Benford was an outlier given his draft position (we drafted a punter before him) and about half of first round picks are busts. Odds of that happening again are slim. Just because Elam was a swing and a miss doesn't mean you take another swing. I think they draft at least one with their first three picks and then one in the later rounds.
One of the first three picks is fine, but to think it has to be the first is misguided. I agree also taking one later.
14 hours ago, SoCal Deek said:I have no idea how you put that logic chain together. CB is a four down starting position in the NFL, and you need TWO of them. We currently have one. You believe we should roll some mid-round rookie out there? Would you say the same for any other four down position either on offense or defense?
I think CB is proving to be one of the least difficult positions for this team to fill. It all starts with the line. Then build up the middle, lastly is the corners. So to answer your question, corner is the least priority position in this defense.

People saying if the Bills don’t do anything a CB means they are drafting CB first seem to miss the irony of that statement. The Bills just traded a first round CB and have a top 5 CB starting who they drafted in the 6th. The Bills can find a CB pretty much anywhere in the draft, relax.

Didn’t we hope the Cowboys to draft Elam?
Makes sense they are the trade partner.
Think that was Dalton Kincaid

Wow. It is a swing for sure. I like that it's 1 year, he will be motivated to perform and earn one more big contract. This means the Hendrickson idea is dead.
Any idea what side Bosa predominantly plays and/or excels at? I heard Joe Marino mention Hendrickson was a RDE which pairs well with Rousseau

Hendrickson would be the best move we can make at this point, for sure. I remain skeptical that Cincy would trade him to us but I would like the move.
The reason I bring up Holland is we have all this available money and nothing to spend it on. It feels like a waste not to use all of our resources in this championship window. He's the only big ticket item I see remaining that makes sense for our roster, although I'm not in love with the idea of spending big at the safety position.
Ward I don't consider a splash move per se. I would be fine with it though. My preference is a cheap vet and then draft one high but there's a clear need there. Is Benford in their long term plans? If not then I would be more in favor of signing Ward, but if he is then I'd rather not have two expensive CBs under contract at the same time.
If there is a franchise who would trade them to an In conference opponent it would by Mike Brown.

First numbers released are by the agent. Let’s wait to see the details.

Hopefully Ed plays with a chip on his shoulder. Obviously the chiefs trust Caliendo. Remember the bengals with backups handled our d line pretty well.
Hopefully this team is taking nothing for granted
Yep. Eddie O’s play will go a long way in deciding this game. Need to get pressure on Mahomes with 4. This is the weakest oline the Bills have played all postseason, it needs to look that way tomorrow.

The chiefs talking heads are talking about the players THEY did not have the regular season matchup.
Hey, we did that last week and it showed against Baltimore. Both teams weren’t at 100% in the regular season. I forget, was Brown out against KC during the regular season?
3 hours ago, gordong said:I think Edwards is the weakest link on the line right now and that is saying something... because he's still pretty darn good. would like to see Torrance drop a little weight in the off season nd I think he can be the best interior guy.
both tackle spots are set with studs and mcGovern is set as well I think.
And I think Edwards is an average starting caliber guard. This is an impressive group on oline. If they stay healthy we got a great shot to win the whole thing. Two more games!

I remember Kelce’s sarcastic clap. This time it’s for all the marbles.
I hope this is played for the team. It was a, “ oh good for you guys, but this doesn’t matter, we will own you again In the playoffs”…

I'm not worried about the KC defense having a blueprint tbh. I do need them to get Cooper involved more.
Even if you think KC has similar personnel as Baltimore on D and will try the things Baltimore did, then it is on Brady to have an answer. There is always a solution. I wanted to see more plays downfield and outside, we heard all week how boundary corners were the weakness of the Baltimore D. I’d give Brady a B- in play calling. Need A games next week from everyone.

Josh and Brady need to get on the same page this quarter.

Interesting no Codrington for returns. Glad Davis is good to go!

We all have someone we wish we could have the opportunity to share a Bills Super Bowl winning hug with that are no longer here. Some are grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles, etc.. Some of us lost friends or siblings that we thought we’d have more time and opportunities with to see the Bills holdup the Lombardi. And for some of us, we might be entering into that, “one before I die” place in our lifespan. We never know when our time will come, just like in sports you never know if you will ever get another shot. Hope our guys are ready to meet the moment and make the most out of this opportunity! I think they are, seems like a special year.
Go Bills!!

A gorgeous outcome. They scored right out of the gate and the Bills completely shut them down over 60 minutes like an absolute bully. It wasn’t perfect but they wore them down and dictated everything after that initial score. It was a total statement win by the bills. And unlike the Steelers who the ravens only beat by 14, the broncos were coming in hot, playing their best football.
And the ravens will still probably get all the hype this week and if we are lucky they will make us a home dog.
Please, please, please let the line favor Baltimore.

Because the Bills have a mediocre defense and an awful special teams. The Bills offense is going up against a very good defense.
This game isn’t the pushover some people think it will be.
Of course. It’s the playoffs, the teams the Bills can beat with their “c” game have been eliminated.

I'd honestly be really curious to learn more about stuff like this. Like with Cline being signed to the Eagles practice squad. How are the Bills notified? Are they given the option to match or elevate? Do the Eagles pay him day one? Do the Eagles put him up in a hotel due to the lateness of the season?I feel for these guys who get bounced from team to team, sometimes multiple times throughout the season. How do they afford all the moving? What about their family? Etc
Something tells me Cine didn’t mind going to Philly with a ton of his UGA teammates
2 hours ago, YattaOkasan said:So cut Carter for Eli? Doesnt make sense even if true. Carter would most definitely not make it through waivers, and we can keep Eli on PS and have unlimited call ups in the postseason. Im very happy hes back but he doesnt need to be on the active roster.
No way cut Carter. I am 99% sure you were being sarcastic. Dline isn’t the easiest position to transfer from college to pro.

Some wild games we’ve had with Denver through the years, including 10-7 AFCCG and this!
I remember watching that game live. Talk about how fast a game can change and momentum can be a hard force to stop once it gets going! This is a reason playing at home is an advantage.

Its gotten to the point with McDermott that I want them to win as much for him as I do for the fans and city. He deserves some of the criticism he's taken but some of it is way way over the top.
Well said. It’s like he now understands what it’s like to be a Bills fan. He is one of us.

Yep. It just feels like this team has been waiting to get to the playoffs. I could be really wrong, but I think we see a different performance from the D than previous playoffs.

Who gets elevated?
Cine
Gore Jr
GouriageClapp
HardyHamler
Logue
Shavers and Virgil are both out of elevations
How are they out of elevations with it being the last game?

Anything less than $10 mil is fair, $8 feels like a bargain.

Like to see Groot and Miller be dominant against the tackles like they were in that clip. Gives me hope for the Chiefs game.

Just say it. Who cares. Not saying it for, how many years now?? hasn’t worked, so screw it. The Bills are winning itYep, if what we said truly impacted the outcome of the game, then the Bills should have every Lombardi in the trophy case. This year does feel different. Feels like health is finally not an issue, and the team has learned to manage their effort(for lack of better term) in a way so they aren’t drained by January. I honestly think only injury at this point can stop the Bills from a SB.
From the archives...Fredonia Training Camp Days

My grandfather worked for the Bills in the 70’s and 80’s and we would always go to Fredonia to watch practices even after he passed. Lots of cool memories. One that sticks out is seeing James Lofton running a go route and barely missing a ball, he started to say “son of a b****” but saw me and my cousins and changed to pup! Good dude. We got to go into training rooms and had Jimbo yell at us once, then he autographed a couple of practice balls for us. Wish I had all those still today.
