  1. We've let better players than Lynch go in free agency getting nothing in return.

So to me trading him is no big loss.

I place the law as a priority over football any day.

He is obviously still a reckless retard.

Better that he does his driving in another city, this way if he kills someone it will be someone no one here knows.

Wow, your intelligence keeps shining through!

  2. First of all I find it odd that you don't know the difference between your and you're.

Maybe you should pay some attention to your reading and writing skills instead of stalking me.

Secondly if I were here for it I would have made 10000 posts criticizing Losman.

You might have ended up counting those too.

People who live in glass huts, should not throw bricks.....aren't you the clown who started the thread

    but can't spell...McGahee?? lol

  3. I was working at a show at a rock club in St. Louis, and I was introduced to one of the head security guys....Curtis Brown. I heard he was the guy who used to play for the Bills, so I asked him about it. I said, "Didn't you return a kick for a TD?"

"Yep," he said. "102 yards?" "Yes sir." "You still a fan?" "Yep, once a Bill, always a Bill."

I have no idea how I remembered that 102 yard kickoff return, but I just looked it up, and it's true.

    What a small world, eh? He's 54, doesn't look a day over 40.

Yeah, he was very versatile......Didn't he do a stint with the Sabres as well?

  4. Your comment was ignorant and I didn't like it. It wasn't necessary to jump down my throat like that. The guy was a cap casualty and had been hurt the past two years. But he had been great before. I never said he's the answer to our prayers or that he would fix our woes. Or even that we needed him. But going with today's theme of Greer threads I honestly felt that this available CB is news of relevance. I also never said that our DE situation wasn't an issue. This was a thread about a CB and you turned into a personal attack on me. Thanks.

I'm not a GM, nor to be I pretend to be but somehow because you have a different opinion, internet access and a keyboard my post is bad and you're a football genius? Let's be realistic and let's be civil.

    u

You post this "According to your logic, not looking at all available players as we enter free agency is knowledgeable. Actually, it's the antithesis of knowledgeable. Congrats, how does the foot in your mouth taste? " and then get all sensitive about him "attacking" you??? Get a set of Kahona pal or have your wife post.

  5. Brian Leonard is just a local boy from this area. He is a hometown hero that I will always pull for. He's your hardworking kid who grew up on a family farm and made it to the NFL and appreciates it very much just like his family. You can almost bet you won't find him put thugging around in California anytime soon with unlicensed handguns.

Why attack me personally or the guy I root for? I wasn't the guy caught with the handgun. It's not me getting into trouble now is it?

Peace my fellow Bills fan. :w00t:

Its not getting me into trouble now either is it????

Great that he is such a nice farm boy.....too bad he can't play a lick!

  6. If the Bills could pick up Boldin for a 3rd or 4th rounder I'd say do it and cut Jenkins. Jenkins is probably more expendable than I think but it would take a big name like Boldin to remove him, JMO. Nobody on the list seems worth it except for T.J. Houshmandzadeh and he'll probably get a contract for more than he's worth.

Do you honestly think they can get Boldin for a 3rd or 4th rounder?? He is one of top 5 receivers in the game.

    Get real!

  7. Oh really now Billsvet...hmmm, lets just look at combined QB play in 2007 and 2008 for Buffalo between Trent and JP (mos of this is Trent)

    2007:

Yards: 2834 = 177 yards per game (a joke for an NFL team)

    TD's: 11

    INT's 14

    TD:INT ratio: .79:1

    Sacks: 26

    2008:

    Yards: 3283 = 205 yards per game

    TD's: 13

    INT's: 15

    TD:INT ratio: .87:1

    Sacks: 38

Summary, in 32 games our QB's have passed for only 24 TD's total (unbelievably pathetic), 29 INT's (awful), have a TD:INT ratio less than 1:1 at .83:1, average ONLY 191.16 yards per game (incredibly pathetic) and have been sacked 64 times (or twice a game, not terrible, but not very good).

Also, during that span, Trent has 5 LOST fumbles and JP has 6 LOST fumbles for another 11 turnovers...so TD to turnover ratio plummets to .60:1 when you factor that in...(horrendous)

But you are right Billsvet, thats top notch production and in NO WAY a problem on this team...come on now, even you have to admit that is atrocious!

That is not the production of a winning team, that is the production of a 3 win team, and its a minor miracle that we amassed 7 wins both seasons...and that is not even factoring all the injuries we had on our D...

Until that QB production changes we are doomed to be below .500. You CAN NOT WIN IN THIS LEAGUE WHEN YOU HAVE 40, YES 40 TURNOVERS FROM YOUR QB'S AND ONLY 24 PASSING TD'S IN 32 GAMES and average LESS THAN 200 YARDS PASSING OVER 2 WHOLE SEASONS!

