  1. Brown, Beasley and Foster are stone cold 100% locks to make the roster.  So probably is Roberts.  Zay Jones is NOT, although I think not drafting a receiver was kind of an endorsement of him.  Assuming he does make it, there will be either one or two spots (likely one) and the two favorites are Sills and Duke Williams.  I would put my money on David Sills to make the roster.  Would not be shocked if both made it somehow.  McKenzie is expendable.  No one realizes the extent to which he had an insane fumbling problem in Denver.  I get that he's fast but he's nothing special.  They have plenty of speed now.

    Brown: 100%

    Beasley: 100%

    Foster: 100%

    Roberts: 95%

    Jones: 75%

    Sills: 40%

    Williams: 30%

    McKenzie: 20%

Plenty of YouTubers do the news much better these days anyways, timcast is a good one.

Nice, I'll check it out!  Have you heard of Alex Jones?  He's a good one too- no FAKE NEWS there.  They banned him from youtube though because the deep state was fearful that people would find out the truth.

  3. Dude!  Another thread bashing WGR?!?  Awesome!!

Right, and come to find out cable news really is fake news after all, talk about a waste of time.

Tell me about it.  Had to tune out all the FAKE NEWS mainstream media myself.  Now I just get all the FACTS from #MAGA Twitter, Q Anon, Jacob Wohl, Hannity and Trump himself.

Agreed...close it.  Dareus deserves a mention, though.

100 out of 100 GM's would've taken Dareus there.  He was a monster prospect.  In fact, I'd venture to guess that 70 out of 100 GM's would've taken Dareus over Miller at 2.  You have to go by how much sense the pick made at the time.  For instance, Ryan Leaf was a great pick by the Chargers.  So was Mike Williams (our Mike Williams).

I guess it all depends on where you think EJ would have realistically gotten taken if not for us.  If that's the second then maybe, but if it's the third you're just screwing yourself twice, and if its the 4th . . . then the description might offend my delicate sensibilities.

IIRC the compensation made it seem like we initiated the trade.

That draft is such an outlier because it was so bad.  A guy projected to be a decent RT went first overall.  I refuse to hold it against the Bills for taking a swing there.

  5. Watkins was as can't miss a prospect as you will ever see.  Especially after seeing the Juilo Jones trade up work out the way it did, it made some sense at the time.

Manuel was a perfectly fine pick at the time.  That was the worst draft ever (literally, not hyperbole).  They needed a QB.  You tell me who else they should've taken there.  Plus they traded back to get him and picked up another second rounder in the process.  And I nearly got run off this website for being so adamantly anti-EJ Manuel.

Maybin was bad but not absurd.  They should've taken Orakpo but whatever.  He was gonna go in the next couple picks regardless.

    There are two answers:

Torell Troup over Gronkowski and TJ Graham over Russell Wilson.  Both were instances where guys at positions of need who should've been drafted way earlier, magically fell right into our lap and we instead took guys who should've gone multiple rounds later.  They were both completely INSANE draft picks at the time and, suffice it to say, look even worse now.

Now you may close the thread.

    Agreed with Gary.

If we trade up for him, I hope that you’re right.  Never know in today’s world.  It’s a different generation and these kids think much differently.

You think it's possible that this kid would listen to a vastly underachieving druggie, who last played at Alabama in 2010, speak ill of the Bills organization, which would have a negative impact on his play as a pro in the year 2019?  Did you ever think he might instead talk to, I don't know, Robert Foster and Levi Wallace- GUYS HE PLAYED WITH A YEAR AGO?!?!?

  7. I will be happy if they trade up, trade down or stay at 9, as long as they don't take Rashan Gary.

He’s the #1 guy on my board, so I’d actually be ok with this based on talent and fit.  My only fear would be his Alabama connections with Marcel.  I’m quite sure Marcel would have nothing but negativity to say about our team.  Could that affect Quinnens play and resigning him going forward?  Kind of silly, but in today world, it’s something to think about....especially when giving up a future 1st

This is not even close to how it works.

$120 million. It was a 1/5 of KC's cost and originally back when the lease/reno was discussed the goal was to do a Chiefs reno but at the time without ownership certainty with the NFL pushing for a new stadium a band aid was used not the full surgery which truthfully should've been done. Had the Pegula's owned the team before the most recent renovation I think the Bills would've done a full reno and that would be that.

The Chiefs have been a far more consistent winning product so that certainly helps. But yes the NFL likes having stadiums to show off and open larger revenue streams. Sal C of WGR 550 has said how much of a pain the Bills stadium is to setup for night time home games because of how old the infrastructure is. That in itself makes it a hard sell for a team that has been irrelevant for 20 years. Additionally at least with Ralph/Russ Brandon at the end the Bills asked for 1pm games and tried avoiding night games because of their fanbase that drives in. I believe the Pegula's have pivoted from that and the fact the last two night games have went on without any issue that helps to make night games not as scary. That Dolphins TNF in 2013 was a mess like 3 people died etc..

