  1. in all honesty this really is a non-issue....the Bills need just 2 LBs to play....call him whatever you want but Bryron Scott plays quite a bit as a safety/LB or they put in a slot 3rd CB...or they bring in a 5th DL...either way...they only need 2 LBs to play.

This is a good point, and it's been making me feel better about the LB situation.

To summarize: Bad sign for Sheppard. Good sign for Morrison. Irrelevant for McKillop.

    Yep.

  2. Everyone is voicing so much concern about keeping John Potter, yet no one ever is against keeping Ruvell Martin or Corey McIntyre because they are Specialists. Here is the reality - by keeping Potter it actually opens up roster spots. For kickoffs, NFL teams dislike using their good players as there is a significant increased risk in injury (punts don't have the set up as a kickoff), therefore teams need 10 quality players for kick coverage. By having Potter, you eliminate the need for these 10 players and roster spots on players such as McIntyre, could be used elsewhere. One would argue that most of these people are also on punt coverage, but that actually isn't entirely true given the nature of the play (you may have 5-6 players overlapping).

While I'm not disagreeing with your overall premise, I think there are a ton of people on this board who were against keeping Ruvell, especially last season.

  3. Casey Pachall 6'5" 226 TCU QB Hometown:

Second-team All-Mountain West selection ... appeared on the Manning Award Watch List ... started all 13 games ... set TCU single-season records for completions (228), completion percentage (66.5), passing yards (2,921) ... ranked 12th nationally in passing efficiency with a 157.98 rating ... completed 66.5 percent of his passes with 25 touchdowns and just seven interceptions ... Walter Camp National Player of the Week after career-high totals of 473 yards passing (24-of-37) and five touchdowns in a 36-35 win at No. 5 Boise State ... the 473 yards passing at Boise State were the most by a TCU quarterback in the 11-season tenure of head coach Gary Patterson and the second-best single-game total in school history ... the five touchdown passes tied a TCU single-game record shared by three others ... rallied TCU three times this season from fourth-quarter deficits, including two of at least 17 points ... his fourth-quarter TD toss to Skye Dawson put TCU ahead for good in the Poinsettia Bowl ... threw for at least one touchdown in 10 of 13 games, including multiple scores in eight contests ... responsible for 34 points at both Boise State and Baylor, tying for the fourth-best single-game total in TCU history ... threw for four touchdowns at Baylor, one shy of the TCU single-game record, in his first collegiate start ... a completion percentage of 80.0 (20-of-25) at Air Force tied for the eighth-best single-game mark in TCU history ... his 11 straight completions to start the Air Force game tied Andy Dalton (vs. Baylor, 2010) for second all-time in most consecutive completions at TCU ... received Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week honors for his efforts in the Air Force game.

NOOOOOOOO!!! Not another QB that the Barbarian likes!

  4. Wow I did not see this coming. Not sure how I feel about it yet, I would have liked to see what he could contribute during a real game. He does fit much better as a 34 OLB, however.

He was a good ambassador for the Bills while he was here, especially for potential free agents.

  5. I posted this a few days ago:

I know that he will most likely be cut, but I'm surprised that there is not more chatter about Delano Howell. Anyone notice how he's been doing at camp? Nix said he wanted to add another safety, but hasn't done so yet. Maybe Howell has a fighting chance?

I thought he played very well. If Chan and Nix were planning on bringing in another safety, I guess it's reasonable to assume a spot is attainable. Go Cardinal.

  6. ?

I believe he's referring to your roster, compiled of players from various seasons, and the question provided by the OP:

You can choose between an "All-Star" Bills defense from the last decade and this years unproven, yet uber-talented "paper" D.

Regardless, you put together a solid D. I might tweak it, but still.

  7. I'll take the 1999 Bills defense in a heartbeat!!!!!!

    Henry Jones

    Sam Rogers

    John Holecek

    Phil Hansen

    Kurt Schulz

    Bruce Smith

    Ted Washington

    Antoine Winfield

    Pat Williams

    Marcellus Wiley

Sorry, but to me they were more talented.

    Hey Bmore,

Is there some joke I'm not getting in your signature? I don't recall beating the Pats* in '08...
