  1. Dude you need to wake up and get out of fantasy land!! This is the NFL and you pay your players what their worth or Else!!!!

To say Peters purposely sabotoged his team and himself is about as idiotic as wanting to trade him. The bottom line is he held out (per advice of his agent) didnt get into shape until much later in the season and had a tough time as a result of it. I don't blame Peters, All along I thought that we needed to pay him what he is worth and get him into camp. But we didn't and as a result we had Peters play very mediocre football this year.

I never said that he purposley sabotaged the team, I said that he laid down some this year, whether the reason

was the hold out, or anger, only Peters know this, but he did not have a very good year, and it might be unfortunate

that the timing of his poor play was immediatley preceeded by a length holdout, but perception is everything.

  2. Fair points, but Peters (as every player in the NFL does) has to look out for #1. If he blew out his knee earning less money than Dockery and Kelsey think his family would care that he a lot of so-called "character"?

I will never fault a player playing in one of the most brutal sports for trying to get as much money they possibly can. NFl careers could be gone in an instant and not one person on this board who care about Peters as soon as he isn't a Bill.

    Touche!

All good points as well, but, and you knew that there would be one, I still say, without trying to sound

too apple pieish, that in my opinion, he laid down some this year, and the contract situation was probably the reason, as I really doubt that he has lost it. If he would have sucked it up, and went out and led, nobody would have a gripe with him.

We would all be singing his praises, and me the loudest, as I do realize that he is a tremendous talent. Like I said, in another post regarding this thread, i do not like the message that it sends to teammates either, it creates cancer.

After the holdout, he should have came in with fire in his eyes, he would then be rewarded. Like other people have stated,

he was a converted tight end that the Bills had the vision to see his talents at tackle and take a chance, how much is he really owed? He performed at a high level at tackle for what one year? If not for that he might be out of the NFL.

    Just old fashioned, I guess.

  3. So when you find out your job is paying 80% of the people more than you are, even though you're the best one there, you'll go back to work because all your friends there will be sad without you?

Your what's wrong with people today, one word ENTITLEMENT!

You go find the job that pays you what you think your worth.

You don't go back and give 50 %, do you?

  4. Your right, It's not close

If you were to ask pro football players and coaches who is our best player on our team, I guess you would have to look at the pro bowl selection to get that answer.

    Another Moron

wanting to trade away our best talent :pirate:

He made it on reputation only, everbody, or at least the consensus on this board was SHOCKED!

  5. Peters is a pro football player. For any other coach than Jauron, you won't last a day in his shoes. So let's cut out the last stuff.

And people gotta stop comparing your world to the NFL. On any given play, it could be the end of your earning power. So if I'm Peters and the third highest paid linemen on the team, I'd be pissed to. Just pay the man and get him ready for next year. :pirate:

Sorry man, gotta disagree, not to bring up the character issue again, we know where that has gotten us, and I can

understand being pissed about the contract situation and all, but you do have 21 other guys that depend on you.

You are supposed to be a professional, and you have a responsibility to your teammates regardless of your

contract situation, and in MHO, he did not honor that, and effected every other man on that line, he had a ton of

un-timely penalties as well, and was probably the main reason for the line's slow start this past season.

    Trade Him!

  6. or, for that matter, a bills game? :pirate:

That was good, seriously though, I think that Peters is a cancer on the team.

He showed up far less in games this year, I think he was laying down some,

maybe not totally, but he will turn it on again when his contract year arives.

They should part companywith him soon somehow.

  7. What about Dominic Raoila at Center, he has worn out his welcome in the motor city, he probably wants out anyway,

and he, depite his disdain for the fans, would be very servicable. I think that he would have that mean streak in the

middle of the OL that we desperatley need. Then we can focus on DE and TE through the draft

  8. Can we discuss socks and those little towelettes that players like to wear? They miss plays that affect play on the field, but damn, everyone's socks look the same!

Yeh, good point, did I mention that they are manipulative as well. Don't forget that the sign that you carry in to the

stadium better be Poltically NFL correct, as well, or you might be escorted out of the stadium.

  9. I saw a Yahoo! article (I'm too lazy to go look it up again, so just trust me on this) that had the snap clocked at 1.35 seconds after the play clock hit zero.

What I find most interesting about this whole debate is that no one is debating the need for a flag; its pretty well agreed upon that the snap was after the clock it zero. So, there was a penalty. Everyone saw it. Yet, no flag and the league basically says our refs are too old to use their peripheral vision.

The results of the play are inconsequential to the larger problem IMO. The league made a mistake and rather than acknowledge the mistake and take measures to improve, they're just saying well it's tough to get all the calls right sure we'd like to be right all the time but we're not but these refs are all great guys that work hard (sorry had a Jauron moment). It's a growing problem in the NFL. Its almost becoming the norm to expect to see at least 1 or 2 blatantly bad calls in a game - and very often at critical times.

