Mulitalo had three years remaining on his contract. His release takes the guard's $2 million base salary off their books for the 2007 season, but his accelerated signing bonus might make it a wash. I'll have to check that. But it's also $2 million in base salary off the books for 2008 and 2009. Anyone want to speculate as to why they're clearing cap room? Still would rather keep him....
