I'm still struggling with the timing of this being released now.  It's strange to me.  But, love or hate McD, you can never argue that he has his players backs and it showed with this article and responses.  Coaching aside, bad context or not, McD has every players respect.

Now, IF I were a conspiracy theorists, did this article drop now as potential fuel for Pegula to have another piece of ammo to fire McD if things don't go well....

Did you see the video of McDermott's post-game locker room speech? Pegula was standing behind him grinning like the Cheshire Cat. Firing the HC is not in his plans at all, IMO. If anything, by beating KC, McD probably moved closer to 'made man' in Pegula's mind. Those of us who don't particularly like him are likely stuck with him for better or worse.

The odd thing I saw online was that Wolfson and another reporter claimed they saw Toney check with the official before the ball was snapped to make sure he was onside.

They both later deleted that with zero explanation.

I’m sure they deleted it because the All- 22 angles clearly show that Toney never looked the officials way.

Tasker & Brown said today that Reid and Toney both admitted that Toney never checked with the officials to make sure that he was not offside. Reid acknowledged that Toney was lined up offside but only "by inches" which is false. The blue line on TV is actually beyond the line of scrimmage and Toney's toes were on that line in the visual. He was blatantly offside. Reid's admission was akin to a "yeah but..." half-arsed apology, IMO. He and Kermit have gotten borderline calls in their favor for years, including in the Super Bowl. That offside was not a subjective call, it was a letter of the law infraction and they have been enforcing it more this year. Just sour grapes by these asshats and a no class handling of the situation on their part.

    * Really, “sn@tch” is blocked? 😂

I worked in a record store in the late '80s. We used to get free merch during 'album pulls' at the end of every month when the store was done using the promo materials. I grabbed this album solely for the name of the band and still have it today.  😂

Moral victory season!!! Hang the banner for a hard-fought loss against a good team!! Congrats to all involved in the narrow defeat!!

This cat is delusional. He's spitting into the wind with this LAMP 'moral victory' thread and calling out people who have an issue with McDermott as 'entitled'.

Nah I ain’t taking moral victors, I’m taking actual ball.

The bills are not a talented football team. Their defense is bottom 15 in terms of talent. The WR corps is probably bottom 10.

How is it possible for the Bills be this under talented and yet still some games like they did against the Dolphins and yes against the Eagles?

could it be that McDermott and Allen actually have this team playing better than it’s talent levels at this point?

Yeah, you are. Starting a thread titled, 'Bills took the best team in the NFL to OT…' is the very definition of taking a moral victory. Spin it any way you like.

Again after another very painful loss where I could not sleep well I am interested to listen any remaining McDermott supporters on why he should remain HC next season.  Please be brave and don't hide until after our next win and you already blew the season

Reading thru these threads, I've only seen one that I can recall. Maybe there are still a few but there are fewer and fewer willing to stay on 'The Island of Misfit Toys'.

  7. McDermott is Marty Schottenheimer 2.0. Good enough to return a moribund franchise to respectability but not good enough to get them over the hump. There is a large enough body of work at this point which shows his incompetence in big game situations and he's either too stubborn or too obtuse to learn from his mistakes. Unfortunately, I don't see Pegula firing his high character, Christian coach and we will witness Josh Allen's career be wasted under Marty McDermott. I'd rather win with the devil than lose with an angel.

Anywhere. It's time for change for both sides.

It would have to be to an organization who shares his apparent disdain for analytics and 'punt first' mentality.

BTW, it's not likely the Rooney family would ever part ways with him unless he inexplicably embarrassed them publicly. Canada was the first coach of any kind that they have let go in-season since...1941. Right, wrong, or indifferent, it's just not their m.o.

It hit his outstretched  hands while he was almost in a dive. With the rain.
may he should’ve caught it but it wasn’t a gimme. Kermit should have put some arc on that

Watch it again. He got both hands on the ball and was nowhere close to being in an all out dive. Starting NFL WRs not named Gabe Davis make that catch

    You guys are nutso.

There was zero need for him to fall all over himself; he was in midstride when that ball contacted his hands and then he went stumbling and bumbling after it.

Agreed. It hit MVS right in his mitts of stone. That drop is squarely on the mediocre-at-best WR and the front office who thought he was somehow worth a damn.
