  1. I'm in Akron with Dish Network. Why is the game not listed on channel 4 and NFL Network says "Broadcast unavailable in your area."? Says BIG3 basketball on channel 4 at 1. Is it just a mistake? Anyone know? I'm recording BIG3 with the hope it's the Bills game.

I think this is a serious question - so I will attempt to clarify.

I am averaging information from various sources regarding performance / potential of these rookies. I have followed the TC reports (and minicamp info) of these six on a daily basis - but just summarized them in a few lines each for the post. I have also watched every preseason snap for those that played.

you are right that three of the rookies did not play in the preseason. But a. I have also been following them through TC and, b. availability is the first ability and two of them could not suit up due to injury, which is a knock on them. We all remember what happened with Shaq Lawson as a rookie, no? Turner was held out deliberately despite an impressive second week of TC ( he had two sacks in just one Saints practice against Hil / Winston) and my ranking reflects that - he is not being penalized for not playing.

Diminishing returns is an economic concept and Gunner was disputing it by talking about sample size which is a stats issue and can’t speak to the validity of diminishing returns of information. I don’t think there is any dispute at all on the small sample size.  I already acknowledged the sample size issue in the title.

The ranking is no doubt a subjective opinion, can it be anything else at this point?

I think I got it after the first 5 times. Who cares? I like and appreciate the evaluations but don't need endless explanations on how you justify them.

Not only does Wade have incredible carries in short limited action, he can catch the ball and run through 3 defenders for 30 yards+ . I’d much rather have that threat than someone playing special teams 5 plays out of a game with a punter that pins people with big hangtime.

So let me get this straight. You're pushing all your chips in on a 30 year old rb that has never previously played football before to somehow help "save" the Bills. On his "incredible" carries? You're completely basing this decision on his 8 carries and 4 receptions that he had in 3 preseason games 2 years ago? Your basing this decision on his 65 yard run in the 4th quarter in a preseason game against Indianapolis Colt scrubs who had never ever seen this player before? Or on his 48 yard reception in the 4th quarter of another preseason game against Carolina Panther scrubs? Is that your reasoning for crowning him the next Adrian Peterson? Or do you take into account his other 7 runs for 19 yards and a 2.7 yd average? Or his other 3 receptions for a total of 7 yards and his 2.3 yd average? Mind you his amazing averages were all against scrubs as well. This is what you base your bold predictions on? Or the fact that he's never made the active roster? That he's been cut twice and no other team has picked him up?  Do you know what his stats are in college? 0 rushes for 0 yards and 0 touchdowns. What about the NFL regular season? That's easy too! 0 rushes for 0 yards and 0 touchdowns.

But you don't consider or lend any credence to the fact that Devin Singletary has been playing football his entire life. He's played in college and the pros. In one year of college he had 33 touchdowns and 1900 yds rushing!! 33!! That's 32 rushing and 1 receiving. In 3 years of college he had 66 rushing touchdowns. That's a 22 touchdown per year average. And he had a 6 yard per rush average! And he's a phenomenal blocker. Oh and he happens to be in the best shape of his life. But you wanna trade him or say he's garbage. You'd much rather have a guy that's never played in high school, college, or an actual regular season game? Someone that no other GM in the league has wanted and that Brandon Beane hasn't activated once?  All I can say is I'm thrilled that you have absolutely no say in the Bills decision making.

  5. I don't get the infatuation with Bar Bill or Duffs. I've been to both places multiple times and have never had wings that can hold a candle to La Novas wings. Especially La Nova BBQ wings from the Pit. But you have to go to the La Novas on West Ferry.

As for pizza, I've never gotten better pizza than at Imperial on Abbott. I'm infatuated with it. Someone mentioned the pepperoni and they weren't kidding.

I actually hate mentioning either of these restaurants as the best because I don't want to let too many people know. But in my opinion they are by far the best. I would drive 50 miles for either one.

Skip Bar Bill, Duffs and Anchor Bar to avoid a substandard experience. I've never had Bocce pizza but have heard good things about it.

Leave it to Bills fans to complain about a player working out too much, maintaining a strict diet, and improving his overall physical fitness. I'm sure if it was something the training staff and coaches didn't want him to do, they would have told him months ago.

You can make the case that OJ was the first victim of cancel culture.  His football achievements were conspicuously ignored due to the fact that he was a vicious, brutal knife murderer.  There is even talk that his name should come off the Bills' ring of honor.  Not recognizing his achievements -- the only RB to get 2000 yards in a 14 game season, dominating the league for three or four years as the obvious MVP -- can only be due to people not wanting to honor a killer that way.  But that's not what this list was about.

So what's the cut off? Is there one? When does a person's off field actions affect his on field performance? A "brutal knife murderer" doesn't yet meet the qualification? Does anything then? What about rape? What about blowing up the Federal Building? Or flying airplanes into the World Trade Center? Should any off field actions by a player affect what he did previously on the field? If Osama Bin Laden ran for 2000 yards should he be on the Wall of Fame? What about Hitler? I'm just trying to figure out if killing and nearly decapitating 2 people is not enough to warrant some kind of censure then what does warrant it?  What about child molestation? Nothing at all justifies your so called "cancel culture?"

When did Jordan ever sacrifice money for 'winning' like you claim? He held the record for the most money for 15 years which is unheard of.. Jordan may have liked winning a great deal, but your claim he sacrificed money for it is not accurate.

The ranking position of Brady's salary. Was he the 10th highest paid QB in each of those years? 5th? How did you not get that?

