I think we all know the big names out there so I'm more interested in who other than the Lucks, Lockers, etc you guys think should be in the discussion. I'd also like to know your opinions on guys likely to not come out until after the 2011 season.
All of them are playing against MICKEY MOUSE defenses so it really doesnt matter .

Given how well Russell played in Oakland, how pray tell is he better than any QB on our team? The only thing he has exhibited so far is poor work ethic, terrible accuracy, poor understanding of the game...
Really ? I know that there is a lot of love for our 3.2 million dollar losing QB but if we know that Fitz sucks would you continue to pay 3.2 million for him to continue to lose . If you do please stay away from my business. not one of our QB's , not one, exibit accuracy , understanding of the game , or great work ethic . Just like we are screaming for a college QB to start for the BILLS based on joke of college teams defenses they play . Thats how they was screaming for J. Russell when he was drafted. Do you want to Waste 70 million on a hunch (that what LUCK,MALLET,LOCKER,& PONDER are a 100 million dollar hunch that only threw against MICKEY MOUSE DEFENSES) or do you want to pay someone vet. minimum and tell them to prove it . because as usuaual you miss the MARK. this was jeff littman , overdorf, russ brandon and scott berchold crap for the last ten years .What happend to russ brando for all of his failure he gets a promotion . They used Levy & jauron as puppets. If get those three out ( unfortunately its going to take ralph to either sell the team or pass away ) replace them with competent NFL people and we will not be giving the kelsays of the world a contract extention while we get rid of every player 25 and younger.

Could Russel be a better than average QB absolutely - will Russel ever be any type of QB doubtful, he doesn't seem to have love and respect for the game, some of these guys seem to love the money, fame, women surrounding the NFL but not that they are playing in the NFL - could Russel grow up, get a work ethic, find God so to speak ... yeah it's possible, but it's more likely that he has enough money to slack around and party.
What the hell are you basing this crap your spewing on . Fact is he is only 25 and better than any QB we have on the team . We let vick get away from us when this town knew that he was better than anyone on this team . Russell will cost us the vet min I would rather pay the vet min and lose than pay Fitz 3.2 million to lose .

Thats easy because the BILLS FRONT OFFICE , COACHING STAFF and NFL SCOUTS dont agree with you . I will take The NFL and this Front office over your (30 yr old RB that no NFL team wants to trade for )opinion anyday of the week . People get over your love for the "small time guy does good attitude " 30 yr old RB.

I doubt that Bell's gonna 'lite it up' for the Eagles - remember, CJ Spiller had 3 TDs in his first 3 preseason games, sat out the 4th, then disappeared in the first 2 regular season games. Just sayin'.

Reid's attempt to revamp the offensive line behind the Andrews brothers and Jason Peters has also failed miserably so far. The Andrews brothers are long gone, while Peters seems like a human false start penalty. (link)

