I think the one Watt attempted on Josh that just barely missed was even more "vicious."  A direct hit on the ball with that punch move is going to dislodge it the majority of the time.

I'm actually curious what the boundary is between a good play and a penalty. Can a player attempt to punch a ball out, miss, and strike that player in the chest, or arm, or head? How is punching someone under the guise of going for the ball still legal? I want to know the actual difference or the cut off boundary that it would be called a penalty. If Jerry Hughes did that exact same thing to Tom Brady and missed the ball and struck Brady in the chest would he be flagged?

  2. I had zero interest in Metcalf because of his one dimensionality. And as a fan of Beane and our current scouting department and seeing their genuine worry about possibly losing Ford when another team traded ahead of them and then their joy when they got him, I am willing to give the "experts" the benefit of the doubt. But this post did get me thinking a little bit about guys I did like and how I had no idea how they are currently doing. So it got me to do a little research. I'm not much of a 20/20 hindsite type of guy. It is what it is. The past can't be changed. If it could we'd all be lottery winners. But I was curious about the 2 guys I did like and by some accounts they're both doing well.

I'm not trying to stir up any more controversy. I'm still willing to wait and see with Ford. I do love his passion and willingness to defend his teammates and QB. I'm just saying we can't draft everyone. We can't have every good player. We can't hit on every single draft pick. Or get them all "exactly" right. But I for one have complete faith in Beane, Dan Morgan, and the rest of our scouting staff. My bigger fear is losing Dan Morgan or other members of our scouting staff as the years pass. They are all on one page, all have a vision, and all finally "get it."

I think Drew Rosenhaus needs an intervention at this point this can't be good for his health.

I think Drew Rosenhaus and his wife are doing just fine...

Drew Rosenhaus net worth: Drew Rosenhaus is a famous sports agent who has a net worth of $65 million. With a net worth like that, it's no wonder he's one of the more famous football agents to the general public.

Bravo!  Thank you for taking the time to post this!!!  I usually just shake my head at posts like that....seriously, kudos!!!!

For me, it's just another person added to my blocked list. I come to this site to learn about and be encouraged about the team I love. I don't get other people's motivation for coming here. If you're seriously that negative then go find something that you might actually enjoy or find a dead cat to kick or something to make yourself feel better.

This is where I always go with friends to tailgate, it's a solid smaller lot right next to the FBI and an easy walk to the stadium. Doesn't get too packed(it is the Browns) Also seems to be good location to avoid traffic.

I think I'm going to try this... Thank you so much to everyone for all the information and suggestions.

  6. Going to the Cleveland game with a couple friends. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Suggestions on when on Friday we should leave Buffalo. On which lot we should park in. If tailgating, drinking, and grills are allowed. When the lots actually open for tailgating. If Bills fans use a certain lot. Fighting traffic. Anything at all that may be useful. Thanks in advance. Go Bills!!

His circumstances remind me a little of Jason Peters. He came to the Bills as an undrafted tight end.

I would like to play him as safety some next time we play Gronkowski. I would tell everybody he is Tre White's big brother.

Anyway I am such and amateur but geeze I would get him. I think he has the look that some really few good players that I saw in person have had. He is normally proportioned, but big. Usually big guys are built a bit different but he is shaped like a regular guy, just half again as big. And he moves like a smaller man. That combo is a really good one. He would be on the practice squad for at least a year.

Anyway he might have flaws that would show up in a up close look. But gee isn't it worth a spot on the practice squad to take a chance on a guy like him?

I actually don't see a problem with trying with a guy like this. Putting him on the practice squad and seeing what he can do. He is definitely very athletic. How is it different than asking Jason Peters to learn a completely different position. Or JJ Watt for that matter switching from tight end to defensive end. Guys have switched sports or positions for years. Some positions are much easier to learn than others. I would rather try a guy that may have unlimited upside over one of a hundred other guys that all have ability within 1% of each other. My question is I don't even know if he's draftable or signable. He's only 20, and he has to be out of high school for 3 years so it would depend on when he graduated. How could it hurt to at least send a scout and try him out.

To the OP, if you can’t shorten up you’re post, a lot of people. Will not read it. I made the same mistake when I was new to TBD.

I disagree. I rarely post on this message board but I check it and read it almost hourly and have for a dozen years. This is exactly the type of post that I come to TBD hoping to find and to be able to read. I am beyond sick of people complaining about multiple "similar" postings or worried about 'posting counts'  and that being a determining factor in an individuals credibility or love for the Bills. In fact I almost prefer new postings so i don't have to scroll through 80 pages of mostly nonsense. I compliment this poster, and would like to say thank you for your effort and insight and please continue the good work. I have liked Rudolph for over a year and have predicted him to be the Bills choice for just as long. Thanks again.

  9. I'm the one who extended it to Whaley and I stand by that. I continue to believe that the decision to pass on Jack was short-sighted. I was banging the table for him at the time, and I still am - his ceiling is much higher than Ragland's. I'm concerned about the strategic approach to this year's draft - to me, the top two picks were based on need and scheme fit - and not overall talent. As some like BADOL have said, you don't use top draft picks to fill needs. You use them to select star players. Whaley and Rex seemed like they were drafting for their short-term job security this year, and I'm not ok with that. (And as far as irony goes, it has already blown up in their faces.)

I don't think Ragland is even relevant in your argument. He was taken with the 41st pick after the Bills traded up 8 spots with Chicago giving up two 4ths in the process. Buffalo contacted every team in the second round starting with Cleveland attempting to move up and Chicago was the first taker. So Buffalo couldn't have gotten Jack with their second round pick. Then the question becomes should they have drafted him with their first round pick instead of Shaq Lawson? This is the Myles Jack that every single team in the first round passed on. So if we were wrong, everyone else was wrong as well.

  10.

    I'll go on record.

    EJ will make the team.

EJ will start this year for the Bills in at least one game.

Those are definitive to me. I still think EJ starts week 1.

No edits let's see how poor I am at projections....

I agree 100%. Everyone is resigned to the fact that EJ is out because he has been practicing with the 3rd team and Cassel and Tyrod are in because they have been with the 1's and 2's. How about consider that the complete opposite is true. They already know they are keeping EJ so are giving the other 2 players most of the quality reps to decide which among those 2 will be kept as well. That is my thinking. I guess we will see. My bet is he stays. And starts.
