  1. Seriously, I am not trying to muck it up or anything, but why the clamoring for Brady Quinn, Alex Smith, etc.? Perhaps giving Brohm a shot is fine I mean he is on the roster, but reaching out for another team’s garbage is ridiculous at this point? With garbage at the OT position – were people crying out for trying to get Cornell Green? This is tantamount to what you are doing banging the war drums for Smith or Quinn. Stop it already - are you trying to light a fire and win…what, 2, 3 games? For what purpose? None is better than Fitzpatrick, (and that’s not a cry of advocacy for Fitzy mind you – he’s a back-up at best).

I just find it mind blowing that people are chasing some interim solution at QB when this team has more vital interim needs – say OT, pass rushing LB, (Hell…any LB for that matter)…I would hazard a guess – if the Colts decided to trade Payton Manning to the Bills tomorrow – they would still be no better than a 3 win team – that’s it.

You want immediate impact for the 2010 season – I’ll let you in on a little secret – THERE IS NONE!!! Your administration is doing a gut check of what players are viable for the future and retooling according to their tastes. Sit back and enjoy the carnia – this current version of the Bill’s will win 4 games over the next two years – the most you can hope for is a spark next year….

agree with everything you said until the we will win 4 games in the next 2 years.

if we have a very good draft our young players keep developing and God forbid get Luck we will win a lot more than 4 games next year let alone this year and next year.

i think you just got a little carried away.

we win yesterdays game if we had a QB who could keep his passes from bouncing off the turf or sailing 5 feet over receivers heads or under throwing them by 5 yards.

  2. Agreed, but IF and only IF they feel Brohm could be the guy going forward. Fitz = Brohm IMO, so i don't believe we'll be any worse off for the remainder of this season.

There are too many people screaming for a QB change just because the bills still haven't won with fitz in there. We'll, news flash, he doesn't play defense, so it's not really his fault.

thats total BS. you dont talk for me bro.

that being said it's all about winning. yea the defense was bad.

however as bad as they played ritz had receivers open all over the field yesterday and he could not get the ball near them.like i said if he had any accuracy yesterday we would have won the game in spit of our defense.

Christ he bounced a screen pass @ the feet of roscoe and there was not a defender around him.

the funniest thing was that roscoe caught it off the bounce and because it was behind the line of scrimmage it was a lateral. i never have saw anything like that in all my years of watching football.

espn a few weeks ago rated the most inaccurate QB's in the last 5 years i think. guess who was #1 by a mile our boy fitz.

i guess the 3 other teams who all cut his as- are all dummies, whatever.

  3. Your not going to hear any Ryan Fitzpatrick bashing from me. We got a little more then expected in leaderhip and the guy gave it all. He is my choice for 2nd String and that is saying alot. He belongs here.

We have got to get an extented look at Brian Brohm and now is the time, I would also like to take a short look and Levi Brown.

Its the evaluation process before we invest in a drafted quarterback.....

I'm with you all the way. was at the game as usual but i have to say i have never in my 50 years of watching NFL football seen a more inaccurate QB than fitz.

yea he will throw one good pass(the TD to evans) then you can count on 10 absolutly horrible throws.

if he had any accuracy or consistent accuracy yesterday we win that game by double digits.

i can not count how many times the ball bounced on the turf @ the feet of wide open receivers or how many times it sailed 5feet over a open receivers head. he also under threw so man receivers it was not even funny.

as a fan i cannot watch this guy for 11 more weeks. he is what he has always been a horribly inaccurate terrible QB.

at least broahm is young,i could live with his mistakes we need to know if he can play or not.

one thing Galiey has to know just like the 3 other teams who cut Fitz knew is that he cant play in the NFL.

Arent they getting a pretty good look at him in practice now that he's #2?

BB hasnt impressed anyone anywhere at any time since joining the NFL.

"now is not the time" to "give him a look" to use the cliches.

The team is fragile right now and the coaching staff isnt going to come switch QBs with Fitz playing well - yes fitz is playing well comparatively. No i dont think hes the answer either.

obviously you did not attend the game yesterday and have to suffer thru watching fitz throwing the football.

to say he is playing well is mind boggling IMO

  4. I am 100% certain that Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson is priming this team for a sale and eventual move to another city.

    100%!

    No doubt.

    They're gone.

There will never be a Vince Lobmardi in WNY.

Ralph Wilson knows that in the current economy even a so-so team would fetch a hefty amount of money to sell but a 0-16 team could be sold easily - cheap. Even if the Bills are sold cheaply RW still makes a lot of money.

