A "Stimulus" bill, but we won't call it a "stimulus

There are no 2 ways about it, the "Stimulus" plan has been an utter failure up to now. Recently there has been some pretty disturbing economic news, with the unemployment numbers coming out worse than expected, some manufacturing data that suggests that we are plateauing and auto sales numbers showing that all the Cash For Clunkers program did was just delay the slump for a month with GM posting a 45% decline in sales last month. The W.H seems to be in somewhat of a conundrum, they urgently need to try to stimulate the economy, but at the same time they need to be wary of the deficit. The other problem is that they desperately don't want to call it a "Stimulus" Bill because of the perceived failure of the first one, which of course would create further skepticism of the second one.

The administration is not dumb, they look at the poll numbers, according to the Rasmussen Poll only 32% believe the W.H is handling the deficit correctly, meanwhile over 60% express dissatisfaction over unemployment.

Correction: We paid 3 billion dollars to move sales from one month to another.

(That's the progressive We. Some of us will pay much more than others.)

Time to break out those focus groups and find out what to call this next round of spending. Let's see, how about the Chocolate Caramel Swirl Bunny Rabbit Smoozie Plan. Think about it: who doesn't love chocolate and caramel swirled together? Who doesn't love wittle bunny wabbits? Who doesn't love to say the word Smoozie?"

All you need to do is wrap this Chocolate Caramel Swirl Bunnny Rabbit Smoozie Plan in a white lab coat and give it a manly ponytail, and not only will it be cute and cuddly, but it'll also carry just a hint of authority to it as well.

I'm tell in' ya, it'll be testing off the charts.

If you really want an example of just how little business experience this administration has, look no further than Clash for Clunkers. Anyone with even the slightest bit of business sense knows that poorly timed and desperate incentive programs do more to expedite sales, not create new ones, and simply moves them from one quarter's numbers to an earlier quarter's numbers.

But it takes a community organizer to take a desperate incentive plan and use $3B in taxpayer dollars to fund it.
