  1. The reason that everyone jumped on you is that this is not a new idea. It's been rehashed over, and over, and over again, and most people understand that it is unlikely to happen, mostly because of the $ involved.
  2. Tim, I'm glad to hear you'll be sticking around. I enjoyed your piece on the labor negotiations and the possibility (or probability) of a lockout in 2011. Do you have any idea what this means for next year's draft? I would guess that the high number of juniors who came out for this year's draft is related in two ways: 1. Trying to get paid before a rookie cap is put in place. 2. Trying to get paid at all before 2012. If there is a lockout next year, would you still expect the draft to happen in April? It seems like their could be so many questions around rookie pay which could really complicate things. Just wondering if you have any insight (facts or opinions would be appreciated.)
  3. The idea of someone trading into the top 10 because they don't want to pay two second round picks is a bit flawed, considering they'll pay millions more just for the # 9 pick than they would for the other three players combined. Last year's #9: Green Bay - DT, B.J. Raji, Boston College - Signed (5-years, $28.5M; $17.7M guaranteed) Last Year's #22: Minnesota - WR, Percy Harvin, Florida - Signed (5-years, $14.25M max; $8.425M guaranteed) Last Year's #47: Oakland (fr. NE/SD) - S, Mike Mitchell, Ohio - Signed (4-years, $3.778M; $2.028M guaranteed) Last Year's #53: Philadelphia - RB, LeSean McCoy, Pittsburgh - Signed (4-years, $3.497M; $1.727M guaranteed) The only way someone is trading up to that pick is if they feel a difference maker is still available at that position. This being the deepest draft in recent memory, I just don't see it happening.
  4. you're either going to have to find a link, or we'll assume that you're talking out of your hindquarters. I was drunk from about 1998 - 2003, so I really don't remember what happened, but I'm certainly going to take jw's word over yours.
  5. For a punter to get in, I think he'd have to be a freak of nature. Maybe a 50 yard average, or even a 50 yard net average for him to be considered. I always thought Tasker had a shot, especially since they did create a new pro bowl position for him, but I think if he does get in it won't be for a long time.
  6. At least there aren't very many of them (Jaguars fans, I mean.)
  7. I love it when people get all self righteous while quoting the wrong post.
  8. This is another good article on another Bills special teamer who unfortunately probably won't get in. http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/...ay-i-deserve-it
  9. To start, he'd have to switch positions. http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/01...-about-ray-guy/
  10. I think he's had a number of second chances. But I'm still happy that he's been able to turn around his life. I hope he can keep it going.
  11. Very interesting piece. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/01/sports/f...01hargrove.html
  12. Wishing you a full and speedy recovery.
  13. This is the greatest thread of all time. I have seen the top of the mountain, and it was good.
  14. That's your opinion. In Ralph's opinion, maybe the right thing to do is what's best for his family. I don't have a problem with that.
  15. I would be ok with this.
  16. Hee hee! I've gotcha!!! Gotcha by the bawls!!!
  17. Here's my guess for who was calling for the job. Totally blows your mind. http://bit.ly/7S7PBa
  18. It's better than being excited about this past year I suppose.
  19. Have you erased all memory of Gregg Williams and Dick Jauron? I don't blame you, but...
  20. Me too, except a lot.
  21. He's not the type of guy to take a knee before the half.
  22. So he's saying that Dungy knew who he wanted to hire, even though he didn't actually want the job? This guy sounds like he's full of **** to me.
  23. Actually, the team was sold and they moved to Florida.
  24. So far, the only coach know who has actually turned down an interview is Schott. There's an article in this morning's Buf News about why, and I believe that it doesn't have much to do with the Bills. Rivera has only stated that he won't interview until after the playoffs, which is the same thing Grimm has said. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...o-interview.htm If we interviewed Harbaugh and decided not to hire him, it makes sense for it to be a secret, since it would have negative effects on his recruiting. If he interviewed and decided not to take it because he loves Stanford, we probably would have heard that from him, because it increases his profile to potential recruits.
  25. Mark it down, he (or she) has two arms. Or more than two arms. But at least two arms. Or 1.5 arms. But more than just one arm, definitely. Thanks John!
