  1. Sorry dude, But Miami is the place to be in the south. Miami is the NYC/LA of the south.. We got ATL beat on most levels, Women, beaches, clubs, strip clubs.. Seriously dude MIA is the king of the south....

If you can deal with feeling like you are in Mexico and English is a second language. I guess i like living in America. Not Miami/Cuba/Mexico.

  2. Better city in your opinion. Very subjective analysis. You state it as fact. I myself really enjoy Buffalo, and have lived elsewhere and visited every city in this country pretty much. Its funny that the worst ambassadors of this city are the people that left 10 or 15 years ago. Buffalo is a much different place, and I believe is making a nice, albeit slow, turnaround. My Orange County, California wife loves it here, and wouldn't live anywhere else after spending the last 3 years here. So, quit spouting your factual comparison that Atlanta is so much better than Buffalo. To each their own.

By the way, I enjoy Atlanta, but the traffic and the southern culture gets on my nerves real quick. But that is just me.

So you live in inner city Buffalo or a suburb? Just curious?

  3. Looks like we're 0-2 against them again this year. We're sitting back this year and waiting for our chance to pounce. I think it's a smart move. We should let everyone else spend their money now so that 4 years from now we'll be the only team able to make moves. It just means that the next two years we'll remain in the "Rebuilding phase". I like watching "rebuilding" football. It's fun. Everyone in our division gets better as we sit and wait.

  4. +1

Point taken. I admire those that still have faith in our front office. I myself do not. That does not mean that I don't wish beyond everything else that we will at one point bring back glory to the Bills. I just don't think that this is the right position to take in this free agency where we have an equal chance with everyone else to fill some of the holes we have with high caliber players.

The fact that the Bills have yet to sign a free agent is incontrovertible proof that the Bills DO NOT care about winning! Nevermind that free agency does't begin until 6PM Friday, winners don't play by the rules.

I know and everyone talking on this thread knows that Friday is the start of FA Signings. The article on Buddy's statement is what the thread is about. The stance that he says they are taking to stay away from big splashes is almost as dumb as your post.

  5. There is a reason they are big splashes. They are the players that are some of the best at their positions. Evidently we are not searching for any of those. And no , noone has signed a free agent yet but Nix is covering his butt saying don't get to excited cause we aren't going to do much of anything. Why should we be happy with that as fans? I'd rather him say we're going to spend a boatload of money trying to get some quality players in this club. This team (& Nix's statement for that matter) is Depressing hence the depressing thread jeremy.

  6. I understand your venting but you have to agree the team WAS terrible when Buddy took over. He made it clear from Day 1 his plan was to build through the draft and only make "splashes" when he felt the team was a player or two away and that player was there for the taking. Do YOU think the Bills are at that point? And do you think keeping Poz, Stevie and Fitzpatrick is "overpaying for mediocre players"? Last year was so much of "an evaluation" year. This year seems to be focused on keeping the good players, drafting towards need and strength of the draft class (defensive line and defensive back), and not going too crazy with signing stop gap players. Now, having said that, I'd still like to see the Bills take a stab at signing Tyson Clabo. He young enough. Going after Thigpen - who is younger than Fitzy - is another not necessarily stop gap move. The Bills have the making of a really good YOUNG defense. They MAY have their franchise quarterback. They are looking decent at the WR position. Wood and Levitre are solid in the middle of the line and they THINK they have something in the two guys they signed late last season. Demetrius Bell is is merely o.k at this point.

So, if you are looking for 10 wins this season EVEN IF THEY SIGN SEVERAL HIGH PRICED free agents, I'd like to have what you are smoking. 8 wins is a max out ...maybeeeee 9?? That would still be 4 more wins (or 5) than last year. Sorry if you have dreams of better but this is how you build it up and no I disagree strongly wit hyour last sentence, " We'll be at best a 50% win team at best for the next 5 years" ( I assume you mean doing what they are currently doing - building through the draft and resigning their best players, carefully restocking the team through free agency).

    Go Bills!

    -RichNJoisy

Rich - The way Nix was putting it was there was no way they'd be even looking at the likes of Clabo with their no big splashes statement. To me Clabo is a big splash. And yes we will have to wait and see but I disagree with the build through the draft sentiment. That is great if you have that kind of time but considering Ralph is no spring chicken and the fact that we've wasted so many high draft picks during the Modrak era I can speak for only myself when I say let's freaking make moves to win not to get gradually better. It is a rebuilding team. I understand that. But I'll take what you're smoking if you really think that Nix's no splashes statement is the way to go. I don't recall naming people when saying overpaying for mediocre players because i do like Poz. Do i think he's a top echelon player. No but he's better than what we have right now.

  7. I said it in the other thread and I agree. It is a special FA this year and they can pick up some decent players. I am losing some faith.... I hope that, that is unwarranted. Why would he even say it? What is the point of announcing it? Other team are going to sign some "splashes".

I completely agree with you. This statement is the epitome of a LOSER mentality. The ole.. "we're going to do the best with what we have". How can you expect the results to change when you keep doing the same things that got us into this mess in the first place.

  8. It's really incredible that Nix would say that they won't spend big money to bring someone in that we all know can upgrade our team tremendously in places of serious need. (I.E. RT Clabo or TE Miller) With the situation in hand that the Bills have to spend a whole bunch of money, why overpay mediocre players to hit that number? Let's make splashes, evidently the whole cash to the cap routine Ralph has implemented during the depression decade of the past 10 years hasn't worked. Get some players that we know they can ball. Sick of the wait for the next draft mentality when there are great options out there NOW. I was all excited to have free agency start and saying to myself, man the Bills can make some good moves here. Come to find out no splashes is the mentality. We'll be at best a 50% win team at best for the next 5 years.