I don't disagree with much here but the dude who died after the Bills game because he got bombed and fell in a creek has absolutely nothing to do with how fancy our stadium is.  I can assure you that if Josh Allen turns into Mahomes and the Bills go 12-4 this year and make noise in the playoffs, that the NFL will be thrilled to give the Bills plenty of prime time games going forward.  Everyone agrees that the NFL is better when rust belt teams with dedicated, long-suffering fanbases are competitive.  Just look at the Browns.  It's way more interesting that the Browns have this buzz surrounding them than it would be if, say, the Cowboys did.  And I can assure you it has absolutely nothing to do with their stadium.

It's completely renovated and cost over half a billion dollars

How much did our renovation cost?  And are you suggesting that if not for the renovation, the Chiefs might not be as appealing a prime time attraction?

The schedule is out if you haven’t seen this is it:

    Wk 1 at NYJ

    Wk 2 at NYG

    Wk 3 Cincy home opener

    Wk 4 NE

    Wk 5 at TEN

    Wk 6 BYE

    Wk 7 Miami

    Wk 8 Philly

    Wk 9 WSH

    Wk 10 at CLE

    Wk 11 at MIA

    Wk 12 DEN

Wk 13 at DAL Thanksgiving Day

    Wk 14 BAL

    Wk 15 at PIT

Wk 16 at NE possible Saturday game

    Wk 17 NYJ

    The Good:

The Bills get an awesome 5 games in their first 8 games. Other then NE and PHI it sets up 6 very winnable games and the opportunity for the Bills to stack a lot of wins. While opening on the road two straight weeks is not preferable, opponent wise they should be able to get at least 1 win as they build forward. There is no killer road portion like we have seen before which is nice. And of course the Bills for the first time since 1994 are playing in Thanksgiving which for many fans like myself is the first time I’ll ever get to see them on the big day. 6 home games before Thanksgiving is a godsend for season ticket holders who were stuck with some crappy non impact December games the last few years.

    The Bad:

Opening two straight on the road is still tough regardless of opponent. If you lose both your starring at an 0-2 hole before your first home game which is not fun. The last 5 games present some truly stiff tests and will be a major make it or break part for their playoff hopes with four AFC games against playoff aspiring teams/NE.

The Ugly: The Bills are irrelevant nationally. Yea they got the Thanksgiving game and yes there is a small shot they get the Saturday game at night vs NE but the other 14 games are all 1pm. I know some people love 1pm games but all that confirms is that nationally this team has no one of attention drawing and no one thinks the Bills matter in the landscape of competition. If they did you would see some 4  pm games and another night game. When the Giants and Redskins get more night games and even Miami has the same number it confirms you a nobody league wide. The only time recently the Bills truly has some national exposure with the Rex disaster. Other then the Bills winning the division this is just another sign by the NFL that the Bills need a new stadium if they want any attention and we really not matter in the general landscape.

Yeah if only the Chiefs got a new stadium, they too could get some national attention.

Wait, you're not blaming OJ for not winning the title with those Bills teams, are you?   They were an abysmal team when he arrived and he single-handedly took them to the playoffs for the first time since the franchise joined the NFL.  In his first two years with the Bills, OJ was coached by an idiot named Johnny Rauch, who was too stupid to simply hand the ball off to the best collegiate running back of all-time, whom the team had selected with the first overall pick in the draft.  In his third season in the NFL, OJ was coached by the immortal Harvey Johnson...

Dude, everything you just said about OJ you can apply to Sanders as well. The ‘they didn’t win anything/they had no supporting casts’ arguments apply equally to both players.

  12. 8 hours ago, mannc said:

I’m absolutely amazed that on a Bills board, OJ Simpson is left off anyone’s list.  In his prime, which admittedly was too short, there was never anyone better, before or since.  (OK, I never saw Jim Brown play.). OJ had it all—sprinter’s speed on a 215 pound frame, incredible balance and vision, and he was an excellent receiver, too.  He made it all look effortless.  It’s too bad his first three years in Buffalo were wasted playing for coaches who were too stupid to know what they had.

Next to OJ, Barry Sanders was just a gadget back—fun to watch, but that’s it.  And of course he never won squat.

Fine, add OJ to the list.  You still can’t say he was definitively the best.  And also, what did he win?  At least Sanders made it to an NFC Championship game.

  13. There is no definitive greatest all time running back the way Brady and Rice are the definitive greatest all time quarterback and receiver, respectively.  That is the answer.

You could make a strong case for Brown, Payton or Sanders and not be right or wrong.
