“it sounds as though the Bills will at least have a new alternate or classic helmet for their final season at the incredible home @ the Ralph

Always liked the classic AFL helmets. Would be fitting if that’s what they use. Should be the home uniform as a tribute to how the team and who started.

those or the red 90s helmets. Anything else no thanks.

    That show needs to go....

I actually enjoy a dose of the state run kool aid. Especially after a loss. When everyone else is swimming in the negativity you can count on that show for some positivity.

This post got me thinking, “what’s the right number that it would take in exchange for a Bills Super Bowl?” Obviously, $500 isn’t the answer. The champagne I’d pop after a Super Bowl would exceed that. What’s your number?

I’m thinking like $500K would be my number. That might be insane and it might not be high enough. That number is big enough to matter but not big enough to stop working or drastically change the day-to-day.

I figure that this is an interesting place for this discussion because the people spending time here, in June, REALLY care about the Bills.

EDIT: To be clear, you either get _____ dollars and the Bills do not win one in your lifetime OR they are guaranteed a championship this year.

I wouldn’t trade any amount of money for them absolutely not winning in my lifetime. There’s no amount. They’re one of the most important things in my life, sad as that may seem, and knowing they had no chance would effectively take that from me.

Probably, but also the expectation of gift value probably doesn't rise at the same rate as the wealth of the folks getting married or their guests goes up.

So if the average wedding gift is $250 in the US, maybe for a couple like Hailee and Josh it goes up to $400 considering the average wealth of their guests?  I bet the average net worth of their attendees less than 20x the median net worth in the US (192k), which if my WAG on the net worth of their guests is right, puts their net worth at $3.84MM. Certainly guests weren't giving 20 x $250 = $5k gifts

This is honestly a really intriguing question.

Certainly most people aren't giving thousand plus dollar gifts, but rather $300-$500 bottles of booze, cigars, etc.

your average net worth is WAY low. If it was Terry Pegula and 500 others worth $0 the average net worth would be 15.2 million. Throw Larry David in, and you’d be at 16 million.

It wouldn’t if we lose to KC next week.  No one will gaf

there would be some nice chatter for 6 days -  then forgotten if KC beat us

I largely agree, but at the very least it would mean Allen had been to two AFC Championships...

    Did this last week

buffalo has 9 W, best jets/ NE can do is 9 wins, best Miami can do is 11. Buffalo has the first tiebreaker with Miami due to season sweep. Miami needs to be above buffalo in wins

next week bills and jets are off. New England plays miami

the following week miami plays in thxgvg, jets, oats on Sunday afternoon before Bills play

For them to clinch division before starting the game…

NE brats Miami, all 3 lose thxgvg weekend then Mia best is 9 wins, jets/ ne 8 wins BUF clinch

Buffalo W against SF clinches division if…

buf will have 10 W which eliminates jets/NE no matter what they do. With Miami if they L one game ( NE, GB) the best they can do is 10 W but Buffalo has the tiebreaker so Bills clinch.

if Miami WE then buffalo can’t clinch by winning SF game

I'm not talking about winning the division.  I'm talking about making the playoffs.

yea I went through the espn playoff machine and basically did a worst case scenario and even with beating the Niners the bills technically could miss out at 10-7. Though the odds of it are very very unlikely.

I tried to do this too and couldn't do it... I must not have tried long enough.

But New York and Miami media are all saying they still have a chance to clinch the AFCEast

    I think they do though.

Yeah just checked it.  If the Bills lose out and Jets win out, Jets win the division.  If the Bills lose out, Dolphins can get the by winning all but one game assuming they beat the Bills.

  9. 3 minutes ago, Gregg said:

The magic number to win the division is 2. Either 2 Bills wins or 2 Dolphins losses or a combination of 1 Bills win and 1 Dolphins loss. Miami is 4-6 so another loss and the best they can do is 10-7. Bills needs 1 win to get to 10 and they swept the Dolphins. So, the tiebreaker goes to the Bills. Have to root for the Pats to upset the Dolphins this Sunday. If not, then I think GB will beat the Dolphins at home on TNF.

But again, this is for a playoff spot not the division.   They're saying the magic number for the playoffs is 1.

    Yes, the infallible NY Times.

Is this directed at the NY Times in general or their playoff machine?  Has their playoff machine proven wrong before?  I'm asking honestly because I'm not sure if it isn't flawed.

I played around with the ESPN playoff machine just now and I couldn't get the Bills out of the playoffs if I put a win in for next week.  I can't get all of the contending teams in and the Bills out.

Can’t be, the Bills can’t mathematically clinch a wild card with ten wins right now. Too many other teams could easily eclipse that if they win out — including Miami.

This is why it stood out to me.  I looked at all the records of the other teams and questioned it because there are a bunch of teams still alive to get above 10 wins.  But it must be a combination of tie breaker stuff and that some of those teams have to play themselves.

I believe the NY times playoff machine.

We have to win and Dolphins have to lose and we clinch.

We’re 9-2 and Dolphins are 4-6. If we win next week and lose the rest of our games we finish 10-7. If the Dolphins win out they finish 11-6, there is no way we clinch the division next week without a Dolphins loss this week or next.

This argument is directed at the Bills path to clinching the division.  I'm not talking about winning the division.  I'm talking about clinching a playoff spot.