Oh, well. We still have the Orangemen football here in Syracuse.

do you realize how stupid your logic sounds.dumbest thing i ever heard. crappy team easy to sell cheap. great logic make your team so bad so you can sell it for less money. absolute stupidity.

an NFL team good or bad is worth a fortune. if they are a bad team they are not worth less.

you devalue your business so you can sell them for what less money, just asinine?

this has nothing to do with wilson selling the team.

there are only 32 of these franchises in the world they are worth their weight in gold.to think Ralph is trying to make the team bad so he can sell it cheap is the dumbest logic i ever heard.really stupid man i'm sorry.

really man try using your head before talking.

there is only one spot for a new franchise and thats LA. oakland,SF and minny will be one of the teams going there not buffalo.

just as info last week Oakland had 32,000 fans @ their game.

to equate our being bad as a signal that the team is being sold(for cheap no less) is flat out foolish and laughable.

  5. I think too many people UNDERESTIMATED last year's coaching staff. Especially after Fewell took over. Every Bills loss this year shows the potential as a head coach that Perry Fewell exhibited last season. When Fewell goes for job interviews next off season all he should say is "Look at how many wins I squeezed out of that sorry bunch in Buffalo." Which will be followed on the other side of the desk by "You truly are a miracle worker, welcome to _____, you're our new head coach."

i think your getting a little carried away or have been hitting the pipe to ease the pain of th game.

we immediatly need a new qualified DC and a competent QB who when he throws the ball you have some idea of the vacinity of where it is going.

right now we have the most innacurate QB in the league.its great that he will push it down the field more than trent but the problem is sometimes the ball has to be near his intended receiver that would really help a lot.

  6. Where are all of the geniuses that ran these guys out of town because they thought the Oline was the reason why Edturds stunk. Great job! We are in much better shape now. I'm sure Ralph appreciates your support of his decision to pinch some pennies, save some money and keep us WAY under the cap.

obviously you dont read a lot.

the fans hate peters and think he is a fat lazy as- after he took the money and his numbers show it.

philly has a terrible line and peters has been giving up double digit sacks with regularity and is also taking some costly penalties that are hurting his team.

do your own research, dont believe me.

  7. Name one Buffalo Bill drafted in the first round that showed so little in the first 2 years that eventually became a productive player worthy of a number 1 selection? Excluding a season long injury. Example: Willis McGahee

Some played okay but made slow progress. Maybin has shown absolutely nothing.

Keep in mind the guy has a huge contract as well. NO PROGRESS, BIG PAYCHECK= BYE BYE :flirt:

blame DJ for drafting a 19 year old Sophomore. maybin should be in his senior year @ Penn tate this year not the NFL.

they will not cut him until after next year that is IF he fails nest year.

he just turned 22,its not his fault that the bills picked a 19 year old kid to come in and play in the NFL.

  8. Bob's dead on about all the bills draft pick misses. Couldn't possibly agree more that it is the reason this franchise is in flux. however, he is acting as though the war room has not changed, and that simply is not true.

the 2009 draft class now included Buddy Nix as national scout (no other changes)

the 2010 draft class now included Nix as GM and Gailey as HC, and subsequently will involve Doug Whaley and Darrell Moody and will no longer involve John Guy and Dick Jauron. This is not the same war room. I do have some issues with promoting the scouts within, though a scouts job is to compile data for the GM, Asst GM, HC and NS to evaluate and make draft decisions on. Perhaps the scouts do a poor job of compiling that data, or, more likely - the prior regime did a poor job at judging and picking off that data. I don't know where Modrak is in all of this, but it is hard for me to imagine the guy was successful in Pittsburgh and Philly and now suddenly sucks in Buffalo. maybe I'm wrong, maybe he just was in the right place at the right time with Cowher and Reid there, but I doubt it...

in the end- this is a new war room next year, with two main additions who come from successful organizations - Whaley and Moody. Winning comes from the top down and it can only help to have guys in the FO who have come from winning organizations. I expected the 09 and 10 drat classes to have more of a lasting impact then the entire 00 decade, outside of maybin of course. At least it seems we hit on our 2nd 1st rounder and 2 2nd rounders in 09 and lets hope that CJ starts to shine like we all know he can now that Marshawn is gone. Troupe and Carrington might take a little more time to physically grow and be groomed into their positions, but David Nelson has been a huge addition.

In the end, everyone is just bashing the sh*t out of the bills FO. Well what did you expect after years of 7-9 crap? You need to gut the entire house before re-doing the foundation. We should be thankful Nix had the balls to do it. Does everyone think Polian came in here and it was suddenly a playoff team? um nope....

give it time and support the team - at the very least go to the games cause us guys in the service overseas cant... GO BILLS!