He earned Freshman All-American honors by Rivals.com, Sporting News and College Football News. Also an excellent student, earned Academic All-Big East accolades as well. Wood remained Louisville's starting center in his sophomore and junior seasons, starting all 13 and 12 games, respectively. Led by quarterback Brian Brohm, the 2007 Cardinals offense ranked sixth nationally with an average of 488.0 yards per game. Shawn Nelson, TE, Southern Miss
This was by leaps and bounds Buffalo's best selection...Nelson is one of the finer athletes available at any position in this draft class, and he's also got an incredibly soft pair of hands. Even better - unlike some of his "receiving TE" counterparts, he's got upside as a blocker. Buffalo now has themselves a legitimate tight end threat for the first time since Jay Riemersma. (link)
Danny Batten, OLB, South Dakota State
Add Batten to the list of small-school defenders snapped up by Buffalo. Once again, Batten's an undersized lower-level collegiate defensive end that will make the transition to NFL outside linebacker. Relentless motor and a very fast first step, but even still, is not a top-notch, explosive athlete. Good depth player that probably won't see much playing time defensively as a rookie, but will be a staple in Bruce DeHaven's special teams units. Has some upside. Batten is the second consecutive sixth-round pass-rushing prospect added to the [bills] roster. At 6'3" and 246 pounds, Batten put up excellent career numbers at South Dakota State, finishing his four-year career with 273 tackles, 52.5 tackles for loss, and 23 sacks. A four-year starter for the Jackrabbits, Batten put up impressive workout numbers at his pro day in March, running 4.71 seconds in the 40-yard dash, displaying a 32.5-inch vertical leap, a 4.05-second short shuttle, and sitting on his 30 bench press reps that he put up at the combine. You can't be serious ? How many wins do we have compared to Eagles since the Jason Peters trade(who was only 24 yrs old) . I will not pass judgement on the 3 guys we picked up but as of right now NO ONE HAS DONE A THING IN BUFFALO . That includes WOODS. Problems we had when Peters left are still here . Qb is still a problem . Philly do have Balls to tell the public to shut the F**k up and let them handle football business. The differnce between the two organizations is like night and day . That is why other teams laugh at us while they are actually playing (damn!!! can you believe that ) compared to Philly were they make plans for the playoffs every year. The Philly front office laps the BILLS in every manner, please take off those rose color glasses. WE blew it we could of had vick for nothing 2 years ago , Heck we could of had Vick for a 4th this year ( What is our 4th round choice doing again ? ) . Fact is we as Bills fans tends to overvalue home favorites Kelsay , schoebal , F. Jackson , while the NFL look for FOOTBALL MEN . That is why so many teams is trying like Hell to steal M.Lynch away from us and could care less about our beloved Fred Jackson . The other teams don't just laugh at the BILLS PLAYERS but their FANS as well because frankly we put stock in some of the STUPIDEST THINGS . We should only care about one thing can this player make us better. This is something Andy Reid did after giving KOLB that contract . Do you think we could give someone a monster contract and then after 1 game go to VICK our Coaching staff is a little too weak for that right. My prime example: Kelsay - Why is he on the field as a LB ? ( I almost felt sorry for him until I realized he makes 7mill a yr) THATS WHY WE ARE THE JOKE OF THE LEAGUE right now .........BUT HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL

IMO - Trent Edwards will not be resigned unless he wins at least 8 or 9 games this season. I guess it could happen. The catch is... if we don't 8 or 9 games... we will potentially be a top 10 pick which means we will probably draft a quarterback in the first round.
Potential FA QBS:
Tyler Thigpen - a possible addition. Gailey has worked with Tyler before and there is room to grow.
Matt Hasselbeck - highly unlikely due to Gailey wanting to go younger.
Potential QBs in the 2011 draft:
Case Keenum - over 5,600 yards and 44 TDs in 2009 - this could spark an offensive passing game for Buffalo. Could thrive in Gaileys 4 wide set. The Cougars were ranked #80 on rushing offense.
Andy Dalton - A big arm and will probably be successful in the NFL. 62% passing percentage.
Jake Locker - Big arm and probably the top QB in the 2011 Draft... although things do change.
Andrew Luck - I would take Locker over Luck but Luck still has a decent arm. Did I mention he is from Stanford?

Sorry but Chan dream QB to win now not 5 years from now will be Mike Vick because Chan see's Kordell Stewart times 5 with Vick . Chan is playing to Win in the NFL now and Vick next year a Free Agent gives him the best chance . Chan like putting fear in a Defense and along with Spiller Vick would put FEAR in all the DEFENSES in the AFC east. NO more teeing off to rush the QB

