  1. That powerful O line has two major holes in it at the OG position. Which BTW the way is usually an indicating factor on how well the team can run block, and they couldn't get any push from them at all. 15 RB rushes all game...really? Third down and one, and Hackett calls for a Spiller run play up the middle. CJ was swarmed behind the line of scrimmage before he could even get started. Bad play call in a bad scheme, and bad players who can't execute a simple run play. We have seen this before, year after year. QB's that never realize any kind of potential because they continuously get beaten down. Elite RB's utilized in the wrong way. Marshawn Lynch can't get yardage...unless he is dragging three defenders on his back. So trade a 1st round pick for a 4th, and that team gets help to the SB with outstanding RB play. Both Spiller, and Fred are elite players on teams where the coaching staffs have no clue how to get the most out of them. Gailey at least had a clue, and simply chose to have Fitz throw it more.
  2. Mostly the fact that EJ made 39 pass attempts, and the RB's only rushed 15 times. Spiller had 10 rushes, Jackson had 6, and although EJ threw it Sammy's way 8 times, he only caught 2. For the love of god don't make the 2nd year QB throw it 39 times because the Bills get down by 7 points. The ball needs to be in Fred, CJ & Sammy's hands. Then the defense, no blitzing until the 4th quarter from what I saw. Did Schwartz suddenly morph into Dave Wannstedt? My least favorite play of the game was on 3rd down, and one. Hackett calls for a Spiller run up the middle.
  3. EJ needs help progressing for certain, and I just don't see how only 15 touches for the RB's vs 40 passes for that young QB helps anything. Its like Hackett went into panic mode as soon as the Bills were down by 7. In regards to the bolded. Fredex led the team in catches (8), receiving yards (78), and scored the only TD. He also had only 6 rushes for 34 yards. Spiller had only 10 rushes. The play makers NEED to see the ball more often, Spiller, Jackson, Watkins. So much for leading the NFL in rushing attempts this year.... Last year the Bills outright cut their starting LG, and his backup by week six. Is it to early in the season to want to see both OG's cut (Williams & Pears), and OC Nate Hackett replaced by Jim Hostler? I know "I" might sound crazy, yet I find myself yearning for Richie Incognito...
  4. and you have to think, is this entirely all on EJ? Or is it a weak coaching staff, young receivers that are not in sync with the QB, and exactly why is that? I would love to see EJ sling it around like those two. He needs proper protection early on to gain the confidence to attempt those throws. He didn't have that from what I saw. Phillip Rivers showed what it was like to play behind a bad O line in 2012, as he was under constant duress that year, and was constantly making mistakes game after game. We all saw him today behind a vastly improved O line that didn't get penalty's on every big play like Buffalo seemed to do. While they really didn't open holes for the 3rd string RB. They did give more then adequate pass protection all game long. Plus, he has a good experienced receiver corps that ran the proper routes, and caught everything that came their way. Better coaching, better players surrounding Rivers really helped him.
  5. I must have been watching a completely different game because what I saw was the Chargers rushing mostly their front four, and not blitzing much at all. So, it was more like our five O linemen, a RB, and a TE couldn't hold off four Chargers long enough to give the QB time to throw. Plus, the run game went nowhere, OG's were so bad they rarely got any push, and almost no holes. The O line easily looked as bad as they did last year at Pittsburgh, at Tampa Bay, at the NY Jets. I still can't figure out why the Bills OC can't stop sending an elite off tackle RB up the middle to get swarmed behind the line of scrimmage. Then, where was the innovation in getting the ball into Sammy's hands all game, end arounds, bubble screens, quick outs, slants, something, anything. ....mostly nothing. Well 8 targets, and 2 passes caught doesn't really say how inaccurate the QB was, or how much pressure he was under. Buffalo, 22 total rushes all game, and the QB had 5 of those. Meanwhile the QB has 40 passing attempts. 10 rushing touches for Spiller isn't enough to get any kind of rhythm going. Out coached & outplayed, save Fredex
  6. If EJ can gain playing experience thru osmosis if Orton is starting...then sure. If not, then EJ needs all the playing experience he can get. At some point this season it would be nice to see EJ actually in sync with his receiving corps. The Bills NEED to find out this year if EJ will get things working or not.
  7. What was obvious to me was the play of the Bills O line vs the Chargers O line. The Chargers have a solid line, and should be in the playoffs again this year The Chargers run, run, and Rivers finds a way to move the chains on third down. Run, run, and Rivers finds a way to move the chains on 3rd down, over, and over, and over until they score. Buffalo run, run, EJ hurried. Hackett calls a bad play, and its on to a punt. EJ is no where near as good as Rivers, and he needs his run game to make first downs.
  8. It was an entire team loss....err except for Fredex the only things that really concern me is the bad play of the current OG's, and why the QB is not more in sync with his receivers. plus, some of the play calls were ridiculously bad. Like the 3rd and one to Spiller up the middle. Exactly how many times does Hackett need to run Spiller up the middle before he realizes its not going to work.
  9. Oh yea, that third and one play up the middle with Spiller was downright brilliant
  10. really, what game were you watching? I saw Pears getting blown up on a regular basis, and even Glenn got knocked back into EJ on one play. The Chargers had EJ under pressure quite a bit for only rushing four almost all game. EJ stunk it up, and so did the line, the play calling, the defensive play calling. all the penalties Fredex showed up, not sure about the rest
  11. You were saying? **I'm not making a new post to feed this troll. Its fans like you (OP) that degrade other Bills fans over nothing speaks volumes about the karma for this team.** I've known college graduates to superstitiously not shave themselves for weeks, not change their smelly socks, clothes, special undershirt because they won a game, and didn't want to jinx it for the next game. Fans do crazy stuff all the time thinking that they have some special influence on the outcome of the game. But just keep calling other Bills fans names, if that works for you.
  12. can we cut Hackett by week six this year?
  13. Yea, there is Hackett on third and one...Spiller getting swarmed.
  14. where has that play been all game
  15. finally Buffalo D bring the heat...would have been nice to have started the game this way
  16. gotta get Sammy more involed
  17. the D heldem, good stuff!
  18. C'mon D, get the ball back!
  19. Guys, this is what happens when your team can't run the ball, and control the clock. the defense is out on the field all day getting shredded because they are tired.
  20. run, run, run, run, and then find the TE wide open down field.. killing us.
  21. That's what Rivers does, he finds the guy on 3rd down that can get the first down. Its why they lead the NFL in time of possession.
  22. wow, lots of holding by that chargers O line, and no flags
