  1. With our O-Line being so bad and the rumor of trading lynch to gb for an offensive lineman, it got me thinking.

There are players that start on our line that would be lucky to be backups on other teams. Well, what about the reverse logic? Don't you think that there are some very serviceable backups out there for strong offensive lines that would be a large improvement over what we have? I have to think there are players that are backups that we could trade a later round pick for, and see immediate improvement, as well as depth. And definitely get a better value than someone we would have drafted in those picks.

I'm not saying I know who these people are, but just think of backups for teams like the ravens, titans, and chargers. Really strong lines.

    Thoughts?

The Bills should make trades for draft picks, not players. Go thru the roster and count the players you would keep, 15 maybe 20. We need to rebuild thru the draft.

  2. I am not a big fan of Sully, mostly because I am not a big fan of anyone that is always negative. But how could people who get paid to judge talent, not have seen what most of us non professionals saw regarding Edwards? Most of us knew he isn't an NFL QB. So now they are going to start a guy, who is at best a good second string QB. Most of us know this, doesn't Gailey? I have not seen enough of Brohm to know what he is, he must be terrible in practice, because he was given no shot. But if you know what we know why not give Brohm a shot?

Please don't misundrstand me, I am not a Trent or Fitz hater or a Brohm fan, but if we know what the first two guys can do and we have the third guy on the roster, why not find out? At least we could be less delusional and move forward.

  3. We often hear about how every team needs an identity, something that sets them apart from most other teams, its normally something the team does well and has done well over an extended period of time. In many cases the teams identity can be directly connected to why the team wins football games.

Many folks believe the Buffalo Bills lack an identity, and to be a successful ball club the Bills need to form an identity. In my opinion the Buffalo Bills have had an identity over the last few years and as in many cases its the reason the Bills generally win.

Jabari Greer was part of that identity, eventually moving on to the World Champion New Orleans Saints where Greer was instrumental in helping the Saints win their first Championship. Antoine Winfield was part of that identity before he moved on to the Vikings, Winfield is seen by many of his peers as pound per pound the hardest hitting player in the National Football League.

The Buffalo Bills have been producing some of the best DB's in the Country and the with the addition of Leaodis McKelvin the Bills continue to draft and develop some of the most talented CB's the NFL has ever seen. After a rough rookie start in the Bills 09 season where the young and talented McKelvin caught a kickoff in his own endzone with Buffalo up 24-19 over the New England Patriots in the season opener with 2:06 left in the game. McKelvin chose to return the ball instead of downing it and fumbled around the 30 yard line. It was his second fumble of the game. New England drove from the 31 yard line for what turned out to be the winning touchdown.

We all know what happened afterward, Leodis Mckelvin's property was later vandalized by a couple of teenagers painting obscenities as well as the phrase "take a knee" and the winning score of 25-24 in favor of New England on his front lawn. McKelvin chose not to press charges against the two teenagers.

Leodis McKelvin is a cornerstone of why I believe the Buffalo Bills are building a Championship caliber football team and with the likes of the ever so dangerous Terrence McGee and Jaiurus "the bird man" Byrd, throwing the ball against the Buffalo Bills defense is like throwing into the mouth of a pack of hungry wolves.

So the next time someone asks you, in a pass happy league, going up against some of the best signal callers the NFL has ever seen, who are these guys,

You tell them the Buffalo Bills are a QB's worse nightmare, that's who we are,

    Bills 31 Packers 16

    I Billieve...

    Wasn't Mckelvin a rookie in 2008?

  4. I (God help me) rewatched the game. The play of the tackles was not good, Bell/Merdeth were not good, Green was horrible. I am not a Trent hater, but over four years he has had different O lines, different receivers and different coaches, same results. He is the one constant.

Watching Flacco last night, a pretty good QB, if he sees a receiver one on one, he trust his receiver to make a play and anticipates. Trent just does not do this.

  5. The D looked better than I thought. The O looked much worse, I'll have to watch it again and focus on the line, but I think Edwards is the problem. It is to many years of him playing with different people, not to reach that conclusion. He must practice well, but when it counts, he just can't do it.

When you hold a team to 13 points in your own building, you have to win the game. Very disapointing.

  6. No rivalry? I live in South Florida and recently called a local air conditioning co. The repair guy shows up in a van with Dolphins stuff all over it, and on the roof was "billssuck.com", with Bills logo with a red circle and line thru it.

It was ninety in may house and I still told him I didn't need his service.

  7. In the '30 years ago today' thread, many are chiming in on the end of Dolphin dominance in 1980. Got me thinking about Bills Opening Day games, and -as an old guy- I have seen many. Whole lotta bad memeories including some from this century: Jags & Broncos last plays and last years collapse @ NE.

But my all-time favorite wasn't actually a Day. '74 opener, with Howard, Giff & Dandy Don in the booth, we welcomed the previously MNF undefeated Oakland Raiders. They had HOFer's all over the place, including the grand old man, Blanda. A close game into the 4th, Fergy hit Rashad for the go-ahead score late. We got the ball back to run out the clock when diaster struck. Braxton fumbled and Art Thoms returned it for a Raider lead. I'n tellin' ya, you could have heard a pin drop in Rich.

Undaunted, Fergy -with the help of a couple typical unsportsmanlike conduct penalties on the Raiders- drove us right back down the field and hit Rashad AGAIN for a go-ahead score. Still, Snake Stabler led Oakland to a makeable, last second FG for the win. But the Grand Old Man missed right as the gun sounded! Still brings a thrill recollecting!!

I was at both of those games and both were great! Blanda missed a 47 yard field goal on his 47th birthday, BILLS WIN!!

Oh yeah, I forgot, 47 seconds on the clock.

  8. I recorded, and watched both the Jets and Dolphins games. Both Sanchez and Henne looked less than average. I have no idea what the sports media sees in these teams. On the NFL Network, last night, Marshall Faulk said that the Jets will win alot of games, they have a strong D and weak O, but "they won't out score alot of teams".

What? How do you win and not out score the other team?