So what is the league doing about it? Are they instituting a replay system like the college game which seems so much better? Are they hiring full time refs that can concentrate on improving their performance? Are they doing anything other than worrying about the refs uniform or head gear? That's what gets me. We all see repeated mistakes being made and the league response is always the same... heh.. so what.

Now you are with the program, this is the NFL, they do not answer to anyone, save for an occasional misguided inquiry on spygate by a certain senator/congressman, and we all saw how he buckled them, resulting in some lame statement, followed by shredding of the evidence. They have no competition, are deep pocketed, arrogant, self-serving, have a captive ever increasing fantasy driven market base, and what kind of attitude did you think they would have? O.K. sir we

f%c$ed up, we will fix that right away for you there. The Nazi Football Leauge takes direction and critiscm from no one, heck they may try to fine me for these comments. Like I keep saying, I still love to watch, by far the best spectator sport

going, but I take what I want from them, and sh-- can the rest. The fantasy nerd/suckers can make sure that they get their

    $$$.

  10. along the lines of:

Small guy at bar jumps up and yells, "ah, all laywers are assh%$es", and the big burly guy next to him chimes in with

"Hey, I take exception to that remark", little guy barks back, "what, are you some kind of an attorney or something"?

Big guy," no, I am an assh%$e".

  11. Honestly, I can't comment of the quality of Sharpe's comments. I've never understood a word that's come out of his mouth.

Aikman is actually a good announcer, I'll add (IMO).

Yeah, Sharpe, though he might actually be fairly knowledgeable from a football standpoint, something gets lost in

the transition of that knowledge from his head to his mouth. And have you ever heard him TRY to pronounce Rothlisberger.

Forget it. His S's need work, I think that I one heard him say that his mama makes good dickey buns.

Chris Carter is Steve Erkle on steroids. He finally discarded the glasses that even made him more of an Erkle dead ringer.

Why is it that these networks feel that they can just throw any old jock at us, regardless of their jounalistic abilities, or the

ability to put two coherent sentences together. Geesh! I actually did turn the announcers off on one of the games, did not

    misss them at all.

  12. I didn't like how fox would, after commercial breaks, show the City Skyline, I think Miami, but could have

been laudersale too, and it its beautiful, so what do they do, they insert a fake building on the left side of the

screen, that almost looked real, why not just leave well enough alone, and quit f&%ng with the graphics.

Just a little pet peave, I do not really pay to much attention to the announcers, it almost sounded like one of them

was Chris Speilman, but I don't think that it was him, I do like him though very much as an announcer.

  13. Just a thought: maybe it's a lot harder to be a Bills fan outside of Buffalo?

Maybe, maybe you ask. Try living in Pittsburgh as a Bills fan, I respect and like the Steelers and their organization, but man they are just not nearly as gracious, success has spoiled them to the point where they will not acknowledge anything good about our organization, or anyone elses for that matter, and although our body of work has something to do with that, losses aside, nobody has been to four consecutive SB's. I am sure that it is just as tough for other Bills fans living in cities other than Buffalo, even ones without the successs that the Steelers have enjoyed. It's tough being a Bills fan period, let alone a Bills fan in some other city. Like it or not the Citiy's image is tied to the Bills, but is perception only, as I am sure that very few of the dissers have been to, or enjoyed the things that this great city and region in general have to offer, they just heard it from someone else, or on the tonight show, let's keep it or little secret.

Although I have a lot of Bills paraphenhlia, jersey,s and coats, and the like, I rarley wear them around here, I just privatley

worship them in the comfy confines of my home, it is just to emotionally challenging. I do not wear my allegiance on my shirt sleaves, although I don't back down from discussions regarding my allegiance, when the topic is broached.

  14. bills_fan_in_raleigh. Another out-of-towner that loves the Bills and amazingly spends the money to come to every home game. I just don't get it. Why have you abandoned Western New York if you love the Bills so much?? Is this the official "We love the Bills but Buffalo sucked so much we don't live there anymore" fan forum??

And why, why do all of you need to freakin' have your city you live in on your ID or avatar, like it is a badge of honor??

On behalf of all true blue Buffalo fans that still live in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Niagra Falls, and any other town in Western New York....even as far east as Albany and of course Southern Ontario, I would like to say I am really sick and tired of you great Bills fans who brag about living in other cities. Sure it's cool that you love the Bills and take the time to post on this site and spend the money to retain season tickets and come home for the games. Congratulations.

But the fact that you all seem to need all of us to know you don't live around here anymore doesn't impress me, it really pisses me off. It's like you are saying, "hey I love the Bills, but all of you that still live in Western New York are crazy, man....I'm cool because I live in Atlanta, or Phoenix or Raleigh, and I escaped the rust belt hole with the bad weather you continue to live in, and that's why I have my cool city's name on my id so you all know I live there."