BS if andrew luck is there there will be no miss. for that matter Mallett or even locker will be just fine.

secondly blaming modrak only shows ignorance,he is head of collage scouting. he does not make the picks.

if anyone listened to thurman thomas monday, last year modrak wanted brian cushing in the first and that was his suggestion to DJ. DJ over ruled him and wanted Maybin cushing turned out to be DROY.

    how it that Modrak's fault.

thurman also said Modrak is very highly thought of in the NFL and he got that right from the mouth of none other than Bill Polian.

the whitner and lynch picks were also the picks of DJ and Levy. Modrak desperately wanted to draft Nagta and was over ruled again by DJ .

to blame the scouts (modrak) for the picks is asinine. they can only tell you who the good players are they cannot make their bosses not pick need players over the best available players on the board. get a freaking clue.

  9. Will everyone let the Lynch thing go? Moss will have a much greater impact on the Vikings that Lynch will on the Seahawks. Plus, the Vikings 3rd will probably be only about 15 spots away from where the Seahawks 4th will be.

I'm sad to see our 1st rounder Beast-Mode go for only a 4th as well, but at what point do you just pull the plug. Spiller is the future and Jackson is too good to be on the bench. Jackson was not going to fetch that much on the open market and Spiller isn't going anywhere. And remember, Lynch is the guy who is one Jay-Walking away from a year suspension.

I hope this implosion ends soon.

Now trade Evans and Whitner please...

you actually had an intelligent post until you suggested we trade Evans next.

nix is trying to fill holes by dealing players from a position of strength. the complete stupidity of trading Evans would not only weaken the team but also give us another massive hole to fill. really man use your head.

NE just traded moss for a third, sow we trade evans for a third do you think we are going to replace Evans with that third?

it makes no sense to trade evans or any of our good players. we need good players what we dont need is to cut the good players we have.

Lynch was expendable because we had an abundance of running backs so it does not hurt us and the pick definatly helps us,its very simple yet half the bills fans dont seem to get it.

  10. We will be taking a QB, or at least that's the common perception.

So far its obvious the management has no interest in bringing in decent players, or keeping decent players.

Likely, our line stays the same, or somehow gets worse. We lose Lynch to free-agency, and Freddie is getting old. Spiller looks to be not very useful outside of the return game.

    We draft a stud QB.

Likely we will draft Leaf vs Manning, but lets say we get the Manning... do you think he will be any good here? And if he is, do you think the Bills would actually re-sign him when his rookie contract is up?

Prediction: We choose the "wrong" QB. Keep our ****ty line. And the QB gets released within 2-3 years. Just look at our history of first round busts over recent years. (yes, I know it's early to call Spiller a bust, but it's looking like he's not really ready for anything but returns)

just pray andrew luck comes out and all the experts believe he will because #1 he will be the first pick and #2 if he doesant in 2012 there will definatly be a rookie cap and there goes his 50 million dollar pay day.

every scout and gm i have read or heard has stated that he is the best QB prospect to come out in 10 years.

  11. Kelsay was functionally useless in an important game at home. He overpursued with regularity, he put no pressure on the QB, and most - importantly - didn't come close to making a play.

Since everything tastes better deep fried, I will order up some deep fried crow. He's not average.

well he's making average starting money in his new deal and unfortunatly we dont have anyone better than him on the team right now.

  12. Take a look at who started for the Jets D-Line today...

    Shaun Ellis-Sione Pouha-Mike DeVito

Ellis is the only legitimate starter on the line after the Jets lost Jenkins. Pryce, who they just picked up, didn't even play. Yet, the Jets looked great against the run. Why is that? Because they have a great group of linebackers. Bart Scott, David Harris, Jason Taylor, and Bryan Thomas were all over us today.

I would argue that we have a good core of D-lineman on this team. They aren't getting pushed backwards, and Williams, Edwards, and even Johnson seemed to be able to take on double teams well today.

The problem lies in our linebacker core. The only legit starter we had on the field today was Poz. Kelsay, Torbor, Ayodele, Maybin, and Coleman are incredibly weak. Andra Davis would have helped out a lot today, but that's not enough. It kills me that we could still have guys like London Fletcher and Takeo Spikes still on this team, and we could have drafted Brian Orakpo instead of the reach for Maybin last year int he draft. And someone needs to be fired for extending Kelsay. But this is where we stand. There's no looking back at this point, only forward to the future.

I believe we have a good enough front line and secondary to make some noise on defense. We need to spend the rest of this season and next offseason looking for playmakers to add to our linebacker/pass rusher unit. We're not as far away as some people think with this group.

fletcher is getting benched because he does not fit a 3/4,just reported. spikes role is being diminished also.

