  1. Gotta get that defensive TO in there, good job coach
  2. 11 penalties in one half. Jesus.
  3. Now the stripes are just making ***** up.
  4. Trying to set a record for most penalties in a preseason game, I see
  5. Get them all out of there before someone does something stupid and gets hurt. And by someone I mean Josh.
  6. Seen that movie enough times
  7. Tua's first pass today
  8. With one modification... the fifth leg should be dragging along the ground. With a miniature Christian Wilkins holding on for dear life.
  9. Sure, but there's also something called the Players' Association that would scream bloody murder if players started taking discounts like that. It's one thing for a fading player at the end of his career or someone coming off a debilitating injury to take less money to sign with a winner; it's another for someone to do it who is arguably still in his prime years and hasn't blown out both knees or something like that. You'd better believe the NFLPA pressures its players to get the best deals they can. Unlike with management collusion, that's not an unfair labor practice. And it's also why you never see players grumbling about other guys holding out. They know a rising tide lifts all boats.
  10. Yep, I remember same.... Fairport in '87, Gates-Chili in '88. (I went to Penfield, graduated '87.) Part of their "regionalization" strategy that became needless after they moved to Fisher. Easy in and out, easy access to players. These were actually post-draft minicamps if I remember right (not during training camp), and soon after that (i.e., when they got good and a high school could no longer accommodate the crowd) they decided to hold public minicamp practices only at the Ralph. That was fun but you were separated from the players and autographs, if you're into that kind of thing, were difficult. In '88 I got to chat a bit with Dean Cain, who was in camp as a UDFA. He was a senior and I was a freshman at the same college (we were on break before finals). I think he was one of the replacement players that fall before hurting his knee and moving on to Hollywood. I do remember at one of them, Jim Kelly signed my placard and his signature was HUGE. I moved over to the defensive side and Fred Smerlas took a look and said, "Hey Bruce. Look at this," pointing at Kelly's signature. Bruce looked at it, rolled his eyes, and said, "The whole page, huh?" 🤣
  11. That's insane. Edit: I guess they're trying to squelch the secondary market from non-Bills fans who are just in this to make a quick buck, but why would they let season holders scalp at will?
  12. There were still some left for a couple of days when I checked again a couple minutes ago. I got in at 1:01 and started joining queues left and right... ended up getting two each for the 27th, 3rd, and 9th (all weekdays) but the 26th (first day) sold out by the time my number came up. I may decide not to use a couple of days because, frankly, football practice is stultifyingly boring, don't @ me. We haven't gone in years even though we live a couple blocks from Fisher ... it was easy back when there were still two-a-days and you could drop in whenever you felt like it. Now you have to plan ahead more than a month and get more days than you want in case you need some flexibility due to work, etc. At least I wasn't bogarting six tickets per practice... just needed two each for me and my son. Oh, and if anyone is planning to sell tickets that they got for free... you need to do some serious life evaluation. A few bucks for the "effort," sure, maybe, but anything more is just wrong.
  13. The proper phonetic spelling is BEOWS. As in Buffwo Beows. We used to get that guy every week, it seemed.
  14. Literally exactly what I used to say about Bruce Smith and his offseason antics. Some people are so good that you just live with the rest of it.
  15. Pretty much all of them, in fact, and yet here we all are.
  16. The catch call and the spot were both ridiculous, but the DPI call right afterward was even worse. Don't forget that this was happening at around the same time as Home Run Throw Forward and No Goal.
  17. And I wouldn't close the door on Hopkins just yet. He wants an OBJ-type deal, but most of the teams with the cap space to give it to him aren't necessarily teams that want to blow most of it on a WR who's on the wrong side of 30, has been injured of late, and was suspended recently for PEDs. Given that he is currently without a contract, unless one of those cap-flush teams ends up signing him, his price is going to start coming down.... way down... perhaps to the point where he'll take a lot less for a one-year prove-it deal and hope to leverage it into his final big payday. If he does that, he'll want to play on a team with a lot of exposure and a QB who can make him look good. And then we're right back in the game (as is KC). That's what BBB means when he says he's monitoring the situation. I don't think the odds of it happening are great, but I don't think they're nonexistent either.
  18. I totally agree with this. I don't blame him for reaching for the bag. I blame us for thinking he'd do it differently. Things changed when he got cut. When he was listing the QBs he wanted to play for, he still had a big contract that presumably his new team (with or without the Cardinals' help) would pay for. If he could play under that contract for a contender... why not? But he got cut, so now he's got to figure out another way to get paid. I have to believe that of the teams with the cap room to add him at the salary he wants, the Patriots are the worst possible destination for all of the reasons I've already enumerated PLUS the fact that they play in an absolute hellish division where they're almost guaranteed to finish fourth. God but that felt good to write.
  19. I left a lot of bait out there; it was just a matter of time before someone bit. Still doesn't detract from the main point: he has no chance at a ring if he goes there.
  20. If that happens here, Idk why we're even talking about him. Other teams have the ability to offer more and most likely will.
  21. There could be no better indication that we don't want or need DHop than if he goes to the Patriots. He'd be taking the most possible money to play with the worst possible QB, for a head coach who's washed, for an OC he had problems with before, with a team that didn't make the playoffs last year and didn't show up for the playoffs two years ago. That's not a guy you want.
  22. Then again... that's prime advertising space. Maybe they could hang banners from the rafters of the roof that supposedly covers 65% of the stands.
