  1. This week is a must win for SD. I know this is said about nearly every game every week but they will be in a deep hole if they lose. Makes them hungrier when they play Buffalo.

Does anybody know Buffalo's won lost record coming off of bye weeks. I want to believe that it is not good.

  2. Let's get worried if they lose a few in a row. If you thought the Bills were going to go 16-0 I would like to get my hands on the stuff you are smoking. Let's get serious here. Buffalo is a young team. A very young team when you look at their average age (I believe the third youngest in the league).

The issue coming from the cards game is -- will they learn from it and play better in upcoming games as a result?

Keep in mind Poz is essentially a rookie, Mckelvin was seeing significant playing time as a rookie, Trent is only in his second year (ditto for lynch) and James Hardy - like most receivers in their first year - is making a big leap from college to the pros.

I am not trying to bury my head here - O-line definately not playing well. Defensive coordinators have picked up on Edwards dink and dunk pattern of play. We have to run the ball better. D still shows weaknesses etc. I'll take a loss to a non-division team this early in the season if it helps them to improve. Better to lose to the cards than it is to the Jets, Miami, NE or any other AFC team in that order.

If te Bills lay an egg against San Diego then I get worried. If they come back after the bye and play well how could you complain with 5 -1?

  3. Hard hit that was clean. It is not the defense's job to avoid hitting him. It is Buffalo's job to protect him. Not training camp where Edwards gets to wear a "do not touch me" red jersey.

This is clean especially if wolfork's hit on JP last year was not deemed to be "dirty." (I know he got fined but it was peanuts given he intentionally threw the elbow to the knee).

  4. Just to think as a kid I cheered for this guy - I was in Buffalo Children's hospital for surgery the day he broke the 2,000 yard milestone. I remember about 8 of us kids - none older than 9 or 10 - and our parents cheering and carrying on. Had to watch it on a B&W TV - definately not high def - What's interesting is that I can't even recall if Buffalo won that game.

  5. I still cant watch it either.

"Where would you rather be, than right here, right now"

"Why did Hitler lose WW2? He couldnt win on the road"

It is hard to believe that a team with so much talent could not close the deal. Bottom line is they were outcoached in the game and the Giants offensive line played beyond their abilities.

I simply pray that I will be alive when we finally get the Lombardi Trophy. My doctor suggests that I may have forty to fifty years. However, these fourth quarter comeback victories are reducing that time in leaps.

  6. If he had a problem with the situation why did he agree to the trade?

Davis is just trying to deflect some attention to another issue because his lawyers probably told him that Kiffin will have a field day in the courts over his actions and statements. Not saying that Kiffin is pure in the situation but to be publically ridiculed was not justified. Davis could have simply said the team has elected to relase him and then left it at that.

  7. Thank god we have some enlightened, wiser posters on this board to tell others when it is OK to get upset! If not for your instructions, I might have griped about this erroneously.

Tapping into the wealth up in Toronto was a smart move. Buffalo must now do its part by turning the population decline around. No matter how passionate the fans are the end game is about TV viewers and corporate money (i.e.boxes).

I live in Dallas and while I hate Jones and the boys they are a money generating machine. The sad thing for the people here that are passionate about the team is that they will be priced out of games. I imagine that if the team does not win this will eventually erode interest in the team.

    Just a few thoughts.

  8. Stability alone does not a winner make. There are several examples of unchanged front offices which continue to lose. Oakland and Detroit come to mind. San Francisco has been similar for a few years.

At the same time, you've got a team like the Giants who transitioned at GM when Ernie Accorsi retired and Jerry Reese entered.

It's more than continuity or stability, it's having a front office that routinely makes good decisions and finds the right players and coaches.

    Point(s) well made.

  9. I am going to be there too!!!

Saw a Bills game there many years ago - great atmosphere. It will remind you of the scene at the Ralph.

Fans busted on us a little but were generally pretty friendly. Most offered beer and food as we walked through the parking lot. Seemed pretty proud of their tailgating setups.

KC overall is a pretty nice city - we have an office there so I get up once and a while.

  10. Great thread.

The best teams in the league have stability in their coaching staffs and front offices.

The only point you did not make in the original post that I would add is that it is a blessing to have the coach and the FO on the same page. No need to rehash history but we have not had this in a long time.

I say Jauron gets a three to five year extension.

  11. I wasn't sure that this would actually get through, the only Jags fans I cared for were the skinny little females wearing bandaid sized skirts and a Jaguars bandana tied around their chest....excellent, we picked the perfect postgame tailgating spot.

Being my first away game ever, I was amazed at the stupidity at some of these sun drenched Jags fans - as a side note, I STILL have not ever seen the Bills lose in person!!!

We should have you attend all the bills games - including the Superbowl - anyone willing to kick in a few bucks to fund this? <_<

  12. Bills Fans are the best. Matched maybe - only by Green Bay and KC. BTW if any of you get he chance to attend games at either of these .... go. I am going to see Buff in KC again this year. Great crowd..great tailgating. I also attended games in LA when I lived there and there were NFL teams there. A joke an absolute joke. If th NFL allows the bills to go there someday they are idiots. BTW I live in Dallas now and the fans here are stupid. They are lucky to have a cheating b*sT*rd owner. Hde plays game with the cap.

  13. There is a good bit of work to be done to cement this claim. Don't get me wrong I am happy with the win. The Bills were playing a team with the center of their o-line gone and they still allowed J-ville to hang in this game. A great win from an emotional standpoint but not yet impressive.

Also, the Jets, while the media darlings because of Brett, are a joke. :wallbash:
