interesting responses. Most headhunters are just in it for the money, but rarely do they give out confidential information to anyone but the potential employer. There are some competent headhunters out there. It depends on the industry. When contacted by a headhunter, the best advice I could give someone is to ask questions that are very direct (not "how did you get my name"). If the headhunter is upfront and honest, listen to what he says. To be open minded to a potential opportunity is not a commitment to making a job change. Step one (dialogue with a company) is an educational step, only, for both parties.
  3. I do apologize for the internet being insecure, I'm trying to build up it's self esteem. Seriously, I appreciate what you have said and you have my respect.
  4. was easier to go through this whole thread than it was to cut and paste the link?! Actually, it would have been easier if someone had helped me out.
  5. I appreciate that. What prompted me to ask for help was that I received an e-mail from the Sports Authority this morning. I've ordered from them before, and I need some new running shoes. Yes, I could cut and paste the website, but it is easier to click on the "footwear" tab.
  6. I promise that if you do help me, I will never, never, ever post on this board; or any other board on how to clean up my computer should I open an unsecure e-mail. You have my word.
  7. "To the original poster: I'm not going to help you be less secure. Sorry." With all respect, I think you are assuming that I am clicking on links constantly. I only want to click on links that I know. I suspect someone could emulate my son's identity, or try to copy The Bills E-mail letter, but I think I'm fairly intelligent and can tell a high risk e-mail. Please let me make the decision on my security, if you would be so kind. If not, is there anyone else out there that would be willing to help me?
  8. Be assurred that any link I want to open is secure. When I get the weekly Buffal Bills e-mails, I am even unable to open up any of the topics; ie, conversations with Mularkey, etc.
  9. In my office, whenever I am in Outlook and get an an e-mail with a link (either from a friend or legitimate source), and I click on the link, a warning box comes up stating: "The operation has been canceled due to restictions on your computer. Please contact your system administrator." We are networked, but this appears to affect only me and we don't have a SA. Any thoughts?
  10. If you really want to talk about taxes on taxes, look at your monthly phone bill. All of those extras are actually taxes (including the Al Gore internet tax), and at the end of the bill, everything is totaled up and then you are hit with state and local taxes on the total amount.
  11. My Dad is a nice man but he couldnt QB the Bills either. 119911[/snapback] I don't know about that. After watching these guys, maybe he could.
  12. I think the problem with Drew being a nice man is that: 1. Drew is a nice man and nobody wants to hurt his feelings by either benching him or cutting him. 2. Being such a nice man, Drew has no fire or anger to make things happen. But, there is no doubt about it, Drew Bledsoe is a nice man.
  13. Yeah, it's easy for you to say, Darin. You probably don't have caribou tracking oil on your living room carpet. It's a mess when that happens.
  14. Alaska D is the most objective, non partisan on the PPP board.
  15. They have been brought home in secret???? I don't know where youare from, but in the local area, there has been news coverage of memorial sevices for local soldiers who lost their lives in Afghanistan and Iraq. But it appears you are missing the point. Moore wants to use the names of the fallen soldiers to make a politcal statement.
  16. I guess the 9/11 casualties weren't important enough for him to mention.
  17. " Nevermind the fact that he's against stem cell research " Sigh. He's not against stem cell research.
  18. and not gloat. There are a number of people who are devastated today. So please, have a moment of silence for Dan Rather, Pete Jennings, Katie Couric, etc.
  19. Ok, .... John Kerry is going to give everyone a plasma TV.
  20. " Barry in KC is obviously informed so he knows to blow off this stuff." Aren't all Republicans well informed?