You know what, cool out of towners? You could be posting every single message you have posted, and it would be just as funny, angry, sarcastic or vulgar, and we would all post back in kind, even if we didn't know you lived in freakin' paradise!

I live in Pittsburgh, but there is know way that I am using anything remotley connected to PGH, or their sports team in my ID or Avatar, and it is a nice town and everything, but my heart is in Buffalo. It wouldn't make any differnce if I lived in friggin Hawaii, I would be to ashamed to do that, as a matter of fact I would just prefer pretending that I still lived in Buffalo, it is my badge of honor, and I haven't lived their in 39 years. Best city in the country.

  15. Not really a shock...I do believe they fire Turk though, which is still a step in the right direction because he was a joke...

Maybe next year when DJ has another losing season we fire him and bring in Cowher who will be ready to coach again then.

You know, I thought the same thing, maybe we could get Kelly and his group to pull the trigger, offer Cowher some

minority ownership interest in the team to sweeten the deal, and full control, gotta love the chin.Go Bills! I am all for trying

    anything to kill the pain.

  16. I agree with the concensus here. We'd be better off, for example, drafting his WR and TE at Oklahoma to provide Trent Edwards targets in the passing game. Oh, by the way, throw in a quality center while we're at it!!

NEXT YEEARS DRAFT PEOPLE, NOT THE ONE UPCOMING.

  17. i can see the comparison. bengals had a good coach in the 80's with wyche, the bills had a good coach at the time in levy/phillips. when those coaches were replaced, both teams brought in enept useless coaches....bungles had david shula, followed by bruce coslet and dick lebeau. the bills had greg williams followed by meathead marlarky. the bungles now have marvin lewis who was suppost to be a good coach and bring the team back to a respectful level, and he did do that if only for one season. the bills have dick whom make us sick with poor clock management, horrible play calls, and is too soft on the players.

so to recap, both teams have had former head coaches who proved to suck, both teams have hired offensive and defensive cordinators with no head coaching history, and both teams had a couple of dick's as coaches.

the bungles were the laughing stock of the league for over 10 years, and as luck would have it, ralph wilson has had success in turning the bills into the same.

fire everyone!!!!!! save for bobby april

I think that comparing us to the Bengals is really a big slight......on them.

  18. Hey Guys!

With or without Dick I personally dont think were far away from being a serious contender. I think we need to SELL Peters and buy another young O lineman or 2. We need a Veteran QB to help guide Trent... Kurt Warner and Kerry Collins will be available... I like Kurt.

We need a DE... A Bruce Smith type. Add the return of Shobel and Crowell (biggest missing piece this year) and our defence is MUCH better... Quick pressure makes our D top 10.

We need a TE.. I like Leonard Pope from AZ

We could go for a big play WR like TJ Howsyermamma from Cinci.

Heres the Free Agents available that i think can make an impact for us

    Defensive End....

    Julius Peppers

    Albert Haynesworth

    Terrell Suggs

    Bertrand Berry

    QB....

    Kurt Warner

    Jeff Garcia

    Kyle Boller

    Charlie Batch

    WR....

    T.J. Houshmandzadeh

    Bobby Engram

    Devery Henderson

    Shaun McDonald

    Tight Ends Available.

    Owen Daniels, UFA, Houston Texans

    Will Heller, UFA, Seattle Seahawks

Eric Johnson, UFA, New Orleans Saints

    Jeff King, RFA, Carolina Panthers

    Jim Kleinsasser, UFA, Minnesota Vikings

    Leonard Pope, UFA, Arizona Cardinals

    Daniel Wilcox, UFA, Baltimore Ravens

    L.J. Smith, UFA, Philadelphia

    Bo Scaife, UFA, Tennessee

    Linebackers... (I like Mike Peterson)

    Ray Lewis, UFA, Baltimore Ravens

Eric Barton, UFA, New York Jets

    Karlos Dansby, UFA, Arizona Cardinals

    Mike Peterson, UFA, Jacksonville Jaguars

    Bart Scott, UFA, Baltimore Ravens

Jonathan Vilma, UFA, New Orleans Saints

Did you catch the Arizona-New England game recently, Warner looked like Dogsh%t, we need a cold weather QB, Warner,

IMO, would be a horrible pick-up.

  19. I'd take Superman with the first pick...I think he could be the tall, strong receiver we've been looking for. I hear he has a nice vertical.

In the second round I'd go with Wolverine, I think him at DE would really improve our pass rush.

Then maybe Lex Luther in the third round, I'd throw him in as Head Coach.

Uh, you missed the post about cartoon characters, and which one reminded you most about the Bills, it was a couple of weeks ago, you really need to stay with us here. BTW my pick was Underdog.
