Recent History of Bills 4th rounders....

Recommended Posts

1 for 8 for starters currently with the Bills. Duke might start this year and has shown promise, so maybe 2 for 8.

PS- Who the hell is Bobby Collins? Did he ever suit up for us??

Bobby Collins was a small school TE that Mel Kiper felt was the 2nd best TE in the entire draft the year we got him. Needless to say he struggled but was traded for David Bowens, I'm still scratching my head why we cut him. As Bowens has gone on to be a very good starting/depth DE for the Dolphins.

Who really !@#$ing cares?

That's actually a rather surprising list of lousy players and washouts. Sure, a fourth rounder isn't expected to do much, but there always seems to be people saying what a great slot that first Sunday pick is because you have the whole night to look it over. Which, come to think of it, doesn't make any sense at all because either you have the guy ranked high on your chart or you don't. After months of studying him. And nothing he's going to do over Saturday night is going to change that.

Nevermind.

You may all go back to your regularly scheduled blathering.

A ST'er in his year with the B'gals. B'gals thought he'd work out, but he missed '04 with a dislocated ankle and never played again.

His name was kicked around as a possible high 2nd rounder - but he got shot - literally, some days before the draft.

Played a bit later on in the '03 season - ST

Smashed his car big time into a sign pole on an exit ramp the following year, and that was it.

The general idea being that clubs try to improve with the lower round choices, but things happen - injuries, a better player starting, just plain bad luck, sometimes just plain good luck or misjudgement. I won't single out the Bills...
