If it's not, you'll need to run a cable to wherever your cable modem is located. Another possibility is setting up a wireless network. To do that, you'll need something like this. And yes - Wireless networking - my professional opinion is "Just say no!" You'll need a router regardless (you can't have two cable modems). Given the fact that, from my livingroom, I can easily break into five (5!) of my neighbor's wireless networks if I want, I think I'm safe... Dennis in NC Posted October 21, 2004 Share Posted October 21, 2004 As far as routers, I would recommend against the SMC Barricade (needed frequent reboot), and for the Netgear WGT624, which I have only had for a month or so, but works much better than the SMC.
