i do realize they are different positions. one plays offense and one plays defense. it's not trolling. i don't think many will view him as a CB. except it was stated by GM's and scouts that they did not want draft CMC for this reason. Kirk Morrison spoke about it on Sirius NFL radio when CMC came out. I don't think it has any merit in truth to the abilities of any player but NFL Scouts had told him and others, he claimed, that it was a reason they did not want him for this reason.

Similarly, we dismiss their viewpoints when negative because we only choose to see the good. These narratives set by the media resonate across the league to form popular beliefs. Those popular beliefs are often something we toe when viewing other teams. So, all things being equal we should remain focused on the greater populist narrative when gauging our team. Pulling back in to his statement we will have two outcomes possible. In the first we will all expect to win because there are few reasons we should lose. The resulting storylines after victory can easily write themselves. However, if we lose will the same narratives from earlier this season bounce right back? Were they wrong to begin with? This team needs sweeping changes across the roster and across the way the team is managed & coached, regardless of the win. I will leave those changes open to anyone willing to challenge themselves and others to the outcomes. So, if we win than it is what we expect. If we lose than we get exposed prematurely to what most of us already know in the back of our heads: we are a pretty flawed team.

I should have pulled the trigger 2 months ago on tickets for this one because I can take Cheapo Air down there for $130. Back in Nov. Tickets for lower bowl were $240 for very good seats and airfare from Spirit was $70.

no. at least imo. in our defense the safety can play as deep as 20 yards or as little as only 8-9. We disguise our safety coverage and positions often to make it hard to distinguish the deep safety vs the many other opportunities we give the remainder (generally Poyer). If you remember earlier we have run Poyer as a linebacker at some times - especially when we used Rapp, Hyde and Poyer together. The safety position would require Elam to read the play very quickly and determine the quickest route to cut off a play or put himself in position to be a factor. He seems decent at processing the play and he is very fast but his turning ability and cutting ability is not up to snuff to free roam the backfield. A good case in point that is known to see great turn and pursuit is watching Hyde on the Perfect Game against the Patriots when he made that pick. Once he recognized the play he turned quickly to make an angle to get to the play.
