  1. NFL, please revamp your Instant Replay Policy !!!

Overall, I get it...getting the calls right is the main objective but your current policy is killing the spirit of the game and the fan experience.

Here are my thoughts & contentions to your policy:

1- The league is being way too technical in these reviews. Trying to make a decision on a play by watching it in super slow motion is a problem, what's a catch?

2.- When reviewing a play, watch at live speed (not slow motion) and make a decision. If inconclusive after viewing the play on the tablet at live speed, then the play should stand as called on the field.

3- The instant fan interaction suffers when everyone has to lie & wait for these scoring reviews to take place...hold your  cheers, wait for it, wait for it...the league is killing the fan experience.

So NFL powers to be, please revamp your Instant Replay Policy so I can enjoy the game again...

    Signed,

    Loyal Fan :'(

...Zierlein was spot on with his projection.............

    Analysis

    Strengths

Three-year starter who has posted tremendous ball production at Duke. Plays with quality pattern recognition and jumps the route hard once he reads it. Isn't satisfied unless he is swiping at and disrupting a catch. Good leaper who times his jumps. Has had 26 passes defensed over last two seasons and 12 interceptions during his career. Plays with quality instincts inside his coverage. Has a feel for angles and uses it to undercut routes. Willing to step downhill quickly when it is time to support the run.

    Weaknesses

Gets too upright and narrow from his backpedal when asked to flip his hips in transition. Slow to mash the gas and accelerate after receivers beat him from press coverage. Allows vertical separation leading to big plays. Allowed high numbers in yardage per catch throughout his career. Missing instant twitch to match routes out of their breaks. Desire to make plays causes him to lag behind deep coverage if he sees a bait route drifting into his coverage area. Doesn't carry much force as a tackler.

    Draft Projection

    Round 7-PFA

    Bottom Line

Borders' ball production and completion percentage against over the last two seasons (38.3 percent in 2016 and 42 percent in 2015) are indicative of his instincts and ball skills. Borders chances as an NFL cornerback could be dampened by his inability to carry long speed down the field. He's a late-round pick or undrafted free agent who is best suited in off-man or zone coverage. -Lance Zierlein

That's the  defensive scheme McD and Frasier play, hopefully he is a fit for the defense.

As DD has said, billionaires don't make foolish investments.  But this one seems so, considering they are already planning their exit from The Cap.  How long will it take to earn a return on this investment?

Re-arranging the chairs on the Titanic...I would prefer Kim & Terry put that money towards  a new stadium district, ala Patriot Place, in downtown Buffalo.

I rewatched the offensive series in the Pats game.   The kid had flashes early this season, but he's really settled into that LT spot.  Did anyone notice how far downfield he was throwing his guys on some of those run plays?  That's freakish strength.

He’s come on strong the past four weeks, surrendering just nine pressures over his last four games while looking nasty in the run game. He ended the day with just one hit and two hurries allowed.   This kid is already very good, can't wait until the experience starts kicking in.

So far, Tredavious, Zay, Milano and Dawkins all look like they were good picks.

    Yes!!!! He's a beast!

I commented on the shout box that Dawkins was in beast mode on Sunday.

Now we just need a healthy Cordy Glenn and we will have the two of the three  most important pieces of a dominate offensive line.

don't you have to be on the field to be good?

    Yes.

Is he good when he plays?

Maybe McBean is playing for the long haul and letting Glen fully heal instead of rushing him back...it has always been the thought with ankle injuries that a break is better than a sprang. I'm guessing after this weeks game McBean will make the decision to IR Glen, if we lose.

I want 2 quality OTs, actually 3.  I don't understand why Glenn seems to be a target of fans, or perceived to be on the outs with the coaching staff.  His only crime has been injuries lately.  Well, I got a secret.  Olinemen get injured, and often.  They're always getting rolled up on.  it's dangerous in the scrum.  Many legs moving around and bodies falling, off balance trying to get leverage.

I hope the fact that Dawkins is playing well only leads to not rushing Glenn back from recovery too soon, and then we do have 2 quality OTs, even if one needs to move over to RT.

Some fans continue to follow the narrative of trading good players for draft picks...I follow the adage of Bill Polian back in the day,  you keep as many good players as you can...don't trade good players for maybe's. Or you will always be drafting in the top 10...

On Sunday, the Buccaneers beat the Jets, 15-10 in what could be called the White Hope QB Super Bowl.

