  1. I have never liked this guy. He is too similiar to what we have on this team already. Hes 5'11. He does not address our height need on the outside. He doesnt address our red zone problems either. Im glad they are active, but this isnt the answer in my opinion. Hes injury prone(foot) and not exactly 26, I believe hes 33. I just want to know why everyone is so excited. If they are trying to get speed on the outside at both spots, that doesn't seem to make sense with our average(atbest) armed qb.

Drwas coverage - more of a recieving threat than Parrish. I agree the Bills need a big bodied receiver but Coles would be a decent pick up if he is not looking for insane money.

  2. This topic has nothing to do about the Bills not signing a free agent on day 1, but rather how I am discouraged as a fan of todays landscape. Not only is Ralph have cheap pockets, free agency has ruined a small markets team of competing. Yes, while I recognize a garbage team can make a quick turnaround, but The Bills cant because (1) no free agent wants to play in the cold (2) we blow (3) and if there was a remote chance a FA wanted to play here, we dont have the Pockets to pay him.

The Bills were much better suited to survive in a league where you build thru the draft and that player was yours for his career. Under this assumption, I am convinced our days of winning a championship will never happen. Trust me, I am far from doom and gloom, but just wonder why I waste my time. Not a fair weather fan, just fairly disappointed.

    Any thoughts?

Your prdictions are a bit dire. Dan Snyder has shown everybody that you can't buy a team - same can be said for Jerry Jones - Buffalo has to improve at QB and frankly Dickie and staff have to get smarter. I really do not believe at the end of the day that the Cheatriots roster - top to bottom is that much better than the Bills. - They play better, they are coached better and their front office is smarter about how to manage the team overall. You can't tell me that Matt Cassell is a superstar - he was developed and handled far better. He wa not required to play according to gameplans that made no sense and were entirely predictable.

  3. This is just the crack investigations we need for the most spend thrift President in history.

If they really went after him with anything of substance they would be called racist and unamerican. Then again outside of his obscene spending there may just not be anything of substance to investigate.

  4. Yeah... Cap doesn't mean much when you have the money. Washington apparently wants to put a good team on the field this year.

    The Bills...not so much... :w00t:

Keep in mind Snyder has thrown maney at FA's for years and it has not led to success on the field. NE's success has come from a smart FO and smart coaching staff. They use players on their roster better than anyone. No other team has come remotely close to the plug and play concept they have been able to deploy.

  5. That's the niche Sullivan has carved out for himself -- to speak up and challenge Bills' management. Does he go over the top sometimes? Sure he does. In this case, however, he is dead on.

Though there's no reason to be bitter about the ineptitude that has plagued the Bills front office for the better part of a decade is there?

    Well said.

The Porter jab had a bit more venom to it. It was Week 17 in Buffalo in 2004 and his Steelers had already secured home-field advantage. There was speculation the Pittsburgh starters would play only minimally.

"How long you guys playing today," I asked Porter as we walked back to the huddle after I blocked him on a long gainer by Willis McGahee.

"Long enough to kick your ass," responded Porter.

That one, I have to admit looking back on it, was really pretty good and a wonderful depiction of Porter's Sunday mindset.

We need some of that attitude on the Bills.

  7. I am sick and tired of signing other teams "Trash". I can probably count on ONE hand, the number of free agents we have signed since 1999 that have come here and performed at a high level. Specifically, our offensive line NEEDS to be put together via the draft. I would much rather have 5 Brad Butlers than a Melvin Fowler, Joe Panos, Bennie Anderson, Chris Vallerial, Derrick Dockery, Mike Gandy, Trey Teague or any other BUM that we have tried to plug in our line....I am SICK of this sh--.....NO MORE CRAP!

While I agree teams have to draft effectively it is wrong to dismiss FA out of hand. It is an avenue by which you can improve your team. Buffalo has so many needs to fill that they must be active in FA including in my opinion getting at least a guard or center to fill the holes they are left with on th o-line. They can't possibly plug all the gaps through the draft.
