  1. I could probably take to googles for this, but I don't know if my language is precise enough.

I want to set up some conditional formulas in excel that relate column to column so that:

    IF column a = THEN column b =

Is this possible text to number, and can it be done visa versa?

    Here's the application:

For billing, we have client codes and client abbreviations for our time sheets, each in their own side-by-side columns. Rather consult ye-olde code guide very Friday while I'm finalizing my sheet, I'd love to be able to type in the code and have the abbreviation populate or visa versa.

    Possible?

Sounds like you could use the vlookup function. This function would search a specified table for a specified value and return data from another column. You would just need to copy the mapping (client code to abbreviation and vice versa) to another sheet in the workbook, or I think you can actually look up data in another workbook.

  2. Some of you people actually liked the season finale of Walking Dead? This was by far one of the weakest episode of the show. The whole deal with Carl was cool and the whole Andrea dying off was nuts, but seriously. WTF is up with Darryl? An episode before he lost his brother and had to stab it in the head and looked distraught. I thought he'd be a tad more upset than he was in the last episode. Seriously though. The governor and Rick never even saw each other in the season finale? That was LAAAAAMEEEEE. All that build up and all that talk, and they didn't even shoot one bullet at each other. Talk about weak. Lastly, no cliffhangers? The season 2 finale was AMAZING. This one leaves me not caring about Season 4. I love this show but they dropped the ball with this season finale.

I kind of have to agree. I was about 5 episodes behind, so within the last 3 days I finished season 3. All that build up with no resolution. So now they have the core group and a bunch of kids and old people to care for.

  3. At the Leafs game last night. Might have been the best home game all year. Fall behind 2, come back and win with a shoot-out, and best of all quiet the HUGE Leafs crowd. Easy 10K+ were from Toronto

Or as the Leafs guy next to me said: "Bad enough my Leafs loose to the Sabres, then you stick me with your crappy football team?!?!?" :D

I've only been to a couple sabres games over the last few years, but Thursday against the Leafs was a blast. Never heard it so loud in there. Steve Ott is awesome.

  4. Sorry to resurrect this thread, as abysmal as the Sabres have been. I can't believe the reffing tonight nor the announcers. Ennis got murdered on a hit and no call, but yeah he turned into that one? Also a missed high stick with blood.

If your job is to announce hockey maybe learn the players and their names. Didn't know we had a player named Heckt.

  5.

This is key....and where they are missing Paul Gaustad. I know it has been pointed out before...but their inability to win face-offs leaves them in the vulnerable position of having to chase after the puck most of the time...when you are always chasing, it is quite a bit more difficult to dictate play. I think the Sabres played about as well as they can today....the Pens are just that much better...the speed and intensity of this game was through the roof, particularly for an early regular season game. If you didn't see the logo on the ice, I would have sworn this game was in Pittsburgh, with the crowd reaction.

On the final penguins goal I said to my wife no way there are that many pens fans in the arena. The eruption from that goal only twisted the knife more.

  6.

Another disappointment but could have mailed it

    in and lost 4-0.

All in all a good game to watch. Sabres played with some intensity and made it competitive. As usual inability to clear the puck and horrible turnovers in our own end spell defeat. Closer then I expected.

  7. Is it the ruff system or the players. I think its time to move on #22. Its no fun being a sabres fan with him

Something isn't right and I don't think it is all on the players. We struggle to get out of our own end, we struggle to keep the puck in the offensive zone.

How about Vanek though, he is fun to watch?

    21 points 10 goals 11 assists

  8. Guess no one's watching hockey except me, but fwiw Canada lost the bronze medal game 6-5 to Russia and it is the first time in 14 years they didn't medal. I work in Canada and the Canadians are in a national state of mourning, sort of like Buffalo after the SB losses.

With no NHL I took the opportunity to record all the Juniors games. Enjoyed watching team USA trounce Canada and then win the Gold over Sweden. Enjoyed watching McCabe, seems like a solid player. Anyone draft the USA goalie Gibson, he looked pretty impressive?

  9. If a guy like Wiz is offered the Bills job and wants the Bills to wait while he "pursues other options", that would make me sick and would be a complete embarassment to the franchise. I would hope that the Bills would immediate tell him where to go and then move on to the next candidate.

That absolutely scares me as Whisenhunt is probably the worst choice out of the lot. That would be a clear indicator that nothing has changed at OBD with Ralph supposedly stepping aside.

  10. Was just replying- that was specifically to him running a power I, which would be new to him, is a risk even if willing to try it.

I also think he'd need some adjusting for the nfl. Not as much as most, but likely some tweaks at the very least.

Certainly, he will need time for adjusting to the NFL game. It would or will be interesting to see how he does however this plays out.

  11. Any team that hires Chip Kelly does so on the hope that he is smart enough to design a totally new offense that would work against NFL defenses. Because what he is doing at Oregon would not work. So basically you are rolling the dice. Could pay off big, or could go broke.

    PTR

During a film break down with Kelly and Urban Meyer, he (Kelly) stated that if he had the personnel to run a power I offense that is what he would do. So it sounds like he builds his offense around his talent, not trying to force it into a specific scheme.

  12. I hear ya that they are harder to find but when I was looking, I was able to find all of those cars that I listed, which was my general search. The farthest I had to drive to see one was Rochester for the G37S. Which I would have bought right in the spot, but the dealership refused to negotiate on a used vehicle. I had $10k cash with me fully intending to buy the car and drive it home and they refused. So on my way home, I called the MB dealership to let them know I was coming in for the C230.

Oh yeah, forgot to add the one sport sedan that got me started in the kick in the first place.

06-07 Mazda SPEED6. 276HP stock. Only made in manual transmission. One of the most fun cars I've ever driven.

I had a 2008 Mazda SPEED3, and it was an absolute blast to drive. It had 263hp stock, and I could still pull down 30mpg on the highway. I really regret trading it in. My wife could not drive stick and I really did not want to teach her on that car for both the cars and her sake. Her car is a 2003 Jeep Liberty and it is the most uncomfortable ride, so we always took my car on trips, so she couldn't help drive.

Totally my decision, but I traded it in for a 2011 CX7, which has the exact same turbo engine. Still a very nice car, but just not the same. Certainly don't feel the turbo pull like I used to, and the gas mileage is no where near as good.

  13. "He (Wilson) was on our radar, but we felt like we had to have a speed receiver. They took him in the 3rd. That was a little high for us as far as our needs"

I believe Nix said the biggest factor was Wilson's height. This year has really depressed me watching Kaepernick, and the slew of other 1 or 2 year QBs being very successful.
