I have never had it within me to root for any other AFC team than the Bills. I've never been a big fan of the Spanos family, but I'm suffering from Bills fatigue. This is from a guy who went to my first game at the Rockpile waaaay back when with my dad.

Here's a nice article on the new Chargers GM, Tom Telesco who was raised in the Village of Hamburg. The dudes fives years younger than me and while I never knew him, it's kind of cool that he and I grew up 1/2 mile from each other. I've been in SD since 1987 and have never been able to bring myself to root for the Chargers, but that may change now. I sincerely hope he does well.

Bart Scott, Calvin Pace and David Harris...Which one do you think ends up with the Bills next year? There's no way they sign all three. I'd be glad to see us pick up Scott.

While it certainly isn't as good as slicing roasts, we normally grind venison and mix it with a cure you can get from Cabelas or Bass Pro. My buddy has this caulking gun looking "Jerkey Shooter" also from Cabelas and we run strips on his dehydrator. A few hours later, we've got jerky. It is similar to the Lawry's product you can buy at the store.
Another way I make jerky using chunks of venison is to simply use a filet knife and cut a roast into thin chunks or strips. I place them in a bowl with teriyaki and let it marinate in the fridga overnight. I'll then place the strips on foil lined cookie sheet, place my oven on warm and put them in. I leave the over slightly open to vent out the moisture and every 30 minutes or so i'll flip the strips over as the moisture will tend to gather down below. It's not high speed, but it works! Good luck w/ whatever you choose!

Magox nailed it. I live in coastal San Diego and home prices are flat to rising slightly. However all you have to do is look just a bit inland to see the shadow inventory sitting idle. My neighbor brought me to a nice home in his sisted neighborhood that has been slated to go up for auction. We got in (the doors weren't locked) and looked around. Beautiful place! He was interested in getting a good deal. The problem is that this house has been slated and rescheduled for auction for almost a year now. That is just one small example.
The Inland Empire is a wasteland and isn't coming back any time soon. From what I understand, there are neighborhoods with 30-40% vacancy and no sense of urgency from the banks to move them.
One of the major issue standing in the way of a recovery is the total destruction of credit ratings for all those american's who have foreclosed on a home. Lending standards today are so tough that most of those people are out of the market for years to come. Because of the foreclosure, they will have to rebuild their credit ratings IOT qualify for any loan. Then there's the issue of a down paymnet, and oh, yea...having a job. This cycle is going to last awhile. There simply is no quick fix here.

Thanks for starting this thread. It got me to thinking and after reading KD's post about rate reductions, I called my current lender (Citi) and asked them about it. They said only if I lost my job! WTF? After telling the guy that wasn't the case I had him quote me on a refi. The idiot quoted me a 15 yr fixed at 4.1%! I had another window open displaying cirrent rates and told the dude to pound sand. I hate Citi! BTW, I have a great FICO (780ish), so that wasn't the reason.
Then I checked my credit union and got a 15 yr fixed @ 3.65% w/ no points. Now I will have to pay a few closing costs, but I managed to shave 1.1% of my existing.
BTW, what state are you in? I no closing cost deal is pretty awesome.

Here's a question that I've pondered, if it's not ok to have any images of the prophet, why is it ok to name your offspring after the prophet? After all, many guys named Mohammed have done far worse things than a teddy bear picture.
That's Awesome! I didn't even know there was a draw mohammed day. Now I'll have to break out my pencil and get to work. Shoot, maybe we'll make this a family event. LOL!

It's just sad that these guys hate themselves so much and are so afraid of people figuring out they're gay that they have to be vehemently anti-gay. The fact that this guy went on a trip with a boy toy to give him daily massages is proof, IMO, that homosexuality is not a choice. If anyone in the world didn't want to be gay it's this guy. JMO

I am a huge believer in the Military Justice System as being fair and effective. I was a panel member on two general and two special court martials and know the workings of the system well. While I understand the the accused sailors refused NJP, I still don't think they should've been court martialed for this allegation. I've seen numerous cases where a Marine or Sailor refused NJP and the case was dropped for lack of evidence prior to proceeding to a full court. I feel that this should've been the case here. These men should not have had to go through the process based on the evidence that has been made public, and the results seem to bear out that there was not much more than what has been released.

You state "libs" as in meaning those (If I'm considered to be one, I accept willing) who find the Arizona law unconstitutional, fine. Yet I don't find immigration laws currently on the books being upheld or enforced so I don't have any problem with Arizona making an effort on their own. But please, this illegal immigration problem is not a "liberal" creation anymore than it's a neocon one. GOP likes the cheap labor (GWB, ...Hey, where's the workers?" Do you recall that beauty?) and the Democrats pursue their support. Both parties bear the blame on this one....
So what is a "neocon"? Do you understand what one is or are you parroting a term you've heard? Enlighten us please...
