  1. I didn't mind when Jauron was retained. I thought it might be good to have a quarterback that has consistency in his coaches. I will say this now though...I was wrong. This team seems to be an embarrassment. Jauron brings no life to the game and nothing to the play calling. I had high hopes for this team. I thought even 7-9 this year would be an improvement over the years past with the same record, because of the difficulty of the schedule. I think we will be lucky to win 4 games. Pathetic.

The third preseason game usually indicates how good a team is. I sure hope this is not the case for the Bills. If it is an indicator, they are in trouble. Still no pass rush, a horrible no huddle offense, cannot run the ball, stupid penalties, a coach that shows no passion and a Qb that's lost all his confidence. It sure looks like Jauron will be gone by mid season and replaced by April. If that happens, it's too bad Wilson wasted precious time when Jauron could have and should have been gone at the end of last year. As a rabid Bills fan for years, I sure hope they are just fooling us.

  2. Amen brother. And that stupid f*cking idiot who said "who cares" needs to go spend some time in the middle east, maybe go to a picnic with the Taliban and maybe then he might respect what that flag stands for.

I thought he had freedom of speach. Or is that only when he says what you like? Ridiculous to tell someone they need to go spend some time in the middle east. Or maybe you are in favor of mandatory military service. Have we gotten to the point where the treatment of a flag is more important than how we treat people?

  3. I read the game recap and noted that CB Woodson had 2 sacks. Ssounds like they were blitzing a lot, as well as game-planning (as Simon mentioned in a previous thread about the BUF-GB game).

The Bills went to the superbowl 4 straight years and looked terrible in preseason. It means nothing. Why is Greenbay showing all this in preseason anyway? If they are actually game planning then of course they are going to kill people. Do you remember when Washington hired Steve Spurrier? They were gangbusters in preseason and sucked during the year. Could Greenbay be good? Sure, but they won't be dominating like that when the season starts, IMO.

  4. I really hope fans don't expect too much from him in the first few games. It would be a blessing if he gets any real pressure on the QB on any semblance of a consistent basis before mid season. What we can hope for is signs of his speed and athleticism on random plays that make him something of a factor on that particular play. He's just not going to be used to the intensity, agility, strength, or tricks of the players he is up against in a regular season game for quite some time. He's very young, he's very inexperienced, he's quite small and he missed most of camp. If he has a single sack early in the season it should be a bonus.

    Exactly right.

  5. It's interesting to read an accurate article like this when today I came to the conclusion that this season will be NO BETTER than the previous three. I don't care what any of the overly-optimistic homers have to say. I watched the GB game twice and realize that the '09 Bills are just another sub-.500 Dick Jauron lead ball club. They have no chance of making the playoffs. They don't even have a chance at a winning division record. This is Dick's 4th season and he sounds like a broken record. Just yesterday he was praising our division and talking about how we have to learn from our mistakes. WTF have you been doing for 3+ years Dick?

We've got a QB who (IMO) is trying to tell the world that the coaching staff is incompetent and doesn't have the team prepared and instructs him to dump the ball off. Then we hear that after the GB debacle the first thing the team does is work on short passes.

Dick is soft and apathetic. He produces a soft and apathetic football team. He has no fire and no hatred of losing and his players follow his lead. Why should they go the extra mile when their coach doesn't demand it? The '09 Bills have a destiny and that destiny is last place in the AFC East. There's no way around it. There's no denying it. It's a freight train headed our way.

This organization is (and has been) letting its GREAT FANS down.

Greenbay ran stunts and gimmicks on defense. Edwards said that they did not expect a complicated package to be used against them by GB. We do need to take this under consideration when trying to evaluate a preseason game. That being said, the game did not inspire confidence. I can certainly understand the pessimism but I just don't think preseason games should be weighed too heavily. If I recall correctly, the Bills beat the Steelers last year in the second preseason game. We all know how things turned out for Pittsburgh. I'm not predicting a great year but I think we won't truly know how good the Bills are until the bullets start flying for real.

  6. I have to say i have Trents back on this, Jauron sucks as a coach, the offensive coaches have no clue how to counter a 3-4 defense, and until they let Trent call his own plays at the line i think it will continue. I dont feel Trent is a puss either i just think he was keeping his cool and not calling out his coaches, but after 3 years he realizes, he has no help. So for him to get fired up and call out his coach i think he is assuming more of a leadership role on this team which is great. He got T.O. here, now get Dick out!

Letting Trent call his own plays at the line won't help either. When Kelly called his own plays he was prepared during the week by the coaches. He knew what he was going to see. He practiced against the defense he would be seeing. The coaches prepared him mentally with a game plan that would be effective. I don't see Edwards getting the same type of preperation from this lousy staff. So we would just have an unprepared quarterback calling his own plays.