I mean come on...I know you are about as stubborn as they come with this Trent thing, but even you have to admit that it is atrocious and we will never win with that kind of production.\

You were right about one thing though...Garcia is the polar opposite of Trent...He is a good QB and Trent is not, at least not up to this point he hasnt...

Its not all about stats with a young QB. Its learning the game and intangibles. Any body on here who watched JP and Trent can see the difference in them.

Look at these stats...not great and somewhat comparable to Trents

    Know whos they are??

GS QBrec Cmp Att Cmp% Yds TD Int Y/G Rate Sk

    7 2-5-0 176 273 64.5 1795 15 9 119.7 87.8 15

Joe Montana in his 2nd year.

  8. Who the hell says peters is worth more than his current contract? I ahvent seen anything.

NEWSFLASH FOR YOU HARDHEADS...........Peters isnt getting a new contract this year. IF he does I will leave this board forever. therefore, another holdout will ensue, followed but sh------- play, and a dinged up Trentski.

Leave the board forever??? Promise?? I will not lead the lets get Peters a new contract campaign!!

  9. Aloha..

    Another glorious day in Hawaii!

I am attending my 1st Pro Bowl today. Been a dream of mine since I grew up in Bufffalo some 30 years ago.

Funny how life always gives you what you want...eventually. You just "Bill-ieve"

I am hoping to see Lynch today before the game and have a chat with him and I'll write a post after I get back.

    Mahalo friends...

    (Thanks in Hawaiian)

I used to live in Hawaii and attend the Pro bowl. The game itself sucks, the pre game party before is fun though.

So you think LYnch is stopping by your tailgate? lol

  10. That's right, he'll come at a steep price. The starting point for a trade would be what Dallas paid for Roy Williams (who, although good is probably not as good as Boldin). That price was a 1st, a 3rd, and a 5th I believe. Boldin would probably command more.

I'd hate to see the Bills give up that much for Boldin, especially as he also wants his contract redone.

I'd rather they made an all-out play for T.J. Houshmandzadeh or Antonio Bryant. We'd have to give them almost the same amount of money but we wouldn't have to give up the draft picks. Seems like the free agent route makes more sense than a trade to me.

I live in Phoenix and see Bolidin play every week and he is monster and a gamer. BUT......

    1. We don't need another player who wants his contract re-negotiated. We already hae a line forming

    behind Peters and Stroud.

2.I would never pay the price Dallas did for Williams and I agree Boldin would command more.

3 Anonio Bryant is a younger, less talented version of TO. Check out his history of behavior, so there is no

    way they would sign him.

    4. Houshmandzadeh would be the way to go.

  11. It was terrific. Best opening sequence in the five years The Office has been on the air.

I tape every episode of The Office for Kim because she works on Thursday nights. She didn't see this one until yesterday morning, but Kim absolutely loved it.

good, we are all happy Kim got to see it. lol

  12. Yes that's how I describe them and several others from that genre.

I am not clammoring for AC/DC either. I think that the NFL could find some more mainstream bands that represent the region. For example, play in Minnesota, then get Prince. Play in Toronto get Rush, play in NY sure get Springsteen.

As far as bigger acts, maybe, maybe not, but I have never been a fan of their music and just because someone puts on a great show doesn't make them a good musician.

Great idea for when the SB is played in Toronto, NY and Minn again....lol. idiot

  13. Here is an interesting call to think about and how you would have handled it should it have occurred and it was close!

With 2:58 left in the game, the Steelers were on their own 1ft line with a 3rd adn 10.

What ultimately happend was the Roethlisberger hit Holmes for a 20yd pass that was called back because of holidng

    and led to a safety.

What if Holmes doesn't make the catch and its incomplete and there is flag for holding still.

Do you accept the penalty and take the safety and two pts to make it 20-16 and have the Steelers free kick from their

    20...or

Do you decline the penalty (forfeit the 2pts) and make the Steelers punt from deep in their endzone.

If you accepted the penalty, you get the ball deep in your territory on the free kick, still needing a TD to win.

If you decline it, you should get the ball at midfield or closer.

Both have their advantages but in either one, you still need the TD to go ahead.

If you take the safety and the 2pts, it could be argued that you set yoruself up for a tie if you score a td and give

Pitt enough time to drive for fg. If you dont take the 2pts a fg beats you.

    Interested to what people think!

  14. The more I think about the game, the more I think deferring to the second half was a mistake.

You win the coin toss, you have a passing team with a weak defense and you don't play to your strength. I don't get that. The defense did come through

I understand it's a ploy to get the defense motivated and it could have worked. But Whisenhunt put the Cardinals on their heals the whole first half by doing it.