Boy Scout or not (and I'm FAR from a Fan of purely Boy Scout-ish players), I'm not basing my opinion on anything other than the Play on the Field. And it is definitely my opinion that Fred Jackson is a better RB overall than Marshawn Lynch...Not that I think Marshawn is a bad RB, and it's not a knock against Marshawn necessarily...Freddie is pretty darn good...It's awfully tough to judge either behind this O-Line anyway...Honestly, Marshawn has the better athletic ability, but I think in the area of pure knack and instincts it's not even close...At times Marshawn does FAR too much juking instead of hitting the hole and getting what he can...I also think Freddie is a better receiver out of the backfield because Marshawn seems to drop a lot more passes. That may just be my perception...I don't know...True Marshawn's TD Ratio is better, but Freddy averages over a half a yard better a carry and over a yard better per catch for his career...
As far as regretting Trading Lynch, sure that's a possibility...But it's still no reason to carry 3 RB's that could start for more than a few Teams in the NFL...Some folks think it does not matter, but do you think Marshawn or Freddie are happy about the current situation? Touching the Ball 3-5 times a Game? It's tough to get into any kind of rhythm...One of these guys HAS to go and obviously Marshawn should have the bigger Trade value...I'm not certain if the Bills are just being stubborn or stupid, but this thing has to happen and the sooner the better...
Just like I called the station after Sully personal rant on Marshsawn . I will repeat again. Jackson had the RB job last year and had only 2 TD for the year . The only reason he got the 1000 yrd was because of the Colts running for the Bus after the 1st QT. I understand the love around here for FJ because he is the little guy that made it . Fact is for the past 6 months NFL teams ( the true judge of talent ) has been harrassing the Bills FO about Marshawn not Fred . Why can't Bills fans acccept that 1)Fred is 30 makes more and doesn't bring more to the table than Marshawn . 2)Marshawn 24 (whom NFL GMs' want ) makes less than Fred and contract isn't up until 2013. We all knew that our O-line , O-coordinator ,QB coach was the JOKE of the NFL. But we as fans try to use last year as some sort of Yard stick as to who is better .I am sure the other GMs' around the league pray that the FO is that stupid so they could steal some of our talent. 3) If anyone remember the Offenses that Chan had at Pittsburgh it was Bettis and Barry Foster running it down any and everyone throats. The QB was a role player ( think O'Donnel or Kordel Stewart ). This is going to take some time people and Fred at 30 is not part of the long term . They are training /acquiring lineman(urik) to become more physical. I am sorry that people need to trash one RB to verify another but if we as fans want to look at the REAL 10 year problem just look at the front line. Everything else is moot. AS to the 3 RB being not happy........SO WHAT they are both under contract until 2013....... Marshawn might not be happy right now but complaining is not his style. FRED would never complain because this is more MONEY than he will EVER make. This is not RUSS BRANDON folks these NFL GM"s is no longer going to steal talent from our team again . NIX , MODRAK and GAILEY has a sound plan and no matter what radio stations that cover only Hockey and turn Football pundits for two days say or Sullivan who let his personal bias get the better of him . THIS TEAM IS BEING BUILT FOR THE LONG HALL and a 30yr old back is not in the long term plans .

If Schobel were to stay on, he would have a point. As it is, the potential nightmare of schobel blitzing from a linebacker position is going to be filled by someone offenses wont worry about.

Because regardless of what he was being payed, Schobel always showed up ready to play. The one time Peters wasn't happy with his paycheck he laid around on his couch all summer dipping kettle chips in mayonnaise and showed up as a fat useless pig.
The bottom line is that you're trying to turn this into a black/white issue. There are legitimate cases where those prejudices are a factor; this is not one of them.

It's a given that Schobel always showed up ready to play and was one of, if not our top defender the past decade. However, the stupid way he's played his cards, that is he put out the "retirement" thing, and then said he wasn't coming back (but would consider playing if the Bills called upon him during the season), which all boiled down to his desire to play near his Texas home. Fine. Had he made his wishes known only to the Bills, and given them a reasonable time frame to get something accomplished (or at least try) before going public, he wouldn't have destroyed his trade value with respect to what the Bills could have received if he had kept his mouth shut.
With the Bills going to a 3-4 defense, they may well have been inclined to try to work something out for him. But no, stupid said he was likely going to retire, then blah, blah, blah. Had he left anything for the Bills (some trade value), we should all have wished him well, but since he's played this the way he has, may he rot forever as under contract to the Bills. As of now, he's a did not report (fine him). Let him turn in his retirement papers, but do NOT give him his release.
He played his hand badly and definitely should not be rewarded for it. Sad too, because I liked Schobel, until he left the Bills with no options. He was paid pretty darned well to play for the Bills so he shouldn't have to clip coupons to get by even if he never plays another down.

