Fitz throwing for 400 every week and keeping that manchild Jameis holding the clipboard? Yes please.

if this happened...the NFL world would be lit on fire, turned upside down, and scattered to oblivion. kyper would have to be locked away, gruden would be filming a "wtf happened" qb show in his basement, jerry sullivan would be running naked through the streets screaming something incoherent yet insanely negative...and TBD would go collectively insane!

but i do love me some fitz!

No way McDermott can trot Peterman out there unless he wants to lose this team. It's one thing to play well in training camp and the preseason but this team has watched Peterman go into REAL NFL games and play as bad as you possible can play twice now in games that didn't have a whiteout.  When a player plays his worst when the games count the most there is no way his teammates can have confidence in him and Peterman simply looks scared and like he never has played football in his life before in real games...completely the opposite of what he did in the preseason.  It's obvious Peterman cannot handle playing under the bright lights. When the chips are down, Peterman folds like a cheap tent.

i agree with this. also, if you start peterman in the home opener and the game goes south like it did in baltamore, it is going to get really ugly at the Ralph. embarrassingly ugly. ugliness of biblical proportions.

i understand that is the pitch they are selling.  He spent about 20 million in cap this year on Star, Murphy and Davis.  These players are an odd way to spend money when you were loading up to get a young quarterback

i agree. it seems as though they are all bridge players, with possible upside. also, i do expect this team to get a bit better as time goes on. give the new players time to gel and the youngsters time to get a bit of experience. but i really think that last year they overachieved, this year will be absolutely excruciating at times, and next year will be the "hit the ground running" portion of the rebuild.

You’re kidding me right? Anyone can rip you apart if given time, but Marino and Flacco don’t belong in the same sentence. Flacco is no Hall of Famer

just pointing out that a dog taking a dump can outrun both of them at a dead sprint.

But that might be few and far between when your QB is running for his life on nearly every play - especially when we don't have much talent at WR.

well, this will be on the coaches to figure out a way to git r done. if they send the house, then you need to find the open man. if they sit back, you need to take what they give. if you are completely inept, then you will be looking for employment elsewhere.

I'm somewhat worried we're in a Josh McDaniels type situation, with a young coach who has too much power who has gone out of his way to overhaul the roster with his guys, who for the most part don't look like they're very good football players. Our lack of talent at WR, on the OL and even on the DL is alarming. We have enormous problems in each of those areas.

The Bills roster is terrible and it's been made terrible by this front office and coach choosing to get rid of most of our players either through cuts or trades. I get that we have a ton of cap space next year, but big spending in free agency doesn't always work. We need to rebuild the core of this team and that might take another 2-3 years.

next season we will have an epic amount of cap space opening up, along with some pretty high draft picks. incorporate this with our young talent getting more experience, and the ability to get out of a couple more contracts (hughes, clay?) and just watch what happens. we have gone through the tear down, and are in the rebuild.

I was concerned that Murphy looked better running the ball then McCoy did behind the same line......

McCoy is supposed to be the main offensive play maker.   Very hard running for him today.....actually thought Murphy was more effective.

mccoy seems to be a seasoned vet that has learned to pick his spots. murphy is a guy that is trying to prove his worth and will be trying to get every inch possible. shady is probably conserving his energy for when he can see a bit of daylight.

I'm afraid that it's yet another year of opposition stacking the box to stuff the run due to no talented receivers or a good offensive line.

I'm with others that say we should trade Shady while he still has his health. He's really not going to do us a lot of good this year, unfortunately.

just connect on a few passes downfield and watch what happens.

  9. depends on what you are expecting. Benjamin is not a burner. he is not a route runner exraordinaire. he is not a one handed grabbing highlight reel guy. but, he is a large man with one hell of a wingspan. he has a size advantage on every db in the game and should be able to shake loose of most lb's on the field. elite, no. good, yes. great? well...that remains to be seen but depends on many, many circumstances.

Can we give him a solid thumbs up at least?

i would say i saw signs of encouragement. there were some nice runs, nice throws, and he stood in there against some big hits. i liked the way he handled himself. i think it is really on the coaches to put some polish on this kid. he seems like he wants to win, he truly wants to be great. scheme it up, coach him up, and rip it up!

Think it would need to be for a QB and I am struggling to see a genuine 1st rounder in this class, let alone a #1 pick.

i hear ya. but just wait for the kyper/mcshay hype train to roll through town and sing the glories of this year's qb crop. it's just too bad gruden won't be around to polish the knobs of these young gentlemen and tell everyone who will listen how great they are.

this is a pretty bad roster for a year 2 .

we kinda knew that going in. look at the dead cap situation. look at the young, RAW talent. this year is about taking lumps and gaining experience. next year will be about amassing more talent and throwing money at the holes.

If the best player there at #1 or #2 where I fear after today we will draft is a OL or a WR by all means take them. But I suspect it is going to be Bosa and Oliver at 1&2 unless something changes.

is it wrong for me to be praying that somebody pays us a stupid price to get up there to draft somebody. i just keep entertaining visions of adding multiple impact players in next year's draft to go along with all the high quality free agents we will be adding (a guy can dream, right?)

No he is an elite pass rusher. That is just as big of a need I am afraid.

i know. truly, i know. i just want to have an offense that looks like a modern day nfl offense. i want to see Allen slinging the ball all over the field to a group of skilled players and put up all kinds of points. i long for the days of the barn burners.

but i do understand that an elite pass rusher is also  a wonderful thing to have. especially after watching joe freaking flacco have all day to rip us apart.

  15. i will be absolutely ecstatic for every game that fitz wins. absolutely love this guy. always have, always will. my man crush on this guy is absurd. having said that, i know full well his limitations, tendencies, and why we parted ways with him. but dammit, i still love me some fitzy!

Oh just STOP! It is the first f*cking game, bro! They made the wrong choice on QB, time to move on to see how they proceed from here. They have the WORST cap situation in the NFL, if you guys wanna be pissed be pissed @ Doug Whaley!

i was prepared for some pain, but this was bad. i took it in stride, for the most part. but one thing became painfully clear...whether he's ready or not, Allen has to be our qb. if this game was in Buffalo, fans would have rushed the field with torches and pitch forks!
