  1. And just like every other football rumor, we will never actually know what the truth is. If they aren't going to say WHICH teams wanted to trade a 3rd for Lynch, what good is the rumor?

    Face it, the guy who will do the most good proving this kind of rumor incorrect is Nix, when it comes time to make more deals and he makes them, and then those deals pan out, maybe a year, two years later....

    You guys are just serving to give the rest of us ulcers for no reason.

  2. This reeks of Green Bay damage control. I find it hard to believe that an NFL GM was so enamored with Marshawn Lynch, a player who's been on the trade block for the last 6 months, that he was willing to give up a 3rd round pick or better BUT ONLY if the Bills contact them first. I doubt it. This is the typical blind item BS that guys like Glazer, Schefter, and Mort peddle just to justify their paychecks.

    You have no idea how bad I hope you're right. <puts razor down>

  3. I wish someone would just buy this team and move them to LA or Las Vegas or Shmoakin Dam so I don't have to go to any more of these games. I am not a conspiracy theory guy - I have had season tiks for 10 years and have been a lifelong fan - I am convinced that someone is deliberately killing this team so they will move. The Kelsay deal from last week confirmed it for me.

    I'm !@#$ing sure as I have ever been about anything that was Wilson 100%. No way Nix and Gailey wanted to do that extension, no way in !@#$ing hell. Only person on planet earth who'd be that sentimental and stupid to do that deal is Ralph Wilson. And NOT to ruin the team, but because he simply believes that he should be able to decide on a whole ton of things regarding the team and they should just win, anyway. That's how he's always been.

  4. The way I see it is simple. Ralph Wilson cares more about being involved in EVERYTHING going on with his team than he cares about actually winning. Everything he's done since grudgingly setting up shop in Buffalo basically proves that. Oh he hired Bill Polian, though, you say, and yeah, that looks smart, but the fact that he FIRED him for basically calling out ANOTHER know-nothing (yes, Ralph's daughter, whom he hired to be in charge of scouting, if I'm not mistaken, when she knew as little about football as her stupid father but obviously shared his penchant for choosing self-importance over success of the franchise). I'm calling Bill Polian's tenure in Buffalo a happy accident, and until someone shows me decisive proof that this theory is incorrect, I'm sticking to it.

    Face it, the Wilson family cares more about the Wilson family than they do the fans of Buffalo. And they pretty much say so whenever they are pinned down with the right questions. Too bad for us, with the Buffalo media the way they are, that is a rarity.

  5. I'm on board with the purge too but I'm absolutely mystified as to why they're not purging Kelsay. Rather, they gave him a sizable contract extension. I continue to be baffled by this and struggle with it. He's old, under-performs, has no idea what he's doing, and has no business even starting on any NFL team.

    Exactly. Anyone daring to compare the Bills with the Pats with their recent decisions needs to remember that extension and realize that there is no way in HELL the Pats would have done that Kelsay deal. No way in hell.

  6. I used to believe the premise set forth by the OP. But I feel that I understand Ralph Wilson better now, and I am fully convinced that, had he ever received an offer to move the team to a place where he could be assured of making more money, he'd have moved them already.

  7. I don't know that we'll ever have teams again like we had in the SB years but those teams took time to build

    Kelly and Talley drafted in 1983 (Kelly didnt sign till 86)

    Bruce and Andre drafted in 1985

    Will Wolford drafted in 1986

    Kent Hull was signed in 1986

    Thurman was drafted in 1988

    The Cornelius trade took place in 1987 and Shane Conlan was drafted in 1987

    The 84 draft didnt yield anyone outside of Greg Bell who never did much and John Kidd the punter

    we were 8-8 in 83, 2-14 in 84 and 85, 4-12 in 86, 7-8 in 87, 12-4 in 88, and 9-7 in 89 then things really took off

    I know Nix is no Polian but assuming and this is a Big assumption, that Buddy is left alone to make his own moves, is given a few years, and chooses players well its still going to take some time....

    That being said, I'm as frustrated at watching this team as everyone else on the board....

    DINGDINGDING!! Big "IF" there, though. My money is on now way in Hell Ralph allows another man to come into his house and ignore him the way Polian did. Not a chance. Face it, the "time" this will take to right itself is the time it takes for Ralph to sell the team.

  8. Really? To what city? If you say Los Angeles I'm gonna pee laughing. Remember the LA Raiders? Anyone? And take LA out of the hunt, what city gave Ralph a better chance of cashing in over entertainment-starved WNY? Answer. Nowhere. The team hasn't moved because no place made sense to move it to. If it did, Ralph woulda moved it, regardless of the fan support. See Art Modell.

  9. Another "I'm done with this team thread". How original.

    I'm as pessimistic as anyone, but I was born in 1980. I'm 30 years old. There are posters who are older and much wiser who will tell you the 70's and early 80's were way worse than now. And ya know what? They didn't cry and jump ship. They stuck with this team because it's THEIR team. It sucks to be awful, but you can't win every season. You can't even make the playoffs every decade. But you still follow your team. When they do finally win, how sweet it will be for those of us who bitched and moaned, but never even considered jumping ship. Get over it. This team is a bunch of untalented losers. But their OUR untalented losers.

    I am one of those older guys, at 40 years old, and all I can say to this is, we were good for like six years, DESPITE the owner, because the guy he hired at GM didn't listen to him and did what he wanted. The day Ralph fired Bill Polian, I'm fairly certain he told himself that he would never make that "mistake" again. He likes to hang around making football decisions and only yes-men are allowed in his fold. Face it, we're doomed to root for a ****ty football team for as long as Ralph owns the team.

  10. So:

    1) Nix is a football dumbass;

    2) Chargers weren't good, just lucky, particulary over the time Nix was there;

    3) Our coach and GM don't agree on football operations;

    4) The Bills draft choices the last ten years have been just fine, but the organization failed them;

    5) We're not rebuilding, we just suck. No thought is being given to the future.

    Really. That is just asinine. Expecially #4! You go right ahead and defend all those steller picks my friend. You lost me from the beginning but you are so out of step with reality on that one that you lose all credibility. Why don't you just say your p*ssed off like the rest of us and lose the crazy "Palidinoesque" logic.

    This.
