  1. Honestly, of all the places people swear have good wings, Gabriel's is the one place I've never had good wings once on multiple occasions to the point I gave up. Most overrated wings. As a died in the wool Buffalonian, I go anywhere someone says they're good and I've been everywhere. Gabriel's is bottom of the list, just below Anchor. So many good spots, my current faves, which are slightly off the traditional Bflo recipe, but consistently good and crispy are 911 and Kelly's Korner.

Try The Globe in E. Aurora. Buy one get one on Tuesdays

  2. Neither is a starting caliber QB at this level.

EJ does seem to do better when he is unscripted.

Whatever magic/ spark we saw two summers ago from TT is clearly gone, like Edwards after his concussion.

This is why we need to lose out and draft a QB

Really! I guess we should draft a guy like Jax's QB or perhaps Houston's. Even Wentz, who I like a lot, seems to have regressed a bit from his fast start. Is the draft a crap shoot ? You bet. For the time being, I'll stick with our guy until at least the end of the year. Don't forget that we have a third QB on the team who hopefully will benefit from his year on the bench. We shall see.

  3. I don't expect them to win either game, but If I had to pick, I would say they have a better shot of beating New England at home vs beating Seattle in their stadium. Seattle is nearly unbeaten at home over the last few years.

The Bills have played the Pats close in recent year and have had chances to win. If they can get a turnover or two, they might have a shot. I read that the Pats are the only team to make it to Week 7 without a pick. Hopefully that changes this week.

Miami played Seattle even last month at Seattle.

  4. That's where he belongs. He can potentially help the team there. He can't be the guy carrying the ball but he can be dangerous in the slot, in space and down the field.

Don't know if he has the toughness needed to catch balls from the slot.. He may be ok but I would prefer that they find another WR.

They'll have Kiko in there to sniff out any screens. Id like to see them set up a wheel route to Reggie at some point and try to catch them sleeping. Kikos really good when the ball is in front of him, but he can be fooled in coverage downfield.

Best LB I have seen on the flair passes to the RB.

  5.

I think with the Justin Hunter signing it was obvious that the front office wasn't completely comfortable with who they had on the roster behind Sammy. I liked the Hunter signing he was the best free agent out there in my opinion but he isn't too much of a difference maker other than being a big body in the red zone.

I think via trade is the only avenue that would produce a receiver that would be an upgrade over Hunter. I am not sure the Jets or Fins would trade the Bills Marshall or Landry if they were in fire sale mode. Andre Johnson for a 7th rounder might be a interesting desperation move but once again not sure if he is better than Hunter. To me the Bills 2 best and most realistic options are Alshon Jeffery or Golden Tate.

Jeffery is the better player but is most likely a rental who comes at a high cost. Tate for a 5th rounder I would do in a heartbeat but not sure that would get it done. The reason I like Tate is not only is he cheaper (Both in terms of what draft pick you would have to give up and in terms of his cap number) but he is signed to a longer term deal which means that if Woods left via free agency Tate could fill his role as the #2 receiver once Sammy gets back. Jeffery would most likely be gone via free agency which means the team would have one less high draft pick and one more big hole to fill. Tate isn't as talented as Jeffery but Tate adds enough play making ability to the fold where adding him helps the offense out against better teams.

I've been watching Tate every week because he is on my fantasy team. He doesn't look the same. He seems to be going through the motions & has that Cutler look on his face like he doesn't care. The Tate from last year would be a great addition.

Andre Johnson has nothing left, Marshall is too high priced both on salary and what the Jets would want. I like Hunter, Clay needs to be a much larger piece as someone already stated drops are killing us. Fewer opportunities you can't drop the damn thing. Goodwin is the chief culprit

I read that Glass has zero drops this year.

  6. TT's numbers are the last aspect of his game I look at on a weekly basis. He's got serious flaws in his game and I'll just leave it at that.

And you're absolutely right, we won. That's the bottom line. So no more negatives from me on this point.

    For now.

L.A. has a good D. They held Seattle & Russell Wilson without a TD. We ought to keep things in perspective. TT is obviously no Brady or Marino, but he is a talented guy who imo will get better as the season moves along. Let's see what happens before we call him a failure or a franchise QB. So far he is 11-8 as a starter.