When did I EVER say Michael Jordan sacrificed money for winning? This is the entire extent of my Michael Jordan conversation. But you're obsessed with it. 2 sentences asking hypothetically what was most important to Jordan? That winning has always been his biggest driving force in life. Where did I say he EVER sacrificed ANYTHING!!!??? Where did I EVER say he didn't get paid? Or that he took less money than he wanted or deserved? When did I EVER say anything even remotely close to that? I asked what's most important to Michael Jordan. It was a QUESTION. But somehow you infer from a QUESTION that I somehow said Michael Jordan sacrificed money for winning. Like I said, work on your reading comprehension.

When does winning take precedent for some players over an extra couple million? Would Michael Jordan rather win or have a bigger contract? Jordan's primary driving force in life is winning.

And now for the helpless and obtuse I'll post rankings so maybe you'll have a clue.

    TOM BRADY QB PAY RANK/year

    2012.    17th

    2013.     5th

    2014.    12th

    2015.     14th

    2016.     18th

    2017.      20th

    2018.     11th

    2019.     11th

Is that good enough? Or do you need even more?

I see you decided to ignore that your Jordan example was horrendously, wrong.

You give dollar values and not position. How are the years that he won the superbowl relevant? Do you think listing out those years makes it look more impressive? You also seem to ignore that because 1 guy in NFL History may have done it that it's a given that some other player will do it.

Why are you trying so hard to look so silly?

My Jordan example is wrong how? Everyone on planet earth knows that winning is the most important thing in life to Michael Jordan. Everyone that is, except you. Did I say Michael Jordan took a small contract? Did I say Michael Jordan took less money then he was worth? Did I say Michael Jordan took a team friendly contract? I didn't say anything at all about what Michael Jordan took. I asked a simple question. What is more important to Michael Jordan, winning or a bigger contract? Maybe you should try and work on your reading comprehension and stop trying so hard to look silly. Because you're doing a great job of it.

And I give dollar values but not position? What are you talking about? It's a post about Tom Brad's salary. In case you didn't know, his position is quarterback! And yes talking about Brady, the greatest quarterback of all time, taking less money at the position quarterback is entirely relevant since Josh Allen plays the same position. Brady likes to win. Josh Allen wants to win. Brady took less money not because he doesn't like money or he has enough. He took less money because he wants to break every record that ever stood and yes, he wants to win above all else.

And when did I ever say it was a "given" Josh Allen would do this? The entire post is a hypothetical question. The entire post is everyone offering opinions on what he may do. Show me where I said anywhere in this entire post that it's a given Josh Allen does this. The only person that said Josh would take a team friendly deal was Brandon Beane.  "Josh is a competitor. He's not wired for us just to pay him, then not be able to put stuff around him." The Buffalo Bills GM said this! Did he make it up? Did he say it out of the clear blue? Or did he say it with insider information on his side? Do you really think he would make that statement without already hearing that from Josh Allen's own mouth? Do you know more than the Buffalo Bills GM? You just keep making yourself look silly.

    1. Brady at age 43 doesn't dictate the salaries of young franchise QBs

The NFLPA has long held this position and prioritized max dollar deals without regard for it's affect on other players.

I'm not talking about Brady at age 43.

    Tom Brady average salary

    2005-2010.   $10,700,000

    2010-2014.    $18,000,000

    2013-2017.     $13,667,000

    2015-2017.     $9,000,000

    2016-2019.    $20,500,000

    2018-2019.    $15,000,000

    2019.              $23,000,000

His salary actually went down dramatically for a number of years. And it was never close to being one of the top QB salaries in the league. For possibly the best quarterback in history who won Superbowl in the following years.

    2002, 2004, 2005, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2021

    You've got a surprise coming!

You folk living in a fairy land that Josh is gonna sign for 30-35 a year (or less) are in for a rude awakening. Even if Josh was open to it, there will be many people telling him to not be an idiot. On top of his friends, family and agent there is the NFLPA who put s a lot of pressure on players to not take 'discounts' and go to the max dollar value possible. If Allen takes a discount and let's just say it's 35 then that means the other QBs around the league now are probably looking at falling in behind him.

So did all these same people tell Brady he was an idiot? Brady, the GOAT, who was playing for probably half of what he could have, did he dictate the future salaries of the rest of the quarterbacks?  Did the NFLPA put pressure on Brady and force him not to accept his contract? I don't believe so, those other salaries kept rising, making us aware that Brady was actually playing for less than his worth. Did his agents not want the money? Did he have bad agents? I have no idea what Josh might accept, the question is merely would he take a team discount. Our GM who has a pretty good track record and knows Josh Allen much better than probably you do is saying that exact thing. So who's right? I never once said Josh would accept 30 million, I said, how much money is enough for someone? When does winning take precedent for some players over an extra couple million? Would Michael Jordan rather win or have a bigger contract? Jordan's primary driving force in life is winning. Josh has that same driving force, on top of being a farmer that honestly cares about other people and his teammates. Beane even knows this. I would even go as far as to say that Beane probably would have never made that statement publicly unless Josh Allen had hinted it to Beane or even outright told him.

    • Haha (+1) 1
    • Thank you (+1) 1
  12. This can't be possible. Beane would never say this. Josh is not wired like that. And he would never accept a team friendly deal to increase his team's chance for success. At least that's what I was told on here.

    https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/josh-allen-contract-extension-bills-gm-brandon-beane-says-he-wants-to-get-a-deal-done-sooner-than-later/

"We want him to be happy, and obviously, we want it to be a deal where we can still put talented players around him because Josh is a competitor. He's not wired for us just to pay him, then not be able to put stuff around him. So we'll try and find that deal that works for him and works for us."