Before Ryan Fitzpatrick and Josh McCown took the field, never before in NFL history had two quarterbacks who played for so many teams started against each other. Their combined stats are mind-boggling:

    68 Wins

    116 Losses

15 Combined teams (starting for 13)

    0 Playoff Games

No matter how much losing they did, there was always another team to give another start and another chance to make good. Before arriving to the Jets in 2015, Fitz never had a single winning year in eight seasons. McCown arrived in 2017 after going 8-30 his previous 10 years - and that doesn't include his 3-5 record with UFL's Hartford Colonels in 2010. To truly appreciate the caucasity of Sunday's face-off, you really have to view the Tale of the Tape.

The rookie LB (I forget his name) -- Matt Milano

Not a bad thought, other than Ragland.  He wasn't fast and athletic enough to be a 4-3 MLB.  Think someone like Luke Keuchly for this position.

    1. Yes, Milano is the guy, thanks.

    2. I only referenced Ragland because he was the only legitimate LB candidate that we had going into training camp, If he couldn't adjust let the season reveal the fact but give him a shot, imo. I'm pretty sure he could not do any worse than the current crop...Humber tries hard but does not have the ability at weakside, same for Alexander on the strong side.

    1) What a rude welcome to the NFL for Nate Peterman. He was clearly not ready but it wasn't all his fault. He got little help from the rest of the offense. Two of his INT's resulted from being hit as he threw, and the pick 6 was because the ball bounced off the receiver's hands. The other's were on him (learning experience). He'll be ok. It was worth a try but boy did that decision to toss him in the fire ever blow up in McDermott's face big time

    2) You think TT knew something we didn't? He had his helmet on at the start of the game like he knew he was going to be back on the field. He's our best option at QB, Deal with it haters, and learn to appreciate him. I think this experience will help him going forward. Accuracy is still an issue but we've seen the alternative.

    3) What happened to the defense? From top 5 to a dumpster fire at a train wreck in 3 weeks, each beating worse than the last one. and once again, the 3rd RB broke a TD run on them. So much for bend but don't break. They got bent over and broken in royally. He needs faster Linebackers for his defense, and those zones have too many open holes for QB's to take advantage of - especially with very little or no pass rush. Thy gave up 50 to a team with a losing record, and it could have easily been 60.

    4) Cadet looks more useful in the backfield than Tolbert. This guy needs more time backing up Shady

    5) How could what was once a good offensive line that paved the way for the #1 rushing offense two years in a row decline so fast? Is it age or coaching?

    6) Speaking of Coaching, they don't get a pass on this. 3 straight :censored:whippings, each one worse than the last ? outscored 101--34 over the last 3 games?

Both coordinators belong on the hot seat right now

    7) Next up are the Chiefs and Patriots. This could get uglier before it gets better.

Come guys, get it together quickly!!!!
    GO BILLS!!!

The defense has declined due to depleted talent and players not in the proper roles,IMO.

1)This in a sense is the same scheme as what J. Schwartz did a few years ago...Preston Brown should be playing Will not middle, The rookie LB (I forget his name) should be playing OLB (Alexanders current role) and Humber should be special teams only...we need a  play making MLB maybe they should have let Ragland sink or swim to see if he could adjust.

    2) KW and A. Washington are more one gap penetrators that need a two gap partner to eat up the power blocks, so they can work one on one. Trading Dareus without his replacement or a player with his skill set in the line-up was arrogant. KW & AW have been getting blown off the ball because they are not good at holding up the gap...add that with Brown now being occupied by opposing OL leaves a lane for runners to exploit. Our best case would be to have a playmaking WLB, which Humber is NOT!  He is being mis-cased as a starting LB, he tries but he should only see special teams duties, if at all.

    3) Teams have the film and see these deficiencies in the pass & run defense...SD specifically exposed the slow LB's in coverage, I would put Alexander & Humber on bench. I would use Alexander as an upfield rusher on passing down only to help pressure . IDK, who could fill the MLB position but they need to let Brown play the weakside...I hope McD & Frasier make these adjustment asap to stop the bleeding.

I'd much rather have that 10 mil. to try and sign someone in FA. Taylor will never lead a team to the playoffs, I'd rather have Peterman and a rookie QB over Taylor.

We don't  know what we have in Peterman yet, to even know if he's starter potential ...

Hoping for the best but  I'll wait and see before crowning him over a QB (limited as he is in this offense) with a career winning record for this organization.

  11. 21 minutes ago, Buffalo30 said:

That is a valid comparison at this point I think.  Peterman was a guy that was projected to go in round 2-3 and ended up dropping.  I think Finley is a similar player but if he nails the process leading up to the draft, you could see him being picked much higher than expected

I think the scouts have a good assessment of Finley...good but not great potential, with a good supporting cast  ala Prescott,Dalton &Flacco.

