  1. "There has been alot of speculation about the Bills trading their WR Lee Evans, it turns out they are open to dealing Lee Evans their former 1st round pick, and it looks like a trade could be consumated within the next 48 hours, he would be a vertical threat for whichever team trades for him." - Adam Schefter

  2. Yeah, there's the risk he might not play...But your professional medical opinion aside, a partially healthy Gaither is better than full healthy and awful Pears or Wang... You give a guy like that a small 1 year contract, what's the worst that happens...we cut the Amazing Mansfield Wrotto or Wang? The best that happens is we actually have a capable OT.

I've not heard anything bad about Pears this offseason or training camp and have a hard time trashing him before seeing him play in any type of game.

  3. Wood probably finds a spot on their Oline at RG

I'd take Stevie Johnson over Chad Johnson

Maybe Evans over Branch or Tate

Fred Jackson I would view as better than Green-Ellis

They're playing a 43 so it's tough to compare defenses.

But I'd take Merriman over Andre Carter

    Kyle Williams over Shaun Ellis

Barnett over Ninkovich and/or Brandon Spikes

Not sure on McGee or Florence vs. Bodden

  4. Maybin making plays

Over the course of the past couple of practices, Aaron Maybin has been more noticeable on the field. He’s been around the ball more and Wednesday night might have been his best practice of camp.

During 11-on-11 he had a quarterback pressure on Levi Brown that led to an incompletion. He had a ‘would be’ sack on Tyler Thigpen as he tagged the quarterback out before he completed a pass to Marcus Easley. And he had a quarterback pressure on Ryan Fitzpatrick forcing him to throw off his back foot, which led to Drayton Florence’s interception to close out practice.

Stringing together more days like Wednesday will do nothing but help his cause.

  5. Steve Smith signed a one year deal with a contending team in which he is going to start the season on the PUP list due to offseason surgery. I highly doubt the Bills were on Smith's radar for the type of deal he was looking for. Not a missed opportunity, it's one that was never there.

  6. eehh, i'm a thinking we Are getting a little concerned after the Bell injury. i think something is in the works, geez i hope so.

Yes its just been the depression issues, and a "lack of work ethic". Anyone who has ever suffered any kind of depression understands exactly what that is like so they kind of go hand and hand. Andrews is sort of an oddball character, but definitely a very good football player. I doubt we are even interested though. Why bring in a solid veteran tackle when you already have a roster full of scrubs at that position.

Bell is practicing today, as for Andrews he went MIA on Philadelphia and after returning missed most of the 2008 season with a back injury that eventually required surgery. He then missed all of 2009 after re injuring the back. The injury also flared up mid season last year resulting in hospitalization My link and games missed. This guy sounds as bad or worse than Gaither when it comes to injury history.

  7. “I think it just got caught in Wood’s shoulder pads,” Troup told Buffalobills.com. “I went to long arm him and I couldn’t really tell when it happened. I just went back to the sideline and I just felt the pain. I thought I may have jammed a finger or something, but they told me I had to go get it x-rayed.”

  8. Joe Buscaglia

#Bills WR Stevie Johnson does NOT want to see Lee Evans go anywhere: "This is Lee we're talking about. He's our guy. To lose him, it would be like, 'Man, I can't believe he's gone.' But you can't really dwell on it. Now we're just hoping that it's not going to happen."

  9. Trading Evans following a down season has drastically reduced his value. Look back at what Boldin, Marshall, and more recently Ochocinco were had for. In Marshall's case he was coming of a Pro Bowl season. The Bill's would be extremely lucky to get a 4th rounder for him. Is this value equal to his skill/impact. No. Keeping him just became that much easier.

Slight difference in the Boldin & Marshall deals in that the trading teams were then going to have to give them new large contracts reducing their market value.

  10. I have to agree with this. Especially about the part about listening to what the coach said. Gailey basically admitted he is working with a train wreck of an O-line right now. Ubrik has never been a starter, and no other team was interested in him. Pears has had trouble landing a spot as a backup anywhere else. Now he's our starter

Urbik was picked up off waivers from Pittsburgh, there were reportedly multiple other teams that put in claims.

  11. Player for player, youngish starting RT or nothing. Is their Levi Brown any good?

He's listed as their starting LT, I doubt they're looking to move him. I'm guessing the return would be similar to what they got for Marshawn, so a 4th & a 6th?

  12. Due to the position he plays, even when the season starts it's going to be difficult to quantify his impact with stats etc. More of an eyeball test, which he seemingly has been passing in camp. Seems as though all of the camp reports I've read haev raved about the push the Dline as a whole is getting up front. Even Chan has said as much in his post practice interviews.

  13. It’s been mentioned before, but this time Bills head coach Chan Gailey spelled out exactly why they moved Arthur Moats to inside linebacker for the 2011 season.

“The development we felt of (Danny) Batten and (Antonio) Coleman and we also got Shawne Merriman,” said Gailey. ”And you look at the prototypical outside backers and there are not a lot of six footers out there and we felt like his quickness and speed allowed him to be a better inside backer than outside backer.”

Moats is only 6’0″ tall and most OLBs in a 3-4 scheme are at least 6’3″. Having a taller frame with longer arms generally makes an OLB a better pass rusher in a 3-4 scheme, which is why scouts sometimes weigh height heavily for that position.

    No mention of Maybin.

  14. Not only the draft pick, but if he's traded the other team has to pick up his current salary.

8/21/2009: Signed a five-year, $17.6 million contract. The deal contains $15 million guaranteed, including a $7.087 million signing bonus. Another $7.4 million is available through incentives based on playing time and sacks. 2011: $757,500, 2012: $1.12 million, 2013: $1.4825 million, 2014: $1.5 million (Voidable Year), 2015: Free Agent

$757K for 2011 plus incentives that I'm sure have not been reached. Not overly restrictive, though I doubt anyone would want to give something for him if they know they could have him for free in a few weeks.

  15. Torbor has played all of the positions, so that makes sense. Interesting to see Moats in the middle. So it seems as if they are looking at Barnett/Torbor as the middle combo at the moment. I thought Coleman looked decent in a very small sample. For those who hate Kelsey, especially at OLB, they better hope Batten or Coleman can show enough to be starters...Batten has been hyped up, it would be sweet for him to show it on the field.

Andra Davis is starting at ILB, not Torbor

  16. Did you watch the Pittsburgh game? I thought he was abysmal in that one. Also, don't see why we need him if he is only to be used when we run the 4-3, lotta money for a part time player. Would he be in during nickel situations?

    Only making $2M this year.

    9/29/2010: Signed a five-year, $28.2 million contract. The deal contains $11 million in bonus money. 2011: $2 million, 2012: $3.5 million, 2013: $3.725 million, 2014: $3.745 million, 2015: Free Agent