  7. Got to say something about the atrocious clock management (or lack thereof) at the 4 minute mark. The Bills could have run off a minute, instead they snap it early and throw an incomplete pass. Ugh. But a win is a win. And as we all know, "it's hard to win in this league."

3-2 and a game out of the top spot, can't complain about that.

Near the end of the game, we are leading & they get a 5 yd penalty. 1st & 5. We run for 2-3 yds. Then we pass. Why? Run the ball when you are looking to burn clock, especially when you only have to go 5 yds for a 1st down. Go Bills

  8.

I like his drafting for the most part. But if he is that good, and the scouting staff is bolstered with Pegula bucks... it would be better if he wasnt spending multiple picks on Watkins, Ragland, and Bryce Brown. Would rather he trade down and get more good players.

One example is 2013 (a draft I put on Whaley for good and bad, its ludicrous to think he was bound and gagged while Nix forced picks on him). Traded down, still had a shot at a QB (wrong move)... but also was able to get Kiko Alonso, Marquis Goodwin, and Chris Gragg with the windfall... and also was able to pick Robert Woods, Meeks, and Duke Williams.... (Dustin Hopkins too who is good but Carpenter was un-cuttable)

If Whaley has a knack for identifying talent, that is more the reason to stack draft picks. Imagine the assets they would have had if they had traded down from #9 in 2014 instead of up for Watkins. Still could have gotten Derek Carr or Kelvin Benjamin no matter how far they traded down, plus had a pile of picks, as well as hanging on to their 2015 1st and 4th... plus a whole lot more from the trade.

    hindsight ???

  9. Tyrod looked a lot better in the first half. Think some of their adjustments shut TT down in the second, but we still moved the ball OK and the defense was lights out so it all worked out for us in the end. Still need to see him stepping up into more of his throws, or at least set his feet properly. But to your point, he is definitely looking improved over the first couple weeks.

Even the great ones miss a few throws every game.

  10. Second round picks are going to have more leeway than late round picks. If Kujo would have been a sixth round selection he would have been cut by now. The problem I have with Kujo is that it appears that he lacks versatility. As it stands he hasn't been used as a backup swing guard, and at RT he is a befuddled player. Mills is definitely better than Kujo is as a RT. Mills is far from being an elite lineman but he is a sound player

Kujo's best position is at LT. It seems that position is a more natural fit for him. However, when Glenn gets healthy enough he certainly is better than Kujo on the left side. Maybe a solution to this staffing puzzle is to keep Kujo at LT and move Glenn to RT, a move that I'm not sure that Glenn would be happy with?

In hindsight I would say that Kujo was not a good pick as a high second round selection. Although that doesn't mean that he is a bust. The knee concern that kept him off of some teams' draft board has affected him as a player and diminished his value as a high round pick.

Glenn already has his left tackle contract in hand. He could move to RT with no problem.

  11. Pro Football Focus has Corey Graham rated as the 5th best safety in the NFL. He has played much better so far. What do you guys think? He made a heck of a play versus the Cards last game. Great play design and execution by the team.

***If you have trouble viewing open in youtube***

Looks like he intercepted, hit the ground without being touched & ended up out of bounds in the end zone. Shouldn't the ball then be placed on the 20 ?

He's been better in coverage this year than last, though not as noticeable in the run game (not sure that's a bad thing).

I'm hoping it's a comfort-level thing for him, and that we can expect continued improvement throughout the year.

Bad news is that I think this is most likely his last year with the team.

    maybe ed reed has helped.

  12. Are you kidding? We should have started Cardale. Tyrod was sooooooo inaccurate today. He missed like 5 open receivers. Led us to a victory but his stats were terrible. Bench him and start EJ

I was impressed with Powell today Ive been a staunch supporter of Walt since TC. Happy to see him finally get in the game and get a chance to make plays. I wonder whos better when bullets are flying. Powell vs Salas.

So he missed some open receivers. Any chance you watched Big Ben yesterday. He missed way more than 5. It happens.

  13. Nope nope nope

I have yet to see an athlete/QB that even comes close to Jackson from Louisville. I haven't seen him throw long but he is very accurate on the short stuff & swing passes. Having said that, he is the fastest & shiftiest athlete that I've seen in a long time.

He will get a stern test next week at Clemson. We can judge him against the Clemson QB who is a consensus 1st rounder this next draft.