While the article was reasonable enough, it did seem pretty biased towards Lynch. If the reason he appears to be having so much trouble is because of rampant racism (which is one of his underlying themes after all), the author could have gotten off his butt and checked to see how other black players are treated in WNY. If they don't seem to be having the problems that Lynch does, then maybe the racism is far less than implied by the article (and might have more to do with Lynch himself). An awful lot of current and former Bills rave about the area and continue to live there after their careers are over without so much as a blip on the news.
The author might also have done some fact checking (as professional journalists are expected to do) by contacting the condo association where Lynch lives to get its side of the story. BTW, when you've got the kind of money Lynch has, and you work in an area where you can buy a mansion on the lake for less than the down payment on a house in Oakland, what are you doing living in a condo? Why doesn't the guy get his own place where he doesn't have to put up with all those racist condo owners and can have all the pit bulls, guns and anything else he wants while blasting his music?
The supposed journalist might also have brought up the weirdest story about Lynch (and the one that first made me wonder WTF? about this guy). That is, to save money, Lynch would sneak a flask of booze into Buffalo bars to "charge up" the glass of pop he'd buy. Huh?
I don't regard the kid as a thug. A jerk, yeah, no question. But not a thug. Which might be a character flaw but is not a crime. If it were, a good percentage of the population, including some regular posters around here, would be under arrest.
As to poster comments that he seems to have changed, I don't see that at all. He's still going on and on about how he's just a regular guy who's being picked on, blah blah blah, suggesting it's because of racism or some quirk in WNY and not his behavior. Until he does a cold-eyed analysis of himself and the people he surrounds himself with, he'll continue to be who he is. And people will continue to dislike him for who he is, not what color he is.
And you know what? If he returns to form and has a couple of great seasons, I will be cheering for him. And I don't think I'll be the only one. Doesn't mean I'll like him as a human being. But then, the NFL isn't about winning Mr. Congeniality, it's about "Just win, baby."

Spiller is going to line up all over the field. Just like PErcy HArvin and Reggie Bush. Spiller will get 15-2 touches a game, but I bet 4-5 of them will be receptions. Fred Jackson will be very much involved
New coach ......this isnt Juaron buddy .......Chan Gailey offenses likes his running backs to punish and that is Lynch all the way . I must admit that when Gailey was with the Steelers they had some very physical runners (Barry Foster) in Lynch mold (22 yrs old) , with a home run hitter in Spiller( 22 yrs old) and I can see Freddy being very nervous with a new coaching staff and his age . He should be nervous Spiller is a better down the field threat in the passing game plus a better runner. That is an awsome combo...the power of Marshawn and the speed of Spiller ......Wow a true Thunder and Lightning or( Beast Mode and Jaguar , what ever you want to call them) and this will give Defenses pause when it comes to our run game now

I'll never forgot draft day 2004, I HAD (stupid 2010 draft) an annual poker game with a group of friends and I was psyched about Big Ben, after the Big Eli\RiversQB trade there wasn't anyone that was expected to be in the QB Market. Jax had Leftwitch, Houston had Carr, Jets had Pennington, and the Steelers had Tommy Maddox coming off of a good year.
I was talking about how this Big Ben was as big or bigger than a LB and has a great arm, he played in cold weather he is going to turn the Bills franchise around.
One of the guys was a big steelers fan, I was in the middle of my diatribe when the Steelers pick went to the podium.
I almost **** myself when I heard Roethlisberger's name . My friend started pointing and laughing immediately.

I whole heartedly agree with one minor clarification:
Just say no to "convicted" dog killers and rapists!
Consider "accused but never charged" dog killers and rapists!
If he looked like Vick or McNabb the accused rapist would have been a convicted rapest/molester.......................so being convicted don't mean much ...............You do know this happened twice in a freaking year.......once a pervert rapist always one the next time there will not be enough money for him to have the security tape come up missing
