  1. I really don't like that argument. It's too abstract. Everything we're discussing is man made. There are natural tendencies within capitalism, which is what I was referring to. An economy can be a very predictable science, I'm not doubting that it isn't natural. That doesn't change that its the system that I feel most comfortable with, and the one that I feel is the best (as proven by the transitional economic theory: [countries that shifted from socialism after the cold war, or nations in africa developing have shown an economic surplus, and an increased standard of living]).
  2. Overbearing? That doesn't apply at all. How was he being arrogant? Ignorant maybe, but overbearing...I dunno.
  3. Yeah but trickle down is only one form that you're pointing out. It's just a phrase used to explain why not taxing heavily on the upper class will be more effective. Look at it this way, the biggest loser in the redistribution of wealth is the middle class. You spend too much time worrying about the upper class running away with your money, that you don't realize that the hard working Americans are getting their assess taxed off to pay for loads of sh*t they don't use.
  4. Well yeah that's fairly accurate. We have government regulations so we can't go too far to the right, and we still have some semblance of a free market so we can't go too far to the left. The only reason people panic though (and rightfully so in my opinion) is that the way that the economy has progressed since the 1930's hasn't been natural. We didn't need to implement a healthcare bill. But we did. When you introduce more and more not natural policies, eventually you destroy the nature of our capitalist economy. We're still a ways from that, but its about 80 years of slowly shifting away from center.
  5. This isn't me hitting the panic button here. Don't look at me as a conservative when I explain this to you. There is an economic spectrum, and we're clearly heading left of center. It's irrefutable.
  6. I just spent the last six minutes and watched that for the first time. I feel like a stronger man now, thank you.
  7. I believe its hidden in the word "technicality", although I wouldn't be too frank about it.
  8. What happens in the technicality that Obama doesn't run again? I think DC Tom's avatar should be involved.
  9. In Obamare you don't pay the government. The government pays you! ...oh wait.
  10. Quite frankly I wont hear them anyways. I'm not fond of 3rdnlng's username. Too many weird abbreviations. Why take away the "o" in long? It's just one letter.
  11. If that was a dick joke, kudos. I knew you had it in you.
  12. But seriously, the world would probably end. Not just because we get our credit demoted to AA... ...but because it will probably be 2012 when that happens.
  13. Just switch the routine up a little, that's all I'm asking.
  14. We just came off of voting for the most ridiculous named candidate ever. I'm shooting for something really crazy next elections. Who knows what we've got left in the tank?
  15. That's like the 500th time you've made the sarcastic self-incriminating joke. I realize that you're going for that whole "I'm a rebel because I don't give a f*ck" image, but it's really not that clever.
  16. Looks like someone just got done watching Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2
  17. None of us are picking on you. I don't know why you get the impression that having a different opinion entitles you to an even argument. Not every debate is level. This one has a great deal of pros and cons on each side, but the cons on the left aren't being weighted by the amount of people against you. It appears weighted because you haven't refuted any of the arguments we've made. Because of that it seems like we're teaming up on you.
  18. See the thing is, these negative nancies aren't nearly as bad as you make them out to be. They're not yelling at you like a 2002 liberal would a bush supporter. They're asking you questions. And you're refusing to answer them. All of them. In the end it makes the negative nancies look a lot less bad, and the guys laughing in the corner really stupid.
  19. You could do that, or you could prove him wrong and explain a little bit about this bill that you're so confident about.
  20. April 1st is around the corner Tom, I think you're on to something.
  21. I think we should leave the car insurance example alone. Clearly the big cat made a mistake. Let's give him time to research the next angle.
  22. I'm just saying that you're braver than I am, that's all.
