Every streaming service increases their rate every couple years. Netflix just did the same thing and didn't even bother providing an excuse. It's how all these companies plan to make money in the long run. Operate at a loss for a few years, build a massive customer base, keep that customer base while slowly increasing the rate until they become profitable.

Netflix doesn't carry NFL games that I know of. But they do spend a shitload of money sending out useless crap to  entertainment writers.

  2. Amazon is raising the price of Prime membership by $20 a year. They're citing the cost of its exclusive deal to televise Thursday Night Football. I know that it works out to $1.3333333333 (ad infinitum) per game for the 15 games Prime will broadcast, but I find Thursday night games to be less than compelling. It irks me that I'm forced to pay for something I rarely watch.

    They lost to the JETS.

    WRONG. It was he Jags

    Ergo credibility

Citing the wrong team doesn't change the score, or the threat to the team's standing in the AFC East that the loss created. That was the point.

    so far so good 😊

    🤔 Fight and claw?

    aaand there goes their credibility

Selective editing, my friend. Here's more from that story:

But before earning a date with the Chiefs, the Bills had to fight and claw their way into the playoffs.

The Bills lost to two non-playoff teams in the New York Jets in Week 9 by a score of 9-6 in and Indianapolis Colts in Week 11 by a score of 41-15. A Week 13 loss to the New England Patriots at home put Buffalo in danger of losing its grip of the AFC East division, and an overtime loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14 put the team’s playoff hopes in jeopardy altogether.

Buffalo rebounded over the next four weeks with four-straight wins over the Carolina Panthers, Patriots in New England, Atlanta Falcons and New York Jets.

... but at least this year they’ll be travelling to Arrowhead Stadium knowing that they’re capable of taking down Mahomes when it matters most.

That poor dress shirt that Ted Johnson is squeezed into....working overtime!

Actually, I enjoyed this clip. The guy with the ill-fitting white shirt clearly explained how Josh Allen recognized the zone coverage on the 45-yard pass to Diggs and responded appropriately.

  6. If I recall, the big knock against Allen when he was drafted was that his "accuracy" was not very good ...  and those naysayers claimed accuracy could not be taught. I guess the argument was that accuracy was some sort of innate skill or talent that only God could bestow. Well, the Bills' brain trust saw a baller and decided he could become a franchise QB. Not every front office can  cut though the baloney and see the talent lying below the surface.

The question then becomes, which teams had the patience (and luxury) to develop a raw talent into a HOF candidate. Apparently, only one. And damn I'm glad the Bills were the one.

  7. Reminds me of the self-serving bozo who suggested in 2010 that fans invest in bonds to help a future owner finance the purchase of the team.

Back then, when everyone was totally convinced that the team would be moved to God-knows-where, this knucklehead suggested that fans basically give their money to a prospective buyer. From the Buffalo News: "Under ... the plan, fans would loan money to the next owner of the Buffalo Bills by purchasing low-interest bonds -- called Bills Bonds -- that would reduce a new owner's often-choking interest payments."
