  1. It's hard to beat a nun to breakfast on Milk Toast day.
  2. If they could manage a couple 3 and outs they might not be on the field so long.
  3. If they don't tighten up the zones it doesn't matter. But he was a lone bright spot on the first teams.
  4. And you can't fire the coach if the starting qb got injured. We'd lose all this continuity.
  5. Continuity. If we stay with Dick long enough, eventually the planets will align and we'll get to that elusive 9 win barrier. Imagine the horror of changing coaches after only 3 terrible years. We'd probably spend a whole season being bad while the personnel and schemes were changed. Maybe like 3 or 4 win bad.
  6. And he makes serious passing attempts beyond the line of scrimmage! That's hard to do against starters though.
  7. 1 pass and he's already more productive than Edwards has been all night
  8. This is the definition of Jauron-ball. It is predicated on the opponent screwing up. Not forcing them to make mistakes, but just them making errors. Try to give your defense a long field, because stringing together 12 play drives in the NFL is hard. As long as the offense doesn't turn the ball over too much, you'll have close games against poor teams and get blown out against good ones. Hell, you even have a chance against a good team if they inexplicably implode (see: Dallas, which dick still managed to !@#$ up). Most years you'll end up somewhere within shouting distance of .500. There's always teams in the first year of a rebuild or one year past when they should have started-these are the teams that Jauron-ball beats. It's stinkyhole football, and the best part is that there aren't nearly enough sh------- teams on the schedule this year to get to 7 wins. That supposedly means Dick will be gone, but I heard the same BS last year, and he's still here.
  9. bull sh--. He was under pressure, and what happened? You want to remind me the last time Trent made a similar play? Just one time. Not a 2 yard dumpoff but an honest to christ real productive play.
  10. Well give our defense a chance to play against Trentative and they'd probably look great too.
  11. Too late, it's just the offer Ralphie has been biding his time waiting for.
  12. Once again, the team is unprepared, committing terrible penalties, no pressure, no ability to play on third down on either side of the ball. Same mistakes, same kind of play repeatedly since last October, but I'm sure there'll be plenty of people still complaining that it's "only" preseason.
  13. No, it was a stupid decision and a terrible throw by a qb scared of his own shadow
  14. I'd bet money that we run more on second down than anybody in the league. It doesn't matter what the distance is, we seem to run on 2nd all the time.
  15. Gotta double that number to make it even a consideration.
  16. Excellent, thanks for that link. So starting field position average: So obviously Trent's poor performance had absolutely nothing to do with the poor position he was put in by the defense or special teams. In fact, he had a better spot to start from on average than any other qb in the league and still only produced 10 touchdowns. Thanks for blowing up another excuse for Captain Checkdown.
  17. Poor coaching, but still time better spent elsewhere with so many basics that need improvement. Won't be too effective until teams have a reason to respect/fear the running game anyway.
  18. 1st in punt return average and 7th in kick return average in the NFL. 2nd in covering kickoffs, but only 23rd covering punts. 14th on defense in yards given up per game. 25th in offensive yards gained per game. I can't find the team statistics for average starting field position last season, but I doubt that the Bills were at the bottom of the list, and in any event there's usually something around 7-8 yards between the best and worst avg. starting field position in the league. It's a ridiculous and unsupportable argument that he had it significantly worse than any or even most other qb's as far as field position goes. The problem with Trent is that he has been hideous against all but the very worst defenses, certainly not that the blame for his performance lays with the defense and special teams.
  19. Especially since it happens so consistently with this staff. Jackson and Greer stand out in that regard, and we'll soon be adding Nic Harris to the list, unless they come to their senses soon. My guess is that neither Bell nor Harris will be starters until Jauron is absolutely forced to make a change by injury. Dick never changes his spots.
  20. Chef-you know that if you get lazy that you'll get fat, and that if your "willpower is low' that you'll drink more than you should. From those statements it seems as though you know the negative consequences of an action, yet engage in the activity sometimes anyway. Almost as if you can't control it sometimes, so you define those times in terms of your own failings, rather than admit that you aren't in complete control of the situation. That seems like disease, and really I'm generally opposed to the idea that alcoholism is a disease. IDK, but something you can't control even though you know you should even if it's infrequent sounds like a disease rather than a lack of willpower or information.
  21. I had no idea Ko Simpson was quite this far down the depth chart.