  13. This years crop of QB's does not rank a low #1-#3 selection in the draft.

There is no Peyton Manning, Sam Bradford, John Elway.

I hate to ruin your plans but the Bills don't need to lose to move up in the draft.

Truth is I would take Fitzpatrick or Brohm over any of these guys. :flirt:

dont show your ignorance of the game by making statements like this that make you look like a fool.

i dont suppose mommy let you stay up late last night so you could see andrew luck play against Oregon?

i know you never heard of Mallet or even Locker but thats ok just keep spewing @ the mouth with dumb comments like this and i'm sure everyone will take you seriously.

  14. I get the distinct impression you haven't watched Mallet play too often.

he has not only not seen mallet but i guarantee he has not seen Luck either the guy is totally lost.

fitz or brohm are you freaking kidding me.

3 other teams cut fitz and wanted no part of him but they are all wrong and your right.

go hit the crack pipe again and fry some more brain cells so you can make more asinine comments like these.

:flirt:

you are truly a lost id-ot and dont watch much collage football either. most NFL GM's have been waiting for this draft to get their QB.

if you dont think Luck or Mallett is a great future QB you clueless and thats not to mention Lockler who everyone in the world has going #1 but i personally like Luck and Mallet better, and dont think i dont know luck is a junior, but he will come out because he knows if he doesn't and with a rookie wage scale coming in the next CBA if he does not come out there goes his pay day.

mallet reminds me so much of kelly its not even funny,he already has over 41 passes of 40 yard or more in his career the kid is an absolute stud as is luck.

you truly have no idea what you are talking about, absolutly brain dead post.

  16. Nix has made a series of terrible personnel moves. Terrible draft with which we are getting almost no production out of, wasting first round pick on RB , not keeping incognito, resigning Kelsay, mediocre free agent moves such as cornell at RT. He has done nothing to upgrade the talent on the team. I do think Gailey is a good HC, but we have an inexperienced DC. Overall, I feel he is overmatched for the job.

    what an assinine clueless post.

gruden (i know he does not know as much about football as you) called spiller the best player in the draft.

incognito who has mental issues is not needed because we have 2 young stud guards like mike mayock says "buffalo has the best young guard duo in the NFL"

they kept kelsey a seasoned vet and signed him for peanuts until they find a younger player to replace him, great move by Nix.

lastly anyone with half a brain knows free agency is not the way you build a good football team and its been proven over and over. want the best example look @ Washington.

the only guy overmatched for the job is you because you obviously dont know the game very well.

  17. It's funny, I rewatched both games on NFL Replay and I think that an objective fan would think Bell is developing as fast or faster than Wood and Levitre. I know that's sacrilege to those on this board who spout nonsense about our "stud" guards, but makes a lot of blocks and may not suck.

nonsense my as-. mike mayock who forgot more about football than you will ever know said buffalo has the best pair of young guards in the league.

wood is coming of a devastating injury and is rounding back into form. the fact that he is playing at all this soon is amaizing and a tribute to his toughness and determination.

by the way livitre was named to the all rookie team in his rookie year and is switching from a collage LT to guard in the NFL due to his short arms.

you obviously dont do your homework and just spout off @ the mouth.

nix and mayock had Livitre rated #1 @ guard and #1 @ center for woods coming out and we got the both of them.we also now have the second rated guard coming out in the kid we claimed from pittsburgh.

you are totally lost my friend.

  18. perhaps we get lucky and wang turns into a player at left tackle and Bell can move to the right side . I can dream at least

pat kirwin, former GM of the jets and a Sirius daily host when we drafted wang said before the year is over he will be our RT.

he is very high on the kid and says technique wise and mistake wise he is an excellent player.he also was the starting RT for one of the top collage programs in the country Oklahoma.

IMO when wang is healthy he will replace Green.

Bell better hope he can run block, because he is amongst the Top 5 worst pass blockers in football, and his buddy Cornell Green is the only reason he isn't the worst pass blocker on the team.

give the kid a break. he is green as grass. the fact that he is playing LT in the NFL and holding his own is a tribute to the kind of athlete he is and only shows good for the future as he gains expirance.

if bell develops and stays away from the penalties, he could be the next jason peters. he seems humble enough to not want as much money as peters did too. wood and levetrie are only in their second year in the nfl and have enormous potential to be above average guards. hangartner is a back up playing on a bad team, hes just another melvin fowler (remember him?) maybe if we get another good guard, we could shift wood over to center. right tackle is self explanatory, hopfully wang gets in the game soon.

you are out of your mind on you opinion of hangartner. he is 10 times the player fowler ever was at his worst.

hangartner is a good center and most important is probably the most intelligent center in the league and that is very important because the center sets the pre snap adjustments.

you dont have a clue about what you are talking about.