  7. When you have 2 starting DE's that are good against the run, make tackles, and can't get to the QB, you have a problem. Schobel has now resorted to trying to bull rush the tackles backwards on every play, because he has no more agility and quickness. Schobel is a fine player still for a team that doesn't need to rely on him to get a consistent pass rush. But we do.

I noticed the bull rush also and was wondering if he had lost a step. I hope he turns it up come regular season. Also if I was Kelsay I might wonder if I'm going to be cut. He has under impressed so far. Does anyone think it's a possibility that Kelsay is cut?

  8. What a load of BS, if the Bills get pounded by the Patriots in week one, we will all know what to expect the rest of the season.

On the other hand IF they pull off a miracle and beat the Patriots, then your point might be valid. But after watching the Bills and Edwards play against that Packers 3-4, I doubt they will even keep the game close at NE.

The problem with needing a miracle to win a game means they would still be a lousy team. As crazy as it sounds, I'd rather they lose a close, hard fought game where we competed and showed that we can play with the Patriots, than to beat them by some crazy series of flukes and still be a bad team.

  9. Im pretty sure we already know what kind of a team the Bills are going to be....a sub .500 team

Jauron will not be fired during the season and will most likely be back in 2010 unless something drastic happens like a 3-13 or 4-12 season so get used to him being around

I think Jauron will be gone if the Bills start poorly. Ralph will promote April as interim head coach. This way he's not spending on a new coach this year.

  10. Fair enough. But why does it bother you if people stand during a TV time out? What are you trying to see? Just kidding.

I understand your point. But my point is...why complain? It will never change. When you get a bunch of drunk people (and sober people) that congregate for a single goal...people get excited.

Personally, people standing never really bothered me. It is just what happens when you go to a Bills game. If I feel like sitting, I do so during time-outs. If the people around me want to continue standing...who cares?

I agree, what's the point in geting upset. It's the same at concerts, people stand. To expect fans to sit when you want them to is just not reasonable.

  11. Who is in your top 10? I assume you're talking all-time because he's easily #1 in the present nfl. Because I garauntee all of them had a hall of fame qb.

How is he "easily" #1? Last time i checked there were some pretty good coaches in the NFL .

  12. There is a job for Maybin, and the team would love to have him in camp. I get your point - it's not the same as a player already under contract holding out, i.e., Peters last season, but that's just semantics. If I refuse to sign a contract because I want more $$$$, am I not 'holding out' for more money?

Anyway, I didn't expect any more news on this before tonite's game - I do expect Maybin will sign next week and see action next Saturday against Green Bay.

And then get hurt. Thats the usual progression for holdouts.

  13. As much of a d**k i think Jason Peters is, I don't get how anyone can argue that what he's saying about our Training camp is false. we all know DJ doesn't push these players. I can't even imagine him raising his voice let alone demanding much from our players physically. It seems to me that DJ thinks the players spend their own time getting into shape and preparing for the physical grind of an NFL season, and all he uses training camp for is to work on technique and the mental aspects. This might be an ok approach for a team with alot of veteran leadership, but we don't have that. Peter King even said that our training camp was much less physical than the ravens and the redskins after he visited a week or so ago. It just blows my mind that DJ refuses to make some changes to his approach knowing full well that his job is on the line. If it aint broke dont fix it, but in our case, if it's broke you gotta fix the damn thing.

And then Jauron will lament about all the injuries. Newsflash, injuries happen when guys are not conditioned.

  14. I mean, come on -- at least the guy is into the game and trying to have fun. It was preseason and he had a substitute punter in the game. He gave the fans something to get excited about in a meaningless game. Good for him.

I did have a problem with that play. Maybe only because I felt like slapping Fisher's face when he was shown laughing about it (lol). But seriously something just felt wrong about that play call. I wondered did I feel this way only because I'm a Bills fan and it happened to our team, but after further consideration, I would have thought that play was wrong even if it was the Titans versus any team. That being said, it is his right to call any play he chooses. I thought it was bush league, but he does have the right to call it. Maybe he did it because he knows these two teams will meet again when it counts. Or maybe it was his huge ego that made him do it. Either way I do hope the Bills learn from it and use it as incentive when they play the Titans for real.

  15. Hey and maybe you know what sarcasm is? I guess with only 5 posts you havent quite got a sense for this message board yet...it was meant as a joke, put your panties back on straight, and chill. I know Roscoe is an exceptional " returner " im just saying he needs to show more as a WR, but hey welcome to the board.

My bad, thanks for correcting that ridiculous sarcastic post Dean. I'm just glad a veteran poster like the chief knows how to wear his panties and not get too sensitive about responses to his "sarcasm". But hey, thanks for the welcome. Coming from you , it means so much. Wow, looks like i'm beginning to get this saracasm thing.