I see his ceiling as mid to late 1st rd (20-32) or early 2nd but he could drop a round or two after the nitpicking season.

Ryan Finley is flying up boards

I am a fan of Finley as well...

What's concerning about this crop of QB's, for the offense RD runs, many (outside of Rosen & Darnold) are not taking the snap from under the center.

So my question, what's the learning curve for them or does RD start to change the design of the offense to the talent at hand?

  13. Sal needs to realize that just because we have 5 tackles on the roster, it doesn't give us leverage. He even mentions that Henderson and Mills have little or no trade value. Trading Glenn would pretty much kill any chance of competing for a playoff spot this season. Dawkins isn't ready to take his spot.

    I totally agree with you.

Unless it's a kings ransom, makes no sense at all to trade Glenn.

Another plan could be to evaluate the assortment of Mills/Dawkins/Henderson/ McDermott at RT, trade the loser of the competition.

  14. If true more dysfunction for a dysfunctional organization. Let the rookie coach hire the GM

    +1

The local media has continued to drive the narrative (due to being shunned by the FO, imo) to incite "some" fans to want blood and someone has to pay...but change for the sake of the masses only exacerbates the dysfunction!

McD is the shiny new toy with all the fan filled excitement, how long will it last? I'll try to enjoy it...It won't be long before he is perceived as the egotistical forced that can't work with anyone and becomes the next man up for the slaughter! #groundhogday :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

.......interesting when Overdorf is the lead dawg......but then again, the "Fire Whaley Gang" salivates at every opportunity......you know about the neglected broken urinal in 313, right??.........

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Jim Overdorf was promoted to Buffalo Bills senior vice president of football administration, giving him control over contract negotiations and salary cap decisions.

Don't let facts spoil things, smh!

It is like some fans live in a vacuum and make stuff up...according to creator of Spotrac, the Bills have done a pretty good job with the cap.

  16. ME: Perry Tuttle

    YOU: Who?

    ME: Exactly

Two seasons in Buffalo, 16 games (4 games started) 24 receptions, 368 yards, 3 TDs

    Beyond Buffalo-

Tampa Bay --- 3 games (0 games started) 0 receptions

    Atlanta --------- 5 games (0 games started) 1 reception, 7 yards

End of career. Worst 1st round pick ever.

What made the Tuttle pick even worse was that the Bills traded up to get him because they didn't want the consolation prize...WR Mike Quick!

Mike Quick was drafted by Philly with the next pick and had a pretty good career, making their Hall of Fame, smh!

  17. If the two safeties, Lattimore or Foster are gone off the board, I think the Bills will trade back to the late teens, gaining an additional 3rd or 4th rd pick.

With the 19th pick in the 2017 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select- WR John Ross, UW.

    J. Ross is a Lee Evans/ DeSean Jackson clone and will help TT open up the down field passing game...IMO. Ross and Sammy are a lethal 1-2 combo, making an offensive attack of traditional play-action out of the stretch running game (opening up much room for Shady to roam..) very hard to defend. Git Ur Done, DW!

  18. If were being honest here. Outside of maybe 1 or 2 good FA pickups his drafts and personnel decisions have been below average. I see people every day claiming how he is one of the "best GM's in football". What a load of crap. What exactly has this guy done to get that title?

Idc what you say, he drafted EJ. Picking a 1st round QB in possibly the worst QB class in the last 15 years was awful decision making. He then supported EJ and tried to get him weapons, that ended up failing big time. Watkins has been an injury prone nightmare. His 2016 draft has already had 2 guys out for the year and 1 guy who will miss half. Karlos williams was a disaster. Darby has prob been his best pick but he has only had 1 good season.

Our WR depth and oline depth is a complete joke, he has done NOTHING to address this so far. Sammy went into training camp injured and we still didn't pick anyone up. Clay has been a waste of money, and McCoy is aging fast.

Whaley is not the guy that should be staying with this team for the future. We are 1-2 soon to be 1-3 and does anyone really see this team making the playoffs this year? What do we even have to look forward to? Does anyone trust this guy picking another QB in the draft? B/c I don't.

Even before Rex, Whaley should be gone. New GM can find his own staff and scouts.

    HILARIOUS!!!

Never let facts get in the way of your argument, eerrr, opinion...Not pandemonium but fandemonium!

  19.

So now the backup can't be exposed? He needs the reps.

This kid is going to play the whole game? He's going to walk in knowing nothing and play and that is going to help the coaching staff decide who on the offense should be cut?

I agree. C. Jones in all intent & purpose will be inactive for the next 17 wks...he needs to have live game action for his development, IMO.

He can rest his shoulder and arm while running the scout team during the regular season.