  19. There is a new three headed monster at OBD. I'm starting to see more and more evidence that Nix, Whaley & Gailey (wow that sounds like a law firm) went to Ralph and said "we can build you a winner but it's going to take time and 2010 isn't going to be pretty". Wilson and Nix both made comments during the offseason that indicated that there would be massive roster evaluations and that it would be a long year. I believe Ralph said something about the fans keeping their hopes realistic and Nix said something about not expecting miracles. I sincerely believe that Nix and Whaley know what they've got and are content with a long term plan to fix it.

If 2010 is truly the first year of a massive rebuild/restructure then I'm ok with a crappy season. I'd rather come out of this year knowing that 30 of the guys on the Bills roster are legitimate starters than continue to go through ****ty season after ****ty season. Simon was talking about this earlier and Jeremy suggested that maybe the 2010 season is just one giant preseason?

If that's the case, I wouldn't be surprised to see more dramatic changes. Obscure players who didn't see the field like Roscoe get elevated and "names" like Hardy, Edwards and others get shown the door.

One thing is certain, it's going to be an interesting year.

roscoe is a unique play maker and his coach @ the U knew it and charted his play on game days ordering that roscoe get the ball in his hands 15 times a game.

galie knows a game changer when he sees one and roscoe is having a fine year.

it was the previous coaching staffs that had no idea ho to incorporate roscoe into the offense and it was a major mistake.

give galiey some props for utilizing roscoe.

  20. How could he dare do it? Just shows you his heart was never in the game. I doubt another team will pick him up next year.... That was the last play of his career.

kind of the exact example with JP's career.

JP had balls but was so stupid he had no chance.

i would have liked to see how trent would have been today had he not gotten tagged in that arizona game.

he was lights out that year and the talk of the NFL then he got tagged and he was never the same again.

  21. I say we make a trade for Vince Young. Why not? At least he'll run around and make things interesting. The Titans/Jeff Fisher are done with him. Maybe we could make a straight up trade: Maybin for Young.

you are out of your mind if you think they are trading VY.

secondly if your illusion could happen the price would be astronomical.

really man you need to be real!

I say we make a trade for Vince Young. Why not? At least he'll run around and make things interesting. The Titans/Jeff Fisher are done with him. Maybe we could make a straight up trade: Maybin for Young.

    you my friend are delusional.

    try dealing with reality.

and if they ever entertained trading VY the price would be astronomical. get freaking real and stop dreaming!!

  22. Look, it's time to accept that the QB situation makes it impossible to judge the Bills receivers. Have they always been playing their best? No. But they are basically asked to run sprints whenever the Bills have the ball, because it's unlikely the ball is even gonna come out of Trents hands, no matter what the playcall. I'm sure it would be difficult for ANY player to keep their head in the game.

Lee Evans is a good receiver, open to debate how good, but he is a legitimate NFL receiver that would start (maybe not the #1, but would start) for any other team.

The Ills suck, and it's not Lee Evans. If anything, I feel bad for the guy because he resigned with the Bills when he should have left.

You're scapegoating him. Every guy on the BIlls is overpaid. I could go out there and be completely ineffective, just like a handful of guys on the team that are just about invisible.

no all you guys if you watched the game yesterday would know that to blame this on the QB with the pressure he faced yesterday id ludacris.

secondly to try and blame him for not going deep is laughable.

how the hell does any QB throw it long when he is getting his as- kicked and on the ground.

you people are all IDIOTS and dont get me wrong i'm not a trent lover but really lets at least try to act like we know something about the game.

lastly edwards as much as he is hated is by far the best QB on this team.

anyone who actually attends the games or watches this team and wants to watch fitz run this team again is flat out on crack. i learned last year he is unwatchable and does not belong on any nfl team.

so we are stuck with edwards but yesterday and to a big extent the first game to blame the lack of a passing game on edwards is stupid its not his fault. no QB can throw when he is constantly under pressure or on his as-.

  23. anyone notice the Bills offensive looked a lot better, at least initially, after Levitre went out? a few have been griping about his strength issues, and this may have backed that up. after Howard came in, who i admittedly did not think much of, we ran the ball down their throats for a while. put it this way, we certainly did not miss him. interesting.

you are out of your mind or delusional.

mayock had livitre rated the #1 guard in the draft.

last year he was our best offensive lineman and made the all rookie team.

you have no idea what you are talking about. if cordero was better he would be starting. really man start using your head a little.
