This 12th man on the field thing is incredible.

He isn't getting to the ball because of his speed/grasp of the game. It's too fast for him to process, to play, to work. Seeing it, understanding it, processing it, acting on it are easy to do from a distance and in replay. In the moment the game is a blink of an eye.

Is it the scheme or the players? The past always had 1/11. Each man a part of the unit. Each man as strong as the weakest. Now it is inversed. The weakest are as strong as we get.

But it's not McDermotts fault they'll say. There was a BS penalty that got called on the first series that was perfectly scripted to take advantage of our obvious weaknesses. And than when we fumbled it, that wasn't on the defense! The defense was already fired in the first 22 minutes of the season in 58° weather. Can't wait until we fire this chump.