Chris Carter made a great point. The Cards defense was on the field for 11 minutes in the first quarter and he thought they didn't have enough left at the end of the game. And I think he was right. And they got things going on offense when they went to all passing.

Why not take the ball and let Kurt Warner do his thing, get a quick score and put the Steelers on their heels.

If you are grounded in numbers, which most coaches are, you don't make the decisions the Cards made. Numbers say take the ball, score, take time off the clock and DON"T try to make it a one possession game.

The Cards are a scoring machine and you need to try to get the Steelers into a shootout. You can't play grind it out ball with the Steelers and win.

Sounds like a guy who bet the Prop bet that the Cards would get the ball first!

  15. I'm not a Matt Millen fan but I'll take the opposite angle since so many people are repulsed by MAtt Millen. The guy played and was a major part of 4 SuperBowl winning teams. For people to say he knows nothing about football is short sighted. Clearly he sucked at assembling a football team and also had some bad luck at certain positions (and picking coaches!). I don't really give a darn about listening to him or anyone on TV but he knows some football. He played for years at a high level. If he were some nerdy failed GM that never played then I would agree that he knows nothing.

uhhh, thats kind of the point. Just because you played on superbowl teams, does not mean you are qualified to run a team. Given his recent mess, who wants to hear his commentary?. If you remember correctly, he didn't dress for the Redskins SB game agst the Bills. He is a joke, ruined that Detroit franchise for a long time. He picked bad coaches and made horrible draft selections and personel moves, check it out.

  16. What a great game. Close through and through, came down to the end. I enjoyed this game more than last year's.

I'm a little gassy from all the chicken wings and Heinekens.

So here are my ten thoughts from the game:

    1. James Harrison was the DPOY and showed why. That pick-six was awesome.

    2. Coach Whisenhunt showed how to use your challenges. Watch this game tape Dick.

    3. What was with all the penalties? Some of those were questionable at best, very wishy-washy. Just let 'em play.

    4. Larry Fitzgerald set a post-season record for receiving TDs. Congrats.

    5. Santonio Holmes came of age and made a lot of great catches. Wow, what a finish. Well deserved MVP too.

    6. Coach Tomlin is the youngest HC to win the SB. Congrats.

    7. Defense wins championships.

    8. Big Ben was incredible moving around in the pocket. It's crazy to see such a big man move around like that.

    9. Blitzburgh brought the pressure and did a good job of pressuring Warner for the most part.

    10. Six Lombardi's for Pittsburgh. I just want one. Please God, just one.

Great Post, I totally agree. Please add a #11. Why in the hell would any network have Matt Millen on it as an expert??? Are you kidding me?? He totally ruined the Detroit franchise and was the principal reason they went 0-16 and set a dubious record. Unbeliveable to have him stitting next to Tony Dungee and Mike Holmgren. He disgraces them, I couldnt believe it.

  17. I have seen some mock drafts with us taking Orakpo, Brown, Pettigrew and even Oher. The latest one I saw has us taking Brian Cushing. While I really would like a DE I don't think I'd be upset with Cushing at all. He's a beast and I think with him, Poz and Mitchell we would have an exceptional LB core. Thoughts?

I like it and it makes sense. The problem with a DE is that we already haev substanital money invested in three of them on the roster. I don't like Pettigrew at that spot, Id rather take Cushing or Maleagua (sp). Raji may be worth the selection at that spot as well, but given we have Stroud who wants to re=negotiate and just signed Williams to long term contract, I highly doubt he will be picked there either. You have to tak into account the money we have locked up at the positions on the team.

  18. I completely agree that Ralph deserves to be in tge HOB due to historic role in the founding of the AFL and his willingness to risk his 10K back when this was real money for an NFL owner.

However, this deserved praise does not invalidate the fact that he has presided over a team that has gone over a decade without tasting the playoffs. It is also my opinion that this fact is in a large part based in dumb personal decisions by Ralph from him thinking Jimbo had a lot of career left when he was done as a player (I think the Bills with Ralph in charge waited at least a year too long before getting a replacement for JK and then rushed TC along.

Further, there was series of Ralph miscues from his handling and assessment of his relationship with Butler, using his "right" to dicker with is team to play a role in the promotion of Rob Johnson, authorizing a bad deal with Flutie and RJ leaving us in a fatal cap position, mismanaging his relationship with Wade, putting us into a position where we had little choice but to go with TD and then letting TD make some dumb moves along with his good ones, etc etc etc.

Praising Ralph for getting his deserved honor is a good fact. Doing this however, does not invalidate that the truth is that fish rots from the head down and a lot of the horrors of the past decade has the buck stopping with Ralph.

Reality is simply reality and even a semi-intelligent mind has to see that all these facts are real and should be acknowledged.

The only morons are those who judge he is all bad or that he is all good.