    VENTING.

  9. You have to be a proud son Scott. That was a great article that Bucky wrote and I'm so glad you shared that with all of us. You'll miss her but know that she's with you forever in your heart and you'll meet her again someday in heaven. God bless through your tough time and it sounds like he has already blessed you with a great family that will help you through this.

  10. My link

You gotta love this. We are 4 point underdogs against Cincinnati??? That's incredible. I've learned my lesson about betting on these types of games on the Bills as anyone who has ever bet on them. So in an effort to hope the Bills turn things around this season I will not be placing any bets on them at ALL this year. That's my contribution to the Bill's faithful. This list of teams that are supposedly better than us this year has got to fire this team up. We are going to sweep the dolphins this year but can we beat the pats and jets in at least one game? That would put us at 4-4 in the division games which would at least get us out of the laughable category...

Can't wait to see Dareus B**ch Slap Brady this season, hopefully more than once.

  11. With the young recievers we have on our squad (Nelson,Easely,Jones etc) it really feels as though we are missing a reliable veteran presence. I'm a 50/50 guy on Evans and I think we've seen the peak of his career already. It'd be nice to have 2 veteran recievers to help these guys. I'd love to see more 4 to 5 reciever sets this year so why not bring in a Free Agent that has some reliable hands and routes to help the younger guys. Since the Bills are never going to sign a huge namer like Braylon Edwards or Vincent Jackson or Sidney Rice etc. I think you go for someone who is going to be a positive locker room guy. With that being said who do you think would be the best fit? IMO I like any one of these: Lots of options for vets this year though...

    Brian Finneran (ATL)

    Donte' Stallworth (BAL)

    TJ Houshmandzadeh (BAL)

    Mike Sims-Walker (JAC)

    Kevin Curtis (MIA)

    Hank Baskett (MIN)

    Greg Lewis (MIN)

    Lance Moore (NO)

    Johnnie Lee Higgins (OAK)

    Mark Clayton (STL)

    Maurice Stovall (TB)

  12. If you've ever said "our third string QB could be the answer", you might be a Bills fan.

If you've ever found a positive side of only losing by less then a touchdown on multiple regular season games, you might be a Bills fan.

If you have insider information about Jim Kelly's "buying group" you may be a Bills fan.

If you have ever cracked a beer at 7 AM at the Ralph Parking lot, you may be a Bills fan.

    on that note...

If you would bet your life that there isn't a more die hard fan in the NFL than a Bills fan... you may be a Bills fan.

  13. Is it me or do teams who are established with their systems have a serious edge this year being that there will be no playbooks passed out till there is an agreement of some sort? Having no OTA's and possibly no mini camps is going to turn this rookie class into rookies the following year also... We're stuck rebuilding one extra year then we would have had they not had the Labor disputes. I'm just saying that this really sucks for the Bills and for any teams who are trying to turn a corner. Yes we got better in the draft on D but what good is it if they aren't familiar with the D when we start the season whenever that may be or if at all?

  14. From what all of us have probably heard from Gailey in the news , it's going to take some serious convincing to the coaching staff to even get Maybin on the field during the season this year. A lot of it depends on how he's going to perform in Practice. Some people just can't play the game in a pro environment(Ex:JP LOSMAN) and even with new coaching (Dave W) they just don't have the vision. I just think Maybin had a great year in college against college players got to the pros drafted way ahead of where he should have gone and was tossed around like a ragdoll against professional lineman that had 60 lbs on him on avg. Speed only goes so far..

  15. Really?? In the NFL? How do you know this? Where did you see it?

The Guy runs a 4.28 40 which across the middle I'd like to see a linebacker keep up with that across half that distance.

Theres a BIG difference between all purpose yds and yds from scrimmage for someone that returns kicks.. <_<

Yes there is and yes i did mean from scrimmage but i hadn't had my second cup of coffee yet when i posted. Sorry guys.

  16. I could only find three QB's that were rated to go in the top eschelon of the 1st round but anyone have any other suggestions? I have to say that I wish we had a shot at Locker cause even though he had a so so year last year he's still a winner and has a great feel for the game. All the critics can watch him the next 3 years and eat their words. I'm going to be glued to the TV on Saturdays trying to pay close attention to QB's coming out for next years draft. Anyone have any suggestions on which teams/players to watch for QB?

    Andrew Luck*, Stanford

    Height: 6-4. Weight: 235.

    Projected 40 Time: 4.80.

Projected Round (2012): Top 5 Pick.

3/29/10: A redshirt sophomore in 2009, Andrew Luck will be eligible for the 2011 NFL Draft. He was very impressive as a first-year starter, compiling 2,575 yards, 13 touchdowns and four picks on an 8.9 YPA and a 56.3 completion percentage.

    Matt Barkley*, USC

    Height: 6-2. Weight: 230.

    Projected 40 Time: 4.83.

Projected Round (2012): Top 10 Pick.

7/25/10: As a true freshman, Matt Barkley threw for 2,735 yards, 15 touchdowns and 14 interceptions for USC, maintaining a 7.8 YPA and 59.9 completion percentage. Pretty impressive considering the circumstances. As long as the strong-armed Barkley keeps improving and lives up to the hype, he'll be a top 10 pick in the 2012 or 2013 NFL Draft.

    John Brantley, Florida

    Height: 6-3. Weight: 217.

    Projected 40 Time: 4.69.

Projected Round (2012): Top 25 Pick.

7/25/10: Called a "real quarterback" by one of his teammates, John Brantley played very well in limited action last year, completing 36-of-48 passes for 410 yards, seven touchdowns and no interceptions.
